Random lost souls have asked me
"What's the future of Rock' n' Roll?"
I say "I don't know, does it matter?"
This and that scene,
they all sound the same to me
neither much worse nor much better.

We're so fucked up these days,
we don't know who to hate and who to praise.
yet we consider this our suffering and pain.
when we're so privileged, a fact
we all forget about as
we go on whinging all over the place.

How we laughed as they shoveled the ashes
wrath hath soured
blood and death, we will pay back the debt
for this candy store of ours.

Look at those cunts on MTV
with their cars and cribs and rings and shit.
Is that what being a celebrity means?
Look boys and girls, heres BBC.
See corpses, rapes, and amputees.
What do you think now of the American dream?

And our soccer moms and dads
who raised us brats on those TV ads
I know that they sleep at night.
Their conscience is intact
they've convinced themselves of that,
Giving money to Jesus fucking H Christ

How they laughed as we shoveled the ashes
of the twin towers.
Blood and death, we will pay back the debt
for this candy store of ours.

goddamit, Griese!
source tags and codes is amazing.

great live band, too. and you have to love a band that starts a CD with "HEY, FUCK YOU, MAN!"

i approve this appreciation thread.

Worlds Apart was a crushing disappointment. I appreciate what they were trying to do, but I don't think it all came together. Would have made a great EP.

worlds apart was a bit of a disappoint to me, too. i was expecting so much after source tags...but that doesn't mean worlds apart is bad. just not as good as i would have hoped.

also, how near, how far is one of my top 10 favorite songs ever.

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.
Yeah, Worlds Apart just..didn't work. Madonna = brilliant record though, especially Blight Takes All and Mark David Chapman.

It's a tricky thing to make an album that crosses all different genres with wildly varied instrumentation. And I don't think they pulled it off. I can see why people like it, though. It is something of a mess, and a lot of times I like messes. Just not this one.

Madonna definitely doesn't get enough respect.

I love them. Their name is awesome. Anyone know the story behind it? If there is one...

I want to see them in concert. Anyone know if they are coming to New York any time soon?

i just want to mention i really, really like worlds apart a lot. you really cant expect them to top source tags and code since that was beyond amazing but its still very good.

Crowning of a heart, textures and shades
A bitter London night on the motorway
You looked so divine, back in the seat
Wicked desires ablaze in me

Back inside the house, into the room
Watching as the lights slowly fade from view
Couldn't even talk, what could you say?
Every thought just racing away.

Saw them a couple of weeks ago with The (International) Noise Conspiracy.

TINC rocked the shit out of my ass, and when Trail Of Dead came out, I lost 49 pounds because they rocked the rest of my shit out.

Such an awesome awesome show.

ToD sucked ass when element and I saw them live 2 weeks ago. Late last year they put on one of the best live shows I've ever seen.

yeah that show was pretty damn week. Here I was expecting stuff from Souce Tag & Codes and World's Apart, and I get what could have been a Black Flag concert or something.

compared to the show WhiteMan and I saw last year where they played mostly ST&C and World's Apart songs, and it was liking seeing Pink Floyd or Zepplin or something. It was awesome.

Futureheads in a week or so, so I'll be alright :D

I actually liked the song selection at this show. It was mostly stuff from Madonna. Maybe 2 songs from Source Tags and the new, shitty record. They closed with Richter Scale Madness.

Song selection was great. They just sucked.

And I'd kill to see any legitimate iteration of Black Flag. Even the shitty sludge metal years. Them boys knew their rockin'.

Wait, you WANT them to play mostly newer stuff?! Some fan you are. :p
I prefer the stuff from world's to their old stuff. The old stuff just comes across as angry angst im going to scream really loud.

I should have guessed that they would start playing older songs though. At the previous show, which was before world's was officially released, many fans would yell that the new songs sucked.
