did av3 get pushed back?
Of course they had to bring attention to it, seeing as their female solo movie is being delayed now.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this name is here to dampen the blow and this movie gets renamed later on under the guise of "the title just wasn't working"
It could end up being named Ant Man 2: Subtitle (with possibly a wasp mention in the subtitle rather than Wasp being part of the main title)
lol at the "LOOK! the first film in the MCU with a woman in the title!" when it's second billing and a sequel to a male solo.

Why?
What is it, that is awesome about her in your opinion?
I honestly don't know much about her and just imagines her as a female Superman, as I have yet to read the origin story. If someone can tell me which is her origin, then I will gladly buy it on Comixology.
We will take our scraps and like it, goddamn it.lol at the "LOOK! the first film in the MCU with a woman in the title!" when it's second billing and a sequel to a male solo.

I don't see the issue. It is good news, it's good news for the exact reason they're saying it is. There is middle ground between "this is shit" and "this is the #1 best thing".lol at the "LOOK! the first film in the MCU with a woman in the title!" when it's second billing and a sequel to a male solo.
Episode 8 is coming out in May 2017, and I think they want all mainline ones to be out in May after 7 releases.Um...aren't Star Wars movies set to come out in Nov / Dec? I suspect if you interlace the known Star Wars movies release dates; the schedule makes more sense.
I still haven't seen Ant-Man. Didn't want to out of principle. But let's be honest, how awesome would it have been to call it "Wasp and Antman" after how much more qualified she was established to be in the last film, haha. Either way I'm excited for her to be in the new film and for Antman to return as well.

They could've just called it 'The Wasp' and had Ant Man there as the secondary main character much like she was in 'Ant Man'.
Well except for the fact Wonder Woman the solo film is actually out before Ant Man and Wasp let alone Captain America. Wonder Woman is out in 2017, that kind of blows up the "baby steps" argument .Baby steps, my friend. Baby steps.
I mean, it's not like Batman v Superman mentions Wonder Woman in the title.
The fact she is in the title is big news.
Thought they were prepping the spin-offs as well? Gods, they want to do Avengers and Star Wars in the same month? Disney marketing must be en route to the main office to strangle everyone, lol.
The one big thing I could see for the Captain Marvel move is that Disney has a live-action fairy tale movie scheduled for its old slot (speculation it is Beauty and the Beast, ie, Emma Watson). Also, they would be then moving Captain Marvel to International Woman's Day per an earlier poster, which is a nice touch.
Part that worries me is that there has been no casting news for Captain Marvel, nor talks of a script. I suspect the movie is having issues on both fronts, alas.
EDIT: I feel bad for Ant-Man and the Wasp - the following month is Toy Story 4.
EDIT: According to Variety - I think we all might be wrong?? Either Marvel got their website wrong or Variety got their info wrong

Variety got it wrong on that one, its been pushed. They mixed up the years and thought it was pushed forward.Thought they were prepping the spin-offs as well? Here's IGN's pretty ok video on her: https://youtu.be/qGLzmnmkq5g

I think it's cool but to champion it as some amazing feat is dumb and definitely not something to boast about.I don't see the issue. It is good news, it's good news for the exact reason they're saying it is. There is middle ground between "this is shit" and "this is the #1 best thing".
Goddamn it Marvel, stop pushing back Captain Marvel's release date! Should have gone up against Wonder Woman.

I think besides Iron Man your guess is spot on.If I'd have to take a guess; Spider-Man 2, Iron Man 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
That would only make sense if he's the clear second lead, which there's no way he will be

Very interesting, thank you. I feel I understand a bit better now why Carol Danvers is seen as an important character for the representation of woman.
My problem with the character comes only from the stories that I've read with her in it. I simply found her dull. I do not know who her nemesis is, what her breakout plots are, etc.
Even of the ones Marvel has under control, I always preferred She-Hulk, Black Widow, Wasp, Spider-Woman, (thanks to Agents of Shield) Quake and Mockingbird. Not to mention the newer ones like Kamala Khan, Kate Bishop and Jessica Jones. Let alone all the fantastic X-women: Rogue, Emma Frost, Storm, Jean, Kitty Pride...
I know. That's what I was saying. And I know he won't be but there's no reason he can't be. I'm guessing the movie isn't written yet.
Carol is dull - under dull writers.
she's been interesting under Busiek and Bendis.

I'd say they built up Black Widow enough that she could have easily sustained her own solo film in Phase 3.Marvel doesn't actually own the license to any female character that is a quarter as well known as Wonder Woman. They have had to build up most of their characters in the movies. DC has always had about half of the top 10 most well known heroes (prior to the superhero explosion) and it has taken them until 2017 to attempt anything other than Batman, Super Man and Green Lantern (which they promptly ruined).
I'd say they built up Black Widow enough that she could have easily sustained her own solo film in Phase 3.
Doing that would only be likely to reduce both films revenues and reinforce the notion that female led superhero movies are less marketable, profitable, or worthwhile. The less competition between those movies the better the chances of more like them.
I was hoping for a Widow/Hawkeye buddy picture.

Not to mention the fact that Wonder Woman would likely wipe the floor with a Captain Marvel movie due to each character's recognition if nothing else.
