I don't see this on either store on my phone. Is it tablet only?

The Tiki Golf was still listed as App o' the Day for Amazon when I loaded up the store this morning before coming to work. :(

Edit: This is now the listed App o' the Day through the web storefront:
Dabble HD - The Fast Thinking Word Game, Tablet Edition
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0067R8JNK/?tag=neogaf0e-20

I'm just as confused as everyone else. Halfbrick put out a Press Release and everything that it'd be app of the day today.

Saw this on Zen Studios twitter:
@zen_studios Zen Pinball is a FREE download on iOS and Droid, and included in that download is the Sorcerer's Lair table for FREE. No strings attached.

Shortly followed by:

@zen_studios it's coming this week, not available just yet. will tweet when it is live

Exciting stuff. Really love the console versions of their pinball games. Looks like they are going for the same business model as Pinball FX2 on the 360.

Sorry, I don't know how to properly quote twitter messages.

I asked them when Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots would be hitting the Amazon App Store on Twitter and they responded.

Hi! Unfortunately we hit a snag due to technical issues and are now aiming for a late Dec release. Will use time to improve the app!

Two new and awesome games I downloaded for Android:

mUjHz.jpg

Where's My water? The game is really amazing, I don't know why but it kinda reminds me of Cut the Rope. 'Pick up and play' and addictive gameplay, only 0,99c Too.

Yeah, "Where's My Water" is really great. Runs perfectly on my SGS-II. I like how it also tells a mini story and actually has a great soundscape. *scrubs under shower*

Omg, Defender is the most addicting game ever. I'm on level 60 getting raped by the double bosses. If you get this game, do everything you can to upgrade to multiple arrows ASAP and pick one spell to focus on. I picked the ice spells. I can't stop playing this shit, lol...

World of Goo, Chu Chu Rocket and Sleepy Jack are now available on the market.

I bought both World of Goo and Chu Chu Rocket. Works amazingly on my G2 phone and my Asus Transformer. Both games feel perfect for the tab

I have many games on my Sensation, but I just keep coming back to Alberi. I'm not really into playing any action or fast-paced games on my phone.. I like my mobile games to be slow paced brain teasers.

Unless it's Cut the Rope. I love Cut the Rope.

Yeah World of Goo is amazing, but I'm worried that it's going to be too hard to play on the phone past the initial stages because of the speed and precision required to play. It was perfect on the Wii, but I need some feedback about that before I bite.

Ah, sort of like Sudoku with a twist. Nice find!

I filled it out without even reading what I was actually trying to win.

SuperRope

Really enjoying this game a lot, It's just a simple climbing/jumping game. They fixed a nasty force close bug and now it's working great. Free so give it a shot if you like this type of game.

Just got paid! and I want Chu Chu and Goo... but yea, I'd like to hear some impressions on Goo's later levels (loved the early ones on the demo)? hasn't it been out on iOS?

Never played it on the wii or pc but I think you are right. I played on my phone for about a half hour and was getting a little frustrated. Not because its a bad game at all, the game is amazing. Because of the whole touch gaming on a small screen.

Sometimes when I want to scroll, I would accidently grab a gooball and mess up the whole structure, or I just grab the wrong gooball.

I believe they have a demo, give it a try.

By the way, is this the same Gwanatu from the futuremark forums?

Chu Chu Rocket is good. No multiplayer though. If you like puzzles and you haven't played it before go for it. Actually even if you have played it before you might want to go for it.

It's one of the best games to come out in recent years. Despite having a lot of levels, the game never asks you to do the same thing twice. Also, it's one of the few games to have made me laugh really loud at a gameplay mechanic.

Yes he is. Quite a few of us made a nice home here : )

ChuChu Rocket is awesome and perfect for a tablet. It runs great on my Kindle Fire.

But I wish battle mode wasn't only against the CPU. Apparently the iOS version has local and wifi multiplayer so I'm kinda hoping that gets patched in at some point.

