Emissary of War is out for $1. It's an action RPG made by ex-Bioware staff:

Got this last night, it is brilliant.

Anyone tried Planescape Torment through GemRB? If so, how much of a hassle is it to get it working and how playable is it?

If I'm going to try it it's on a Asus Transformer btw. Guessing that with a 10 inch screen it should be ok.

When trying to play buddy rush, does anyone else get stuck on the loading screen?
When I saw the reviews on the market that say things like "forces you to allow it to post to your Facebook wall", I decided I didn't want to play it. I'm sure that's optional within the game, but there's enough spam on my wall from stuff and I'd rather not have more.

On a side note I'm super excited for the future of Android gaming now with all these announcements! It's also great to see Serious Sam and some of the other big games make it to Android at the same time as iOS!

Just tried it out. Wasn't too difficult to get it working. It don't seem to have true touchscreen support yet. Feels like controlling the pointer with an analog stick.

Edit: You can do point-to-click. Playable on the phone. I imagine it'll be even easier to aim with a tablet.

Is there any loot heavy diablo-esq games out on Android? I finally got my Xperia Play and hot damn, all it took was that simple little controller. I love it as a gaming platform, but now I need games that tickle my favorite game mechanic.

/self proclaimed loot whore :(

Is there anything like AppShopper for Android? Basically an app that will notify me of apps on sale, and I can make a wishlist and get notified when any of the apps on it are on sale?

I'm also going to +1 this, cost me 64p and kept me entertained for a few hours. A bit short, but production values are pretty good. Some decent voice acting and some pretty funny moments. I'd advise everyone to take a chance (because I think that there is more to come, and I want to ensure that happens!)

10.50 for a rpg maker game? thats kinda ridiculous

Half off!

I bought their previous RPG when it was on sale for like $3 something. Not bad, but pretty low budget and stiffly translated. Charging SquareEnix prices seems like a bit of wishful thinking on their part. Though I guess Square's bigger games aren't on Android yet.

What are some decent RPGs on Android you suggest? I hate the market, it's crowded and I can't figure anything out. I did come across some awesome text based adventure games (more like choose your own adventure) from Choice Games I think. Choice of the Vampire was just rad. I played all of them though, back to back. Had to have more. Anyway, I enjoyed this Emissary action RPG, so I'd love to play more quality titles on Android. I can't believe there aren't more subcategories on the interface to hgelp sift through all the mud.

So that means they want 21 dollars for the game regularly?

I'm curious, is there an expectation for Android games to have some sort of OpenFeint support or any sort of achievements? I have possibility of maybe getting a free Android phone but just wondering if I will end up gaming on it or not when I already will have iOS and WP7 devices as well (don't ask, Japan is in mobile phone heaven over here) They have these weird Android phones here that have very small feature phone style screens.

I haven't dived into that many RPGs yet. I've only had an Android phone a few months. There don't seem to be a lot of classic JRPG turn based style stuff. Lots of action rpgs and roguelikes.

I haven't tried all these but they're worth a look:
Accross Age DX, Caligo Chaser, Cyberlords Arcology, Destinia, Dweller, Gailardia, Illusia, Inotia3, Legends of Yore, TrapHunter, Zenonia 1-3

If you have both iOS and WP7 I think you probably will have your hands plenty full as-is :)
But to answer your question, there are several games on Android which implement OpenFeint, and definitely more to come.

Kemco releases new JRPG Eve of the Genesis ($10.50 "on sale")
YYYYEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! Gaming win! I will buy it as soon as they release it for every device. Super mega exciting!

As far as the Android Market is concerned, I definitely have my issues with how hard it is to find things, but they have definitely improved it since I got this phone last October (my first Android device), so I have faith that they will continue the trend. I don't have an iOS device, but I've heard nothing but praises for their AppStore interface.

I hate paying money for apps but I have to many down hours right now with only my phone and no computer.

Grand Prix Story or Pocket League Story?

I play game dev story and it was fun for a little bit but got boring after the first playthrough. Which one is better with more stuff to do and more replay value.

unless there is some other awesome $5 game that every phone should have.

Grand Prix Story.

I have all the Kairosoft games and it's definitely the best, and it definitely has reply value (you'll never get to max out or build all the cars first time around, and its always fun to go back and experiment with stuff)

Hmmmpf Grand Prix Story is not easy...I'm stuck with the protocar for the egyptian race, and I suck (with stats like 300 for speed, 150 for Acc. and 240 for Handling...).

You need FWD and Off-Road tyres, think there are one or two other upgrades that may help. Still, the off-road and ice races are hard though, bit easier second time around when you can carry over one car and one upgrade.

I am borrowing an Android phone from work and I installed all the Kairosoft free games on it (Hot Springs, Pocket League, etc). My mind is kind of blown away at how bad the marketplace is, there are no download/purchase rankings at all??? Really??????

It's interesting that Fruit Ninja enables OpenFeint even if you don't sign into it (it just names you as something random)
