Exploiting people with more money than sense, at the expense of the average fan who would appreciate being able to participate in something but can't afford to cede to extortion, doesn't really sound all that noble to me.
People rationalize that they're not being a jerk because their activity isn't technically illegal all the time. But there are plenty of legal things you can engage in that are rude, thoughtless, greedy, and cause some level of harm to other people.
If you scalp and flip products because you are in bad straits and are literally trying to find a way to put food on the table and feed your children, I'm not going to call you an evil bastard. But I don't think people should rationalize away engaging in an activity which is distasteful and makes a lot of people have a bad time at something which should be fun.