Yeah, I got it as I heard good things earlier and it is really good. I say that as someone who doesn't really like tower defense games other than some PJ Monsters. Could be the whole aesthetic though, the presentation truly is top notch. And the little story combined with the "cute" characters really gives it some personality.

Gameloft is also having a sale on their games so if anyone was wanting to play WoW on a portable here's a good chance. I took a chance on Order and Chaos and it is surprisingly competent. Good even. At least from my short time with it so far.

Bought World of Goo yesterday, pretty amazing game, works flawlessly in my Galaxy SII. And just tried Alberi and SuperRope, recommended in this page, good games too, especially Alberi.

I still buy Android games, but I'm getting discouraged because it seems like amazon has them for free soon after I buy them.

yeah I know what you mean, but a good thing about the android market is that they seem to get updates for the apps quicker.

Yep that's me! munkieNS if you remember that better. How long have you been at GAF?

Also I'm fully addicted to Where's My Water. Absolutely amazing game.

If it makes you feel better, you're supporting the developers by actually buying the game, thus assuring you'll get more goodies from them in the future. The free app of the day is akin to advertising to get a title to the top download spots for a while.

I prefer to buy stuff on the Android Market anyway, Im not a fan of the updates to Amazon's program lately. There have been a few things that I really liked, that I had gotten for free from Amazon, and still bought on the normal market.

Zombie Exodus was recently published on Android (as well as iOS, or alternatively on the web).

While not designed by the same folks as Choice of the Vampire (awesome) or Choice of Broadsides (also awesome), it is written in the same script and published/hosted by these fellows (IE a "fan game"). Worth checking out if you're into these kinds of text based games. Fairly certain the entire "series" isn't finished yet (in reference to Exodus). I should also add Choice of the Dragon. Clearly an earlier work, but still fun.

The game is free, as are the rest of the games listed here (to reiterate, check them out if you like text or choose your own adventure titles). You can alternatively buy a version without the ad at the bottom.

i only use Amazon for exclusive items. I buy the game on the android market otherwise.

awesome! didn't even know the first batch existed. Is there a proper order to play them in?

They are all self contained games (I assume you're talking about Choice of Vampire/Broadside/Dragon). Though I suspect one day they will release sequels for some of the more popular titles they've developed internally. As far as Zombie goes, I think this is the first installment, it's not quite "finished" so to speak. (From the author of "Zombie Exodus" verbatim "One thing -- I have 4-5 more Parts planned so the game won't be "done" for a while. It is a series, which will be updated every 3-4 months (or however long CoG is willing to do so). "

Though if you want my personal opinion, talking specifically about the "Choice of Games" label, I would play Dragon first because it is much more simple in design. Vampire and Broadsides are more complex in design and it is easier to appreciate the simplicity of Dragon if it's experienced before the more thought out stories that came later. There are a few more games this company has developed, you can find them here on their website (all of their titles are also playable free on the website, but acquiring them on Android or iOS is not only free as well, but probably leads to more peripheral exposure if something like that is relevant to you).

Further, the "Hosted Games" label, which as I said are fan games they release when written in that engine, can also be found on their website here, also playable for free. These are of varying quality as they are user submitted. There has been a holdup in the release of many of the user submitted titles, so there should be a relative deluge of them coming. Hopefully as time passes the quality of the user submitted stories will reach something resembling parity with the official releases (though one can only expect so much).

Still haven't heard back about why Dead Space has been removed from the Amazon app store.

Really annoyed about this. I was looking forward to playing Dead Space on my Fire but when I went to get it I noticed it was taken down. I know Amazon has a track record on refusing to comment on this sort of thing, and looking at EAMobile's twitter their response to everything is "Hi! We'll keep you updated as soon as we hear something!" which is PR speak for "We don't know or we can't tell you."

Kind of shitty of EA to remove a game two weeks after its release on the Amazon store.
