My best friend looked up a beetle guide and we took to her island (well past 9pm) and she just started beetle hunting (mostly rainbow stags). I hunt beetles and just patiently wait for sharks to show up.

The island is still a pretty good place to get bugs earlier in the day if you need some cash.

All these steps and make sure you're sneaking up on the beetles by holding A.
They fly away really easily and the hercules and golden stag beetles will fly away even while sneaking so you have to move even slower so as not to spook them off.

Why?

This way you don't run into the chance of accidentally scaring beetles on the two palm trees on the bottom. Also makes it so all you have to do is walk left and right to be able to see the trees, and minimize time spent walking around the island.

Why?

Because beetles that would spawn there slow you down. Why? With southern palms you have to take it slowly to avoid the potential beetles that spawn there from flying away (wasting a spawned beetle). That's because of the way the camera rolls.

Not all of them are that obvious if you don't know the works in question. For instance the sculpture with the wolf. The fake has one baby, the real has two. And that woman looking back painting is also quite hard if you've never seen it before. The fake faces left and the real one faces right.
