FYI for anyone who was able to grab a Pit last week from GameStop, it will be shipping on Friday, apparently.

Also, I am not sure if I am going to try TRU on Friday. Should I expect anything else besides Bowser, TL, Sheik, and Lucario?

After having numerous preorders from GameStop UK cancelled I managed to order a Rosalina a few days ago from the Nintendo UK store when they had them in stock. Just received an e-mail from them saying my order is cancelled :(

Probably til the summer. And I for one can't wait to finish and retire. As someone who's not into Pokemon and more into their older franchises, I really hope I won't get into too many more amiibo in the future. Unless they really, REALLY get into a specific franchise's line, and we start getting Shy Guy, Chain Chomp, Tetra, Ridley...

Fuck this'll never end...
 
With Code Name Steam looking better and better by the day seemingly, the pressure to get the other Fire Emblem amiibos is building for me.

I do want all the smash ones but the four Fire Emblem ones I really want.

I feel safe with all my preorders at Best Buy though. Have no idea about my TRU one with Lucario. Still need to go to GameStop and throw money down but I'm technically 'sick' so it will have to wait a few days
 
Despite no interest at first in any of the Amiibos, I now own about 10 of them.

Damn you, Nintendo.

But I have yet to open any of them. They basically lose all their value if you open them, right?

But then again, I don't have plans to sell them. Hmmm....

Personally, they have no value until you open them - the darn metal on the bottom prevents them from being synced to a console while still in box :/

I was like you, I thought the idea was cool, I'd pick up Sonic, Falco, Wario, Mr. Game n Watch, that'll probably be it.

But then I saw Pikachu, Marth, Pit, Luigi...

and I have all of Wave 3 preordered and waiting for pickup. I even went out of my wy to preorder and spare lucario and rosalina from Amazon Japan
 
So is GameStop supposed to have anyone in on the first? I was gonna check there after Target since I have my preorders there, but if not I probably won't waste my time lol

And...no idea about if Best Buy will have Meta Knight, right?

Certain things about that posting makes me not take them seriously. The fact that they knew/recognized Luma - but not Rosalina - is kinda fishy. They then proceed to link Luma directly to Elsa, which is wierd, but reveals that they aren't as ignorant - about the characters - as they pretend to be. What Nintendo fan knows Luma but not Rosalina? What Frozen fan neither realizes that Luma is not a part of the cast, nor that this 'Elsa' looks a little off? Hmmm... Seems like they were trolling/poking fun at some apparent similarities.

I think there's still value to it if you can display the boxes well. I couldn't figure out a way / I didn't have room to. But I've seen some nice pictures here.

I've used a few amiibo for play, but having cool figures on display is the main reason I want so many of them.

I don't know if the monetary value goes down much or not. All the ones I see on eBay are generally new/sealed. Maybe I should start looking for loose figures. Then again, I don't know how much I trust anyone to carefully ship a loose amiibo and have it safe when it gets here.
 
Because I don't think I can individually cancel figures from my GameStop and TRU orders, I just gotta wait for my preorders to ship :-)

It's so tempting to go to Nintendo World though.

I was originally getting two each from Wave 1 (to be fair, I only wanted Samus, Link and The Three Amiigos), one to use, one to keep on display for value.

Then I realized I'm never going to sell these so starting from Wave 2, stuck to one each. :)

To each their own though; not really a proper collector, but more power to you guys and gals who are.

May you never have to use a scalper to complete your set!

Anyone going to the Nintendo World Store want to snag Rosalina for me? I'd be eternally grateful (and I'd pay for it too, so there's that). Pweeze?
 
Did anyone order any amiibo from shopto last week? I ordered Toon Link and Diddy on Wednesday and they defaulted to second class delivery but still haven't come yet. They would've been dispatched on Thursday. Customer service said they need a fortnight before I can claim it's lost. Pretty annoyed...

My Lucario came today from amazon though - my first wave 3 amiibo. He looks great.
 
Just got an email from Amazon (US) that said my Toon Link will ship around March 5th.... Hmm.

I have Mega Man, Ike and Sheik pre ordered there but no word about those.

Considering what I heard about Bowser being March 2nd, I think Amazon is going to get it last.

Would explain why my Monster Hunter 4 was also in March. Guess they are not getting Nintendo shipments in Feb?

MSRP probably. I doubt you will ever see them on sale. I did get a couple commons for $10 though.
 
Because others here have reported their Target online preorders of Rosalina have shipped, I decided to check myself but no dice. I then pulled up my original order confirmation just to check on my order. I follow the link and this is what I get:

Well, this has me worried a bit. On the one hand they may be getting ready to ship which is why the page isn't working or they are getting ready to cancel my order.

Looks like I may have to visit my local Target on Sunday if my order goes south.

After I secure my Rosalina, I'm never doing business with Target online again.

I have been getting weird errors on target.com with Firefox today. So far so good with Chrome.
 
I guess I will try to go to Target on Feb. 1 and see what amiibos I can get. I never have issues with Amazon, except with Wave 2 and 3 of these things. Not sure why they're so delayed on getting stock that I can get them in store before they can ship. I guess maybe since the other stores like Best Buy, Target, TRU, and Gamestop have exclusives, they get the stock first and Amazon is left out in the cold.

You are right. Tried it on Chrome and worked as usual. No changes to my order, either, so it should be on track.

I'm so dumb for overreacting but this amiibo craze has dug deep and is here to stay unless Nintendo discontinues amiibo altogether. I need the full set of ALL of them.
 
This is why scalpers exist in the first place.

I'm still holding out hope for a Rosalina in-store the morning of release. My local Target and Best Buy have yet to let me down.
