CamScanner vs Google Drive scan. What do you think is better? CamScanner seems to be on sale at the moment for 1$ and it's interesting me a little bit. I think it won't be on sale for soon though.

i've had camscanner for a long time and never made the switch to drive scanner. if it ain't broke and all that

Seems like it was to me, you guys were talking about how mini phones aren't the same specs as their larger counterparts except for Sony. I was just saying that Motorola also made a smaller device with the same specs as its bigger phones.

ya we are saying the same thing.

Cant decide between Z1 or LGG2. Both are around 350-400. The Oppo Find 7a looks great too. What to do.
Damn. The G2 wins over the Z1 camera?? I was impressed when I read it has 20MP.

I'm not sure which one I would pick camera wise. Both are excellent, and I'd wager to say you'd be happy with either. That being said the Find 7a is probably the best of the 3 if its in the same price range.

I've decided to use my upgrade on the Moto X, that thing looks great. Is it possible for me to order it from the motomaker website with a verizon upgrade?

In term of ease of use, the G2 will take better pictures. Auto mode on the Z1 will only do 8mp and it's a grainy mess. Manual mode allows 20mp but only 4:3, you need to choose 15mp for 16:9. Even if your in manual mode it won't garantee a good pic.

We were talking about mini versions of high end flagship Android mobile handsets.

The G2 has the world's slowest autofocusing though.

Are there any plain rectangle looking phones out there? I have an HTC One but I'm looking to side/downgrade to something with decent specs and a better battery, as well.

So, I forget who it was that was going to buy an android head unit for their vehicle, any update on that?

Is anyone rocking(teehee) an android head unit in their cars?

It is on the slow side to focus, but it is one of the better Android cameras around. Did the autofocus on the Nexus 5 get much better? I had the Nexus when it first came out and the original camera app was horrible at focusing.

where is the best camera on android?

Best cameras on Android are probably between Sony, Samsung Galaxy and Note series, and the LG G2.

I have a Pioneer AppRadio 2, which supposedly lets you plug your phone in and control various apps via the large touchscreen. It's total shit, and everyone should avoid it at all costs.

I went to disneyland last weekend and I had with me a Z1, Iphone 5s ....and a Ricoh GR..

Guess which one took the best photo??

The GR destroys both smartphone, no contest...

It made me realize that smartphone camera are all just good enough but still doesn't compare to a high end point and shoot. The only thing that smart phone can do really really well are selfies....

I had the same conclusion a couple of years ago when I compared the Sony rx100 and the Nokia pureview 808.

Don't think you had to bring them all to come to that conclusion. Smartphone cameras will have nothing on dedicated cameras, even point & shoots, for a long time.
They're getting better for sure, and one day I do think smartphone cameras will be at par, or even better, than a P&S. But that time is not now, and anyone who wants to take proper photos to immortalize a vacation or trip should just go and get a proper camera.

Man I can't believe how badly I let the OP get out of date. Let me redeem myself, AndroidGAF.

The thing is that at this point a Moto X with updated specs including a solid camera and good sized battery will probably be the best regular sized phone because every other flagship is dancing around that phablet size.

I just got an Appradio 3 on clearance from Future Shop last week. With a rooted phone and arunchained, it's amazing. I use tasker to automate the fiddly stuff like making sure bluetooth is connected. It's the same as having your phone mounted in the dash. There's a GPS injector for it too, that will send the head unit's GPS data to the phone so you can use the increased accuracy from the head unit's GPS with your "unsupported" apps.

There's a android head unit??!!

My head unit would be nice if it ran android...I'm stuck with a Polyphony digital made head unit which is kinda feel dated.
