On the flip-side though, among the exclusives Rosalina will be the most readily available to people without pre-orders. No in-store pre-orders so the entire shipments are open, large shipments, and 1 per customer limit.

Kinda sucks if you can't drop everything to be there during the opening hours, though.

Source? I think we had some reports of people claiming a few stores here and there may limit one per person, but that is certainly not universal or even likely.

Did I miss an official Target announcement?
 
Would someone be kind enough to put the amiibo marks around either the car or the guy flying out of the car in my avatar? Whichever looks better.

Rosalina seems to be the most common exclusive.

Meta Knight will be the rarest since he will have no in store presence as all have been taken by preorder. Ditto Shulk.

Lucario, TRU still had some available for non preorders in most places.

Don't think there's been an official announcement, but I've seen it reported several times that a 1 per customer policy has been implemented from the top. Who knows how well stores were stick to it though, assuming those reports are accurate to begin with. I guess I kind of just choose to believe because I want to. :P
 
If retailers are in a bidding war for exclusivity then screw this noise. I'll pick one I want and go for that. Trekking halfway across the Twin Cities area will not be worth it.

I hope you are right, I called a larger Target Greatland near me and they said they did not see any customer purchase limitations.
 
Why would they be in a bidding war what's it doing for them?? People are buying all of one figure not shipping and looking around

Who knows if that's actually why preorders are taking so long or not.

Yeah, Best Buy Canada confirmed Wave 4 would have exclusives a while back, before Wave 3 preorders were even up.
 
For the love of collecting, please don't do retail exclusives again, or at the very least, LET THE STORES HAVE A GOOD AMOUNT.
 
Guys realistically whats the cheapest I could expect to pay for a Little Mac now? It's the ONLY one I'm missing so I'm willing to spend a little more than usual. Does $50 sound about right?
 
My Pit came in the mail today. But I'm holding him hostage in case I can't get a Ness pre- order. Maybe someone will trade hostages with me. I'll make sure the exchange takes place at a bridge.

Wave 1:
Mario, Peach, Yoshi, DK, Link, Pikachu, Kirby, Samus, Fox, Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Marth.
12 figures.
7 Common.
2 Uncommons. (Samus, Fox, even if he is rare now)
3 Rares.

Of this, 11 characters, all except Peach, are Main Characters or mascots of their respective series.
2 are nameless characters and they are also the only representation in smash of their series for amiibo (Villager, Wii Fit Trainer)

Wave 2:
Luigi, Zelda, Diddy Kong, Captain Falcon, Pit, Little Mac.
6 figures.
2 Common.
1 Uncommon. (Diddy, common now)
3 Rares.

3 are the second most important character of its series (Zelda, Diddy, Luigi)
3 are main characters of their series (Captain Falcon, Pit, Little Mac)

Wave 3:
Bowser, Rosalina, Toon Link, Sheik, Lucario, Sonic, Megaman, King Dedede, Meta Knight, Ike.

We still don´t know for sure, but so far it seems Bowser is the only common from this batch.

In this wave we have:
2 Villains (Bowser, King Dedede), 3 if you count Meta Knight.
2 Third party characters.
2 Main characters from a later entry of their series (Toon Link, Ike)
