Public service announcement but if you plan on getting amiibos for collecting purposes (as in not opening them) DO NOT use Hastings. They shipped my little mac in a small box with zero fucking padding. Literally a packing slip and the figure. The fact that it appears to be in tact is nothing short of a miracle. The packaging however, is completely jacked up. Photos below.

Photo of the figure. The left side actually has a very slight tear in it.

This is how it arrived. No padding. Box is slightly small but would of preferred it being slightly over sized to this.

I'm pretty much screwed. You cannot get Mac anywhere right now so I'll stick with it in the hopes that Nintendo does a full release of all the amiibos again after Wave 3.

Yep, both my Diddy and Little Mac came fucked up. Ended up giving diddy to my brother since my cousin picked up a perfect conditioned one up for me from target.

Went to toys r us hoping to maybe find something new but I found nada. I also looked for the lucario preorder card but suspiciously enough where they have the preorder cards there was one completely empty spot. So either some shady scalper bought em all or they maybe didn't get any.

If I go to BestBuy.com and look at Captain Falcon, it says it's available for store pickup in 3-5 days... is that the "feature" that people are having problems with? It's actually been saying that for a while, so I don't believe it for a second. But it looks like it will let me pay for it. Does that mean they'll actually hold one for me?

EDIT: Disregard! When I "Add to Cart", I get an error.

I opened all of mine and I'll keep opening them, even if they're super rare. After my father-in-law passed away, I realized to either get rid of your sh*t or use it up because once you're gone people sell your sh*t.

I also lost a friend that always told me to open my toys, he did and now he's gone. Glad he got to enjoy them.

Sorry for your losses. Enjoy em brother!

Yeah fuck it I don't want then with the hopes of selling them I like them to display

Yeah, there's a lot of proof that most collections people gain over the years don't add up. You're better off enjoying your collection, than letting it sit in a box and "gain value" :-/

I learned that the hard way. As a kid I had a bunch of toys I never opened because at age 12 I thought I could sell them for huge profits and make a killing- so I could use the money to go to college and what have you. Absolutely none of the toys I have in box are worth anything now, and it's hard to find anyone who will even take them off my hands. Been thinking of giving them to Goodwill...

There has got to be a kid out there looking for your He-Man collection.

For real though. If I wanted unopened boxes on a shelf I'd buy something else and wouldn't worry about getting Marth or Villager. I want to open them and enjoy them.

I would need a new apartment if I tried to collect 50 unopened Amiibo boxes. Seriously, those boxes add up to a lot of wasted space.

That's a good way to look at it. Considering Amazon didn't carefully package my initial Amiibos the decision to take them out of the package was made for me.

Out of the package helps with storage, using them in game, and also, most importantly, you don't have to worry about package condition when someone else is shipping them to you.

Great I've got an order coming soon from them.

I actually like how they display in box. I am not against opening them but I'd need a good reason to do so in a future game.

I have samus opened for now and 3 others in box.

pre ordered meta knight, bowser, toon link, and mega man from bestbuy...and ive got ike, sonic, and dedede sitting in a cart at gamestop. i know i shouldnt, but i must =/ this amiibo life is hard

It seems to me that the person who would keep things mint in a box, would also be the type of person who would have a hard time selling that thing.

I've been that person before.

Literally me last night. Just keep reminding yourself how great it'll feel when they arrive and you can avoid all the anxiety of trying to find them in the wild.

Oh god, I'm an enabler just like the rest of you now!

You guys think we'll have luck finding wave 2 amiibos tomorrow since it's technically the release date for some?

You should be able to see evidence of Zelda, Diddy, and Little Mac being at stores tomorrow, at least. Luigi will be very YMMV, and there will be songs and ballads written of those lucky few who manage to snag early Pits and Captain Falcons.

Sounds like I'll be going out tomorrow morning for Diddy and Mac.

Just preordered Dedede, oy...

That's him, Shulk, Ike, Sonic, Mega Man, and Toon Link to pick up at Gamestop when they release (plus a Lucario, hopefully). I'm in too deep now. At least I've got pretty much everyone I want from Wave 3 covered now.

Me too. All a part of the B2G1 free thing. They haven't cancelled any part of it, even the ones I got for free (shipped one of the free ones already). But with all of these cancellations I'm seeing, I no longer expect to get out of it unscathed.

EDIT: Wait I think I replied to the wrong thing. Oh whatever, point is I'm probably not going to get them all.

Mostly sports figures that no longer have records or are seen in a poor light thanks to steroid stuff coming out...I'm not old enough for a He-Man collection.

I guess I have an early morning 6:30 AM rise and shine to be at Best Buy at 7 AM and see if they have any Falcons. Wish me luck fellow gaffers.

So am I the only one who doesn't have sealed copies of every one I've found so far?

I took photos of them in their packaging before opening them :) I have NO room, since I will keep boxes like from Nendos and figures with a bunch of little pieces, but not for Amiibos.

huh, i wasnt aware of the b2g1 thing going on. i got charged full price for each (GCU price) for each. also switched my dedede, sonic, and ike from gamestop to walmart. gamestop wanted $10 in shipping for those 3. uhh, no.

All the stores are empty in Quebec. Seriously wtf, do they even care about Christmas? The shelves are full of Skylanders and Disney figures, but close to no Amiibo (except Mario, Link and Peach).

I feel like ship to home is going to be a lot safer than store pickup preorders.
I feel the same way, lol. I may just cancel my instore preorders and order everything I want in one big order tomorrow. We'll see.

I got Yoshi and Little Mac from gamestop.com and I was really pleased.

Ha I've been doing the exact same thing. No idea what I will ever do with the photos though...

So it seems like Gamestop ship to home is a safe bet? No amiibo swaps reported thus far? I think I'm going to regret it if I don't pre-order Sonic and Dedede :/

For over a year I've been getting my LEs and such from Gamestop in store. I recommend that too, since you can pickup your pre-order easily (assuming you were able to get one), the packaging for their shipments to store are always excellent, and if there's several, you can pick out the good paint jobs.

Best But push Luigi, Capt Falcon and Pit to the 30th for some reason. There was a correction notice. my store is only getting a Handful of Zelda's and only one Diddy and Lil Mac....So I hid those to pick up tomorrow.
