Agreed. I just finished Granny Smith at lunch today. Physics felt really nice, but yeah, just too short, and way easier than Rayman, even though the last few stages in GS took me about 10 tries a piece.
 
So I'm guessing that's that for the 25c sale?

Got a few games:
- Dungeon Village
- Granny Smith
- Great Big War Game
- Ski Safari
- Broken Sword

Also got a few apps:
- Paper Camera
- Nova Launcher

I would've wanted Spy Mouse on my tablet, but it seems buggy on Android. I'll just stick to the version I have on my iPhone.
 
So Rayman is all kinds of awesome. I really want a vita but it can't be justified when I can play addictive shit like this and Ski Safari.

If only Hot Shots Golf came out for Android....
 
So, you cannot buy a game if you don't own a compatible device on the Play store?

I want to buy Horn, but none of my devices can run it. But I expect to get a Nexus 7 in a couple months. It won't let me buy it.

That sucks.

It's not precisely a walk in the park, but you could set up an Android emulator using the Android SDK to emulate a device that *is* compatible with Horn, buy it in that device's store with your account, and you'll have it available on your Nexus 7 as soon as you buy it.

Use blue stacks. It's free. You can buy apps from the play store because blue stacks adds a compatible device to your account.

I just looked into that, and doesn't BlueStacks not include Google Play? So how does that work? Or do you just login to your Google account using it, and then buy the app through the website?

It includes the Play Store, you just have to find a way to it. Bluestacks are really fucking terribly designed.
 
Threads too massive for me to read and the OP has some terrible looking games. I got a nexus 7 spending the $25 credit. I'm looking for western games with a license (Ubisoft, EA, Konami, etc) or Japanese doujin stuff. I'm not really a fan of western indie games. I also second the motion for tactical/strategy rpg ala fire emblem.

I'm a little late for the sale to reply to this, so sorry in advance. If you go to play.Google.com on your computer and sign in with your account, you can browse everything in the store, even if it isn't compatible with any devices you own. You can also buy stuff and send it straight to your phone without having to look it up again on the phone. It's a great feature.

But you still can't buy it if your phones don't support it, can you?

No, you can't. You can only buy if a compatible device is attached to your account.

As other people have mentioned it looks like there's some workarounds, like if you use an emulator and tie it to your account, but that sounds like a pain.

You might like Battle for Wesnoth. No idea how the Android port is, but it's open source for Windows/Mac/Linux so you can give it a try.
 
How does the Google wallet system work? They show all prices in HKD but I was charged in HKD only for my first purchase. When I want to buy anything now, the prices are all of a sudden in EUR or USD (as soon as I click on the purchase button).
 
got Horn for 25p, even tho the gameplay is shallow as a dried up lake and the voice acting/script is terriblesauce, its still damn pretty to show off my nexus 7.

my 2nd usb-otg cable arrived yesterday (after the first, cheapest i could find, didnt work on my nexus 7), works perfectly, Riptide/Virtua Tennis/Shadowgun/GTA3 are all now actually playable games thanks to using my ps3 sixaxis pad (as playable as they can be on that horrible pad anyway).

oh and not gaming as such, but Nexus Media Importer is sex in an app

anything recommended that supports gamepad? (non rooted)
 
Rayman Jungle Run is surprisingly (or unsurprisingly) beautiful. Best looking Android game I've seen. It has autorun though, so the gameplay is only matter of swiping when you need to jump/fly but I think it's worth the 3$.

And Broken Sword on Android is just great. So glad I picked it up for 0.25$ even though I have it on PC already.
 
Beastie Bay is addictive (never played Pokemon). I went ahead and purchased it as I started to notice a bit of slowdown overall in the game, and figured it was the ads. Once I bought it, the slowdown seemed to have ceased.

I've had this game for three days now, and I'm fully invested in Carre Islands, and almost so with Metro.
 
The options in the PSX emu, FPSE, are a little confusing to me. Nothing ever seems to change the performance on Nexus 7. Is there a perfect combo of settings for that platform? Some games aren't quite there yet.
 
For people who bought Rebuild when it was 25 cents (or otherwise), there's a content update coming for it:

more content is coming to the iPad, iPhone, and Android versions of Rebuild [$2.99] via an update that should hit later this month. What's in it? A lot of new, cool-sounding features, including new random events, new endings, cannibalism, and the most exciting: seasons. Basically, winter is coming to Rebuild.

So it looks like Cytus is free on iOS today (normally $1.99). Trying to confirm if the same is true for the Android version, which uses a different monetization model.

Either way, good for a quick mediocre music game fix.

EDIT: Nope, nothing special going on with the Android version; it still makes you wait 30-40 seconds after picking a song before you can play it.
 
Anyone here have both FPSE and ePSXe? I'm reading that ePSXe now supports hardware acceleration like FPSE but I can't find any comparisons or video reviews for ePSXe. At nearly $4 bucks a pop per emu that is a little much so I'm using psx4droid at the moment but was wondering if anyone might be able to comment on either emu. Wondering how they would run on a Tegra 2 or Tegra 3.
 
Did Nimble Bit ever explain why the Android version of Tiny Towers is so bad?

The performance on my Galaxy Nexus is pretty bad compared to the iOS version on my OG iPad (half the CPU, 25% of the RAM) and it got this mobage crap that doesn't let me play offline.

I'm still playing it, but it's really bad during the elevator rides.

Stopped playing both of their games. The initial loading time for both is horrendous. I spent more time on the loading screen than on the actual game.
