have you guys tried out Princess Punt yet? Its a free Angry Birds Clone that adds in RPG elements. Not working on my tablet for some reason, but my brother and a friend downloaded it and they like it. My brother actually shelled out some money to buy some extra levels, haha.

I'd grown to hate Angry Birds, but in the short time I've spent with Princess Punt I'm liking it in most ways, except the "loading" screens.

I've been enjoying my Evo 3D. I actually picked up Nova 2 and have been playing that in the 3D mode and it actually looks really cool for a phone game. The game plays awkwardly, but I never thought an FPS on a touchscreen would actually work, so I'm actually still impressed. lol

I dunno, the 3D stuff is definitely a novelty, but this thing feels like a toy anyways, so I'm not bothered. Just another thing to play around with.

The numbers that Android games can pull in are just insane, it's not just angry birds. Some random (and pretty poor) pool game I just found has 10-50 million downloads on the android marketplace. Compared to traditional console and PC gaming those numbers are just mindblowing.

It does seem to be only the free apps that can do those kind of numbers, I think you'd be foolish as a dev not to do an ad supported version of your app. I wonder what kind of revenue an ad supported game brings in per customer who has downloaded it on average.

Food for thought, I don't think this is a bubble.

ive read that a lot of devs make a lot more money on the ad supported versions of games than the games people actually pay for. kind of sick.

Just got pointed at Xenowar, a UFO: Enemy Unknown alike which I've just purchased and will be giving a run ASAP.

Initial impression is that the interface is a bit strange. Will take some playing to figure out.

shadowgun out for nonTegra devices... saw some galaxy 2 owners reviewed it and it works fine for them. anyone with a htc sensation tried it?

I used to play Tiny Tower quite extensively on my iPad. Now that it's on Android, I decided to go at it again, however the lack of notifications isn't helping.

Constant notifications on my iPad were what kept me going, tbh.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Is there something to recommend in the Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale or Diablo mold? Preferably for tablet.

I like Dungeon Hunters 2HD Might be similar?

EDIT: also Downloaded Shadow Gun for my GSII works a treat... now I got some rather good Android Games to play..

Dungeon Hunters 2HD/Tin Tin (Get it a really nice game) and now Shadow Gun

still not diggin the lack of physical controllers (would suit shadow gun) but holy hell, am starting to see the Android platform as a serious alternative to my 3DS if I dont have anythign to play on the 3Ds I can play the Android, and Vice Verse

Not trying to be a schmuck, but I'm finally looking to jump onboard the smartphone bandwagon, and am trying to decide on whether to go Android or Apple.

Could you guys give me an honest opinion on which has the better games available?

I'd say Apple and I might be a diehard Android fan as well as a proud Nexus owner. Android ports are often inferior and for the time being the offer is better on iOS.

That being said, Android is starting to get very competitive in the gaming area and I'm enjoying playing with my phone more and more, games are getting really decent and some are addictive.

Apple, hands down. Android is catching up, but it's not even close.

As an Android fan, Apple for sure. Thats not to say that Android doesnt have many, many great games though, and I never have a shortage of stuff to play, but the fact is that there are less.

Thanks for the replies. I was kind of getting the impression that the Android game selection wasn't quite on par with Apple, but I figured you guys could give me a definite answer.

Does Android also have it's own exclusives that aren't on Apple's platform? Anything especially worth checking out?

I have a long ass flight ahead of me and an ASUS eee pad transformer.
I'm looking for some games that will keep me entertained for a while.
Ideally, "real" games (i.e. not the fruit ninja variety).
Shooters, RPGs, beat-em-ups, that kind of stuff (though if there something great outside those parameters, do tell).

Money shouldn't be an issue (though a micro-transactioned game is problematic, as I won't have an internet connection on my flight, but if I can pre-buy what I need, it's cool).

Help me gaming side, you're my only hope.
I'll even make a stupid Star Wars reference for you.
Just save me from watching special edition Adam Sandler movies.
