What have I done... the amiibo craze has been pumped into me now, I feel dirty...

On a side note, which of the Wave 2 figurines should one pre-order besides Ike that are going to be rare. I'm guessing Captain Falcon and Meta-Knight are going to be the other two from that wave.
 
Might as well take a flyer on a legit site that will let you put in an order for MSRP. Worst case scenario is it gets cancelled right?

Tell me about it, seriously wasn't expecting it and was going to wait until the end of December to get him as well as some other ones. Just go through that Entertainment Earth site if you still want it to place a pre-order. You don't have to pay until it gets released.
 
I have ordered all of mine from Best Buy online (because of GCU) and each has shipped in its own box with bubble wrap. All boxes/packaging in perfect condition.

I got in on the B2G1 deal that night on Best Buy so I got in a number of Wave 2 & 3 pre-orders. I am mainly getting the non-Mario universe characters since there are so many other figures and toys related to those. I am most interested in all of the other Nintendo properties that get neglected.
 
Placed orders from the EE site for Marth and Villager. Wanted both day 1, but the wallet couldn't afford it. Probably still can't now, but I want to get them so badly to go with Pikachu and Mario!

This exact thing happened to me. I bought Mario just because along with smash.

Then I was like, I need the Luigi, Bowser and Peach, obviously right. now i want the rares.

I went from 1 to 10 and maybe more in the future.

I went to my best buy on friday, was packed with amiibos, went today and over half were gone.
 
Which ones are people assuming needed to be pre ordered to avoid shortage for wave 2? I'm thinking I want Little Mac and Falcon, so would ordering online now be smart?

Little Mac, Falcon, Pit and maybe Diddy Kong although, I can't seem to pre-order Diddy Kong anywhere :L.

*edit* He's at Gamestop if you want to pre-order him but Amazon and BB are out.

Yeah, them and maybe Pit are the ones I'm thinking will be low stock and sell quick.

FUCK!!!!! Diddy is sold out everywhere. I only got Mac and Luigi from wave 2. Damn it. Should have gotten Diddy.

i managed to get all of wave 1, pre ordered all of wave 2 and got almost all of wave 3, just gotta pre order shulk and dedede but they're not available on amazon. so i guess i gotta go to gamestop :/

Fuuuuuuuu. He's not even available on my small local game store's site. That's really weird.

I'm debating whether to hold out and go to a store day 1 to get wave 2, or to order online.
 
Reading this thread, I'm glad I'm extremely picky. Some of the characters could have sold me if they had better poses, but as it is I think Zelda will do. If they had Lil Mac in the hoodie I'd go for that, and maybe I'll get Mega Man if I see him in the store and the paint doesn't look like shit as it does in pics online, but that's it.

Almost 100% chance of getting Capt Toad & Toadette whenever they release those.

Did they sell out in store quick for wave 1? I haven't been paying attention until recently, so I can't tell how easy things will be to find in store for wave 2.

Hm, I was going to go to Walmart to get Capt Falcon, since that's the closest store to me that carries them, but he isn't even on their website.

Most stores only have a few of the figures left around here (and only the extremely common ones)...lucked out getting Marth because I preordered...The Best Buy I preordered from only had enough Marth/WFT/Villager to fulfill preorders and hasn't seemed to have gotten any more in stock.
 
Does anyone know if it is even possible to pre-order Rosalina yet? I thought Rosalina was exclusive to Target, but there is no way to pre-order it yet that I can see. It does not seem to be listed. Other than that, I have all the amiibos I wanted preordered.

Preordered:

Gamestop - Pit, Little Mac, Shulk
Toys R Us - Lucario
Amazon - Toon Link, King DeDeDe, Sonic, Mega Man
Best Buy - Meta Knight

I already own Kirby, Pikachu, Samus and Yoshi.

Does anyone know what the Amiibo's will be doing in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker?
 
The sad thing is tbe scalpers will rule amiibo. They will buy up wave 2 make some scarce and we will see marth and villiger type rarity again. Dammit

From my experience on day one with wave 1:
*Best Buy had all of them except Marth, Villager and WFT. In fact, I have yet to see those figures at that Best Buy. Since I preordered for in-store pickup I was able to get them on launch date at that location thankfully.

*Toys R Us had all of them except Marth. They had plenty of WFT and 4 Villagers and tons for the rest.

Mind you this was all late in the first day (around 8PM) because I got off work late that day.
Based on that I think there's a good chance that C. Falcon and Pit will be close to sold out on day one and the same with Diddy Kong which apparently is already sold out everywhere.

So basically my speculation is:
Diddy = Marth
Pit, Cap. Falcon = WFT, Villager

Ah, ok. Looks like I'm going out early Friday morning to get at least those 4 then. I was going to order them online, but if I can get them in store I think I'd rather do that. I'm in a fairly small area anyways, so I don't think they'll fly off the shelves (hopefully).
 
For what it's worth, EB games told me the three have been discontinued and they weren't getting more. Also, JBHIFI have removed them from their website, where previously they said "out of stock" and you could preorder them.
 
I have almost all the ones I want preordered from waves 2 & 3. Got them at TRU during the BOGO 40% off sale. Still need to hit up the store for a cap falcon on release day though.
 
Meh. Kinda crappy they're hard to find already, but this tells me I will definitely pre-order the ones I want. Ike, Captain Falcon, and all the waifus. (Rosalina, Zero Suit, Lucina, Palutena, Zelda)

I now have Shulk preordered at Gamestop, Meta Knight at Best Buy, Marth and Villager at EE (props to you Gaffers for that), then got Toon Link, Mega Man, Diddy, Little Mac, Pit and Zelda at TRU for that discount.

So looks like all I need are Luigi, Falcon, Bowser, Sheik, Sonic, Dedede, Ike, Lucario and Rosalina.

...just kind of realizing how that's more than half the cast of Smash already.

Sorry if this question has been asked before but, how can this EE website be receiving more in January if the 3 rares have been discontinued?
 
Well that was fast.

BIJ received the Marth/Villager/Wii Fit Trainer I ordered from Amazon Japan and they're ready to forward it to me. Nice.
 
Nintendo just screwed everyone that ordered the loot crate special edition 3 crate deal. Nintendo was unable to keep to their obligation of sending them the final 2 amiibos (Zelda and Luigi) and so I and everyone that ordered these are not going to get them this week, earlier than everyone else, as was planned. These were not cheap and they were gifts for my kids. What the fuck Nintendo get your shit straight.

This whole amiibo thing is so disorganized. I really think they underestimated how popular these would be...
 
I can understand under producing certain ones initially as they might not have foreseen their popularity, but once they see that the demand is there it's silly not to produce more... That's just throwing money away.

I haven't bought any yet but had planned to just buy the Mario universe ones (Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, maybe Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong) but if they end up being rare I'm not going to any sort of lengths to track them down. Not for little plastic toys. Nintendo can just not have my hard earned money if they're gonna be stupid.
 
Nevermind, ignore me I'm stupid and I figured out what my problem was and now I feel dumb.

Got Little Mac and Diddy preordered, I'll preorder Pit, Zelda and Captain Falcon before they release.

Dear lord. Oh my god. If Nintendo EVER releases a ZSS Amiibo ALOT of people are going to go off the deep end. She's my main so I have to get her in my collection. One mint in box and another for playing purposes. Apart of me wants Nintendo to do it but apart of me would hate to see Amiibo GAF rip itself apart over her.

This thirst is WAY TO REAL.
