Just talking about how hey_monkey was acting a bit self sacrificing as a new player. Just seems a little too helpful. Nothing more than a hunch on a day with very little to go on.

I certainly don't care, but Burb or other mods may disagree.
Way I see it is that we don't allow post editing because we want to be able to accurately search someone's post history for suspicious behavior.
However, an edit within 60 seconds(which leaves no edit notification), probably wasn't seen by anybody anyway, and can't really be abused in any meaningful way.
Burb will most likely have to modkill me before I stop doing it.
But no, they're not allowed.

If town decides to lynch on day one, you will gain knowledge of the playing field. Yeah that would be good. BUT more likely then not, you will lynch your own. That one less villager for town and a path to a scum victory becomes that much more clearer.
A day one No Lynch would save that kill for later on.

Hardly. Your reasoning makes zero sense. If squidy-kun is indeed town and he claims a cop, that's basically a death sentence. He is almost guaranteed to be night killed and / or targeted. If I was scum, I would want him gone ASAP and would push for his lynch during the day so I can get rid of the claimed cop and then someone else at night with one stone.
However, I am town, and I believe he is town (for now) so I'm going to stick my neck out there and defend him.

If we lynch town, chances are there are going to be scum on the vote. End of day patterns and madness is also sugoi for analysis. Yeah we're down a townie but it's better to risk it and get info for later as opposed to letting scum pick and choose with no potential repercussions during the night phase.

The new ones are way more active than what I was (and am ) when I first played a game, I think this is great.
The other game I played with squid he was a godfather, though he's tonally different here from PW. I think it was a joke to jumpstart the discussion.

Gaijin Squidy-kun would never claim cop D1. Hell they'd never claim cop at all. The only alternative that makes sense is that he's town with a gambit of some kind.

Well, I'm personally fine with getting lynched if we can't come up with a better alternative. Better me than someone who can offer more to the town.
I mean, yeah, it means town goes down by 1 member, but there are far worse outcomes that can happen, like lynching the doctor (if there is one). The only person I know everything about is myself, meaning I know exactly what results from people voting for me.

Well, regardless, there's not much for us to go off of at this point. There's not really a good reason for me to give myself up so early since we have 0 information to go off of, and therefore 0 justification for me to believe that whatever direction we're going in is the wrong one.
From an outside perspective, I can see why my behavior would be suspicious since it means that I could be trying to cover for someone by "sacrificing" myself. My counter to that is that if I do get lynched and it is revealed I'm scum, it would paint a huge target on the person people were originally ganging up on.
All that said, there's not really anything I can do to force people to reconsider, so I'm just going to keep at it and hopefully discover the truth with you guys.
i think its shady because no one is buying the "we have no solid leads, so here lynch me" argument not because you are covering for someone

I dunno just remember positive feeling when going through his posts, felt much more like a genuine new player than say rac did to me.
Then again we have an amusing contradiction where poltergust is all 'aw shucks well lynch me, its okay' and Nomadic who is practically challenging people to lynch him.
They're both new players, so I would townread Poltergust more than Nomadic,
