Jelly Defense crashes on my Epic 4G. :( Did I install the wrong version or something? I only have an hour before I can't refund it...
Nope, only one version. Refund it is then... and report it to the Dev. Sorry you miss out :-\

Jelly Defense is 49MB. Some phones have annoying self imposed limits to how large of files you can download from the official android market. (Samsung Galaxy S for example is 30MB)

Many devs don't really know this and games that otherwise would run on the phone but can't be downloaded are marked as compatible.
Welp wait for amazon market I guess.

Thanks for the Emissary of War recommendations, does anyone know of other action games with similar tap-to-move controls?
If they fleshed that game out to say a 9.99 game it would be awesome

LOL I forgot that Android limited refunds to friggin 15 minutes. What a joke.

Well, I'm communicating with Infinite Dreams, so I'm not trippin.

Anyone else that puts out really graphically intensive games?

Guys, I have an Eee Pad (tegra 2 tablet) - can you recommend some gaming for me?
I currently have on it:

Age of Conquerers
Age of Zombies
Angry Birds
Baseball Superstar (the newest one)
Battle for Mars
Coins vs Zombies
Cyberlords
Dungeon Defenders
Emissary of War
EVAC HD
Flick Kick Football
Fruit Ninja THD
Galaxy on Fire THD
Game Dev Story (looks like ass - why couldn't they update it for tablets??)
Gem Miner: Dig Deep
Grand Prix Story
Pocket League Story
Robotek HD
Route Words
Samurai II: Vengeance THD
Soccer Superstars

picked up a few from this list, thanks v. much
I got:
Battleheart (already got on ipod, but really fun)
Jelly Defense (looks awesome)
Jet Car Stunts (looks good - was already going to buy but forgot)
They Need to be Fed (61p - why not try it?)

Can't find Plants vs Zombies on the market, but then I already have it on PC and ipod, so I probably shouldn't triple dip, lol

Any decent SRPGs, strategy or adventure games?

Jet Car Stunts looks incredible and runs like a dream too. Like Trackmania but with even more brutally difficult platforming. I have yet to beat the first list of medal courses. Also there's one that just came out for Tegra 2 devices, Shadowgun I think it's called, sort of like Gears of War.

Early Bird finally has me gaming on my Android again, such a nice and simple game. GFX remind me of John Kricfalusi cartoons

Searched and didn't see this was posted so sorry if it's a repeat, butSpirit HD is a great little twin-stick style shooter. Instead of shooting you drag your ship in a loop around the area you want to kill enemies. Pretty fun and addicting.

Also love the Geometry Wars vibe it gives off.

There was an update to Jelly Defense that supposedly fixes the start-screen crash bug on certain devices if anyone wants to try it again.

Jelly defense is slick. highly polished. it's more like GRave defense than robot defense/myth defense. I prefer the latter because I like being able to place my army anywhere on the screen. I don't like preset spots.

Jelly defense is still worth it (especially for a dollar!) the graphics and music are fantastic. I hope they add more modes and achievements. Right now I just see campaign and a nice jelly encyclopedia.

I like how I've been waiting for Android gaming to take off for the longest time, and now that it's starting to kick into high-gear, there's no space left on my shitty Nexus One.

I'm pretty sure I saw it in the market months ago.

It's probably new for him as it just added support for tegra devices.

Makes sense, I was going to say I definitely have seen that one before. Far too expensive though.

Speaking of cheap, I broke down and bought Jelly Defense. Excellent game! I think the style alone makes me enjoy it, gives that World of Goo feel with a twist. It's awesome just to wait to see what's coming next.

Btw where the heck is Minecraft??????

Just bought Jelly Defense based on all the recommendations in this thread. Got an install error on my EVO, "package file is invalid." Tried downloading twice and got that both times. I'm on latest version of MIUI, anyone else having this issue?

Yup, that update worked for me. Very smooth looking. I have something to play tonight!

Jelly Defense installed fine for me once I downloaded via wi-fi from home. Maybe the file got corrupt somehow when I downloaded via 3G. Fantastic game btw, love the graphics style and level of polish. Steal at $.99.

time for another shameless plug

I've finally released my new game. It's a simple but cute 3D platformer called Helium Boy.
8yGbh.jpg

trailer
Android Market
it's also available for iOS

The game is inspired by Balloon Fight, and it's lesser known sequel Balloon Kid. You use balloons to fly through the levels and collect stars, while avoiding birds, flying ninjas and spikey things. If you loose your balloons you can use your pump to get new ones and you can also jump around without any balloons.

The game is ideally played on an Xperia PLAY, but it works decently with an oncreen gamepad as well. You can also use the Wiimote app or other gamepad plugins, but you won't get analog controls with those. It requires a GLES2 compatible device.

Some of you may actually remember this game (though it's very unlikely) from this thread. I made the first version way back in 2006 when I was still in Uni and then I dabbled a bit in Wii homebrew a few years ago and made a quick port. However this time the game is almost completely remade with new graphics and has a bunch of new levels and stuff (the original only had one level, this version has 8).

Looks really fun actually. I have a hardware keyboard on my G2 and a Game Gripper that makes it feel like a game pad. Can I use that with this game? Seems like it would be tough to play on a touchscreen because of the 2.5D style.

Yes you can map the input to any keys so it should work fine. It actually plays reasonably well with the virtual touchscreen gamepad as well.

Also, only some levels are 2.5D while the others have full 3d movement, so analog controls are pretty nice to have, though not necessary. Unfourtunatly I had to remove support for the analog touchpad on xperia play in the last minute because that version crashed on some phones, and Android market won't let me select specific devices to filter between different versions. Hopefully I'll get it fixed soon.

Sleepy Jack is out!

Gameplay is about as boring as Nights and Panzer Dragoon <_<

Costs a € so what ever :p
You should be shot for such blasphemy! NiGHTS and Panzer Dragoon are some of the greatest games ever!

Block Breaker 3 Unlimited
Man, talk about a base and generic name.
But the game behind it is a very very good Arkanoid clone. Controls well, has good powerups and excellent multi-tiered stage design. Really, I have to applaud them for the ideas, some absolutely brilliant stuff.

edit: It's just €0.79 in Europe but full $4.99 in the US?? Can't check.
Also, hilariously ripoffy IAPs, one use items anyone? Haha.

(hmm, new game idea..)

I am trying to generate some interest in my game leading up to the release of the new Kindle Fire tablet on Amazon's marketplace.

"Prices are slashed $1.99 -> Free" said in my best mattress commercial voice, for a short time. Do yourself a favor and grab it now!

And if you do decide to grab it, kindly do me a favor and leave a review for the app over there as well. It's a big help. Thanks everyone!
