Public service announcement but if you plan on getting amiibos for collecting purposes (as in not opening them) DO NOT use Hastings. They shipped my little mac in a small box with zero fucking padding. Literally a packing slip and the figure. The fact that it appears to be in tact is nothing short of a miracle. The packaging however, is completely jacked up. Photos below.

Photo of the figure. The left side actually has a very slight tear in it.

This is how it arrived. No padding. Box is slightly small but would of preferred it being slightly over sized to this.

I'm pretty much screwed. You cannot get Mac anywhere right now so I'll stick with it in the hopes that Nintendo does a full release of all the amiibos again after Wave 3.

Probably like how best buy just has told me what they have is on the shelf. It's a busy time of the year and they don't want to be bothered getting asked to go look in the backroom all day.

TRU has actually been good for me though, associates are knowledgeable about these and one guy even collects them. They explain the stock issues and when new stock might be in.

As of the end of November, they had sold around 700,000. It seems to have picked up speed since, at least from anecdotal reports.

Seems like a odd memo to put out.
Hey those guys who want to give us money? Yeah don't help them out if they come in asking. It's as simple as the Store Team to just keep on top of it if they know it's a hot item at the moment.
 
I grabbed Peach and Samus at Toys R Us for $22 and then stopped and prepaid for Shulk at Game Stop.

I didn't ask for any, but I'll need to keep them sealed until next week, just in case my wife bought some for Christmas (and she would know those are the two I would want).

I guess I'm only interested in Pit and Rosalina now.

That's the second time someone has had a problem.
Really hope this isn't the case with my pit order.
Though stories like this is why I want to find him in store so I can just cancel it.

The memo was referencing a guy at Reddit that was holding back stock for redditors specifically. I think this is specifically to curtail buying things for themselves and their friends while subverting fair ability for people to come in and have a chance to buy the items.

Unless I'm wrong, the guy on Reddit was intercepting the items before they made it to the sale floor.
 
Checked around some stores here today. Didn't see any wave 2 except for Zelda, which was pretty common. Some stores had tags up for some of the other wave 2 figures but nowhere I stopped had any of them on the shelf. Saw a few Fox figures still in stock. Otherwise it was all wave 1 common figures.
 
Guys should I go back and get Fox while he's still available at TRU? Now it's just bugging me that I didnt and I'm afraid to miss out lol

Yup gohastings is the absolute worst. They usually just ship stuff in a plastic bag.
 
So, has anyone pre-ordered from Gamestop? These stories of getting me worried that I'm not going to get my Zelda and Little Mac tomorrow like I'm suppose to.

Yep. Everything went super smoothly. Then again I haven't had any issues with TRU pre-ordering or Amazon pre-ordering either.

Toys 'R' Us in Bloomington, MN, had about 30 Luigis this morning, tons of Foxes, too.

FYI, for those with Amex: check your offers for $5 off TRU, too. Makes this deal even sweeter.
 
My boyfriend's Little Mac finally arrived from Amazon! That's a relief- I still have the one coming from Toys R Us, but I didn't wanna count on that since several people have been receiving wrong orders from them. If it does turn out to actually be Little Mac, I'll offer it up here to someone still looking.
 
Went to a toys r us and found one last Zelda amiibo. So for some reason, I decided to get that and one Peach for the promo.

I'll go to Best Buy to check if Little Mac is restocked tomorrow.

Lots of places do.

I've ordered games and blurays from best buy that arrived in what looked like a vacuum sealed garbage bag. Zero padding leaving the shitty eco cases to protect the discs.
 
Well, I went to BB to ask why my preorder was canceled.

Guess what? My Little Mac is in the pickup area with my name on it.

According to the manager on duty where you place a preorder for in store pickup it has a tendency to cancel preorders more than 7 days out (???). So today it was canceled (I preordered last Thursday) but it already had my name on it with a sticker. I explained what happened so they put a note on it to hold it back there despite the order being canceled so I can go get it tomorrow.

Now I can hope that the human condition does not occur and I get my boxer tomorrow.

This after I told myself I would only order the characters I liked (I don't give a crap about WFT or Villager).

The toys r us deal is until the end of the day, right? I see my local store is open until midnight, and I picked up $20 in credit for $10.
 
Got lucky set homepage to ebgames.ca and caught Shulk when it was finally available here also got one for a buddy. Then set Best Buy.ca as my homepage and caught the Meta Knight restock when there was like 10 left showing jeez these thing are hot right now!
