In most cases I'm swearing off smartphone gaming within 5 minutes, but these touchscreen controls are actually kind of incredible. They're so damn responsive. I'm on Android--Evo4G. It's actually a bit sluggish at moments with this aging phone, but everything else runs perfectly.

It looks like Taxman did the mobile versions all by himself, whereas he had the help of a team on the console/PC? versions. There's no mention of Blit in the credits here.

The controls are that good.

So I'm curious, I've seen some other devs here talking about having their game in the FreeAppOfTheDay promotion on amazon. What where your experiences and what were the effect on sales?
I had over 100 000 downloads yesterday and mostly positive reviews and it reached the #1 in top free apps. I haven't really sold anyting on amazon before, only a handful of copies when it was first released. Do you think I'll see an instant bump in sales now? Is there any chance it will it have a longterm effect?

Also Amazon reviews are weird; there's so much trolling going on and reviewers attacking each other. I haven't seen anything like it in the other app stores

Apparently Zookeeper DX came out a few weeks ago and I missed it. Only 99 cents.

Sweet. Now if only it existed on the Amazon App Store. :( Curse you, Amazon!

(In all seriousness, I've gotten lots of fun apps through the 10¢ promotions, because of price matching, so I'm actually quite happy. I just wish I also had official access to these other apps. When my sis gives me her old Droid tomorrow, I'll have a second Android device to play with, so...)

I think the biggest problem is that Amazon's Appstore has no device filtering, and thus you get lots of whiners and idiots giving 1 star reviews to apps that don't work on their device.

Unfortunately I missed this as the free app of the day yesterday because I haven't reinstalled it since moving to ICS.

I would be very interested in how sales go after being the free app of the day. Let us know if you see a bump.

Yeah I've got a G2 (Desire Z in other regions) who's hardware is nearly identical to the Xperia Play, and it says GTA 3 isn't compatible with my phone. Lame.

There is more than one GTA3 on the market and only one works on my S2.

Not trying to make this an apple vs android or go off topic.

Bought it on the Asus Transformer tablet. Only played a few missions this morning. Runs perfectly. Touch controlls are really good. Downloaded quick on wifi.

Only complaint so far is its to much to quit the game and no custom radio.

Also notice there's no light trails. I like the light trails in the PS2 version.

Downloading on my g2. Will update on that.

**update

Pretty much runfs like crap on my G2. I however did find that there is a replay button. I believe u press the menu button during gameplay and it will show u the replay for the last minute or so.

Hmm, pm me about how you got it on your G2 please...

Apparatus is really fun. highly recommended for those people who like to do crazy things in games just to see what will happen. It really gets the imagination going too. you can also create your levels and have others try them.

I can't wait to try GTA 3 on my phone (htc sensation) Downloading it tonight. I'm glad it's on older phones too, this is my fiance's favorite game. she uses the Evo 4g.

Yeah Apparatus is an awesome, Incredible Machine style game that gets REALLY hard. Everyone I know got stuck at the same level unfortunately.

Has anyone tried GTA3 with a Desire HD? Does it run well or at all?

I downloaded it for my HTC Inspire 4G (from what I understand they're the same phone?) and it's running fine for me. Some slowdown when my phone was getting slammed with Facebook alerts and text messages, but that's to be expected.

Game Dev pales in comparison to everything they've done since. This one looks quite good too - are those battle sequences?

Anyone hear about an issue about downloading gta3? Its doing the 2nd download from within the game and it hits 100% yet still continues then tells me of download error and make sure I have an internet connection.

Anyone know if Sonic CD is Xperia PLAY optimized?

Some sources are reporting yes, some no. But no one has been like "I'M PLAYING IT RIGHT NOW AND IT IS/N'T LOL".

:P

They are indeed the same phone. Thanks for the info, I'll pick it up now.

Heeyy! Kairosoft have released Epic Astro Story!

That looks pretty cool. The best thing about a new Kairosoft release is that it usually means their older games go on sale for a while. Doesn't seem to be the case right now but hopefully they will do it soon because I still need to pick up World Cruise and Grand Prix.

I got a bunch of great apps through these 10 days. Also, I had no clue that Gameloft games looked this good... I mean I know they copy every game and they're shameless about it, but I was playing Asphalt 6 and Backstab (the Assassin's Creed clone) and they were actually both very fun and great looking games. Also the GameLoft game Block Breaker was pretty crazy.

Also other great games I've played is Reckless Getaway, Spirit, Sentinel 3 and most recently blood and glory (is this a infinity blade clone?)...

So when people say that the game selction on Android is bad compared to iOS I just laugh. I haven't even included the emulators.

god i love wind-up knight

*edit*

says GTA3 is compatible with my infuse (which is a slightly overclocked GS1)

the hell?

Where does it say it's compatible? I have it on my Infuse and can't get past the opening intro. Just locks up my phone.

Phone gaming is becoming what PC gaming used to be with specs and compatibility =P

quisr is the free app of the day on Amazon's appstore. it's a quiz game. I like it. it even includes multiplayer on one device.

GTA 3 working fine on the htc sensation. I gotta get use to the controls. but the game looks great.

That sounds kinda weird. If you have already tried reinstalling the app, maybe you should try downloading the SD storage files for your device elsewhere and transfer them onto the card, but I have no idea if that would work.

I've been trying to download Sonic CD all day. So frustrating that even if you tap the screen, it stops the download? Restarts the download from the beginning and doesn't start where it left off? That's pretty ridiculous.

sega's tweeted a few times that they're having server issues. guess they're not resolved yet?
