How does target handle pre-orders? Can I pre-order and then pick it up in a store or should I just risk it and see if I can get one the day they come out?

and feb 1st is a sunday...I hope they stock them on the right day.
 
Hoping preorders go live soon. Must be driving everyone else nuts that she's the only one not preordered yet.
 
Just paid £15 each at Game UK for Pit and Falcon.

Last time I shop at Game until they drop their prices back to £11.

But they ain't meant to be out until next Friday, so early charge I guess.
 
I got my first double dip today from the wife. Before I decided I was going to collect all of them, I stupidly opened four of them. Mario, DK, Link and Samus. Not a big deal since those are the most popular and most abundant figures. So my wife picked me up Samus again.

This leads me to figures not boxed

I'm so close, I can taste it. I have Little Mac on order from Best Buy, but a friend of mine picked him up for me. So Monday I'll cancel that one, once I receive him in person.
 
I'm really regretting preordering with Flubit, I still don't have my Kirby or Yoshi yet, I'm trying to cancel the orders but can't find anywhere else to buy a Kirby at RRP. I also already paid for Wave 2 with them which is a bit worrying.

The capitalized A in amiibo in the thread title is bothering me a bit though... :p

So any word on Wave 2 sightings in Europe? Apparently GAME has them now? Wonder if they'll show up early in the rest of Europe too, then.
 
They removed king dedede from the target amiibo page. I never saw him up for pre-order since he was always designated as out of stock online.
 
Well, after my haul from Friday, today I went and got Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong - so now I'm just missing 2 from having the entire set of Smash Bros. so far, Luigi and Yoshi.

Technically I have Yoshi but it is for my sister for Xmas, so I gotta get my own at some point. Luigi there are millions around so I'm not concerned. Will pick them up on Boxing Day or something.

The more urgent concern is wave 3 pre-orders, which I will do next week. Oh man how do I decide which must be pre-ordered? There are so many I want want.

Also I swapped my Zelda for another with better eyes, I like the new one much better. Zelda is one of my most fav characters in gaming so her Amiibo was special to me, gotta have a good one!

Also my Little Mac is different to my brothers one, the arm punching is placed differently. The changes these things can have between same characters are weird lol.
 
Are people in so cal actually finding Luigi/pit and captain Falcon? Seems like I've only seen stores get Zelda and a small quantity of lil mac and diddy kong.
 
I hate this crap, went from 6 to midnight... Er, 0 to 6 in one night. I only had time to stop at TRU in Florence KY. They had Mario, Peach, Link, Zelda, Samus, DK, Yoshi, Pikachu and Kirby. All were b1g1-40%off. I bought the first 6 and I'm probably seeking the other 3 tonight/tomorrow. FML, I need Fox and WFT, I had both in my hands on 11/23 and left them there :(

As far as I'm going with these things, I'm not aiming for a complete collection. I have no desire for Villager, Meta Knight, Dedede, Lucario, Little Mac, Captain Falcon, Diddy Kong, Mega Man, Toon Link, Sonic, Pit or the Fire Emblem dudes. I haven't decided about Sheik or Luigi.

I do need Bowser and Rosalina.

GAME do sell them, but for £4 more than elsewhere because they are fucking scammers. Their only Falcon was decent enough that I bought it with Pit, but I hated every minute being there.

No worries. I just realized TRU charges $13.99/ea when they're $12.99/10.39 at BB with GCU. Oh well, for these 6 I guess I'm okay paying an extra 80 cents each (even if it's almost half another amiibo). I already took the time to find flawless ones.

Do the little things bother anyone else, like how simple Kirby and Pikachu's designs are, like they should be cheaper (and some more expensive)? Or how Mario's summoning fireballs in his plain overalls?
 
Waiting Luigi here. Also hoping he gets an amiibo where he's just standing up so I can have a friend paint a Mr. L colour scheme on him since his Smash pose wouldn't fit for Mr. L

Yea. This needs to happen for every situation that involves limited stock. However they don't simply because of "more money" and less shipping they have to pay.

The problem is now we have this trend of people walking in the store and buying all of the figures...I've read it here and in CAG, people wiping out the Lil Mac and Diddy Kong amiibos.

I woke up, and the first thing I thought about were amiibos. =l
 
I was able to get two each of Diddy, Zelda, and Little Mac at Toys R Us last night. They had something like 40 Zeldas and 10-20 of Diddy and Little Mac. I'm buying all Amiibos in pairs from now on so I can trade for ones I'm not able to get. I was lucky to find a couple Wii Fit Trainers the other day but I'm going to need more trade bait if I want Marth and Villager.
 
I was waiting until I got paid to pre-order Meta Knight from Best Buy and now of course it's unavailable for in store pick-up everywhere. Oh well, I guess I'll just try my luck with shipping and visit the store on the first day to see what they get in.

It most definitely is a place holder. Amiibo are popular, but they're not that popular. Target does this all the time.

if you ordered before they went out of stock I don't see where the problem is, since it say in big red font "more coming soon" above the OOS button.

I managed to preorder Rosalina from UK Amazon, but she vanished soon after. Like, really, really quickly.

Unsurprising though considering that she's one of the most popular Nintendo characters in many years.

I hope they are already hard at work on a Rosalina game to capitalize on the similarities to Elsa.

I wouldn't be surprised if she sold out quick honestly.

Its just that I find it hard to believe that all the 3rd wave amiibos on target would sell out already. King dedede was up before (as sold out) and is not even shown anymore.

I think target is just rearranging stuff on their site in the mean time.
 
Diddy can be ordered for In-Store pickup now at Toys-R-Us! I bought two, so I guess one will become a Christmas present.
