I sincerely doubt people draw, dress up as, and create stories about human sized animals with no attraction to actual animals. They get the basis for it out of something based out of reality, and something that a disturbed subset of our race actually participate in. Even if someone showed you a picture of Star Fox or Falco, while it obviously doesn't exactly look like a fox or bird, you can obviously tell what animals they're based on. The art is based off things taken out of reality. They're not making these features up out of thin air. They're modeling things to remind you of actual animals. That is the point of the characters. That's why you can look at a pony from My Little Pony and without being told anything about it, identify it as a horse. These people are still attracted to aspects of animals that exist in the real world.

I think the haters might be the bigger issue here because they ruin the fun for everyone including people who love stuff like SWAT Kats and Star Fox by pointing out the gross rule-34 drawings that we would otherwise ignore. You walk in a door, see something you don't like, you walk away. You don't stand in the doorway and whine about it.

I'd rather play games with no anthropomorphic animals in it. It just doesn't appeal to me. It's that same with Fantasy. Trolls, Elves and Orcs are just as dumb to me.

This is basically how I feel. Everything you listed is kind of off-putting to me. Though it wouldn't single handedly stop me from giving a game a shot if it seems to be otherwise compelling.

I won't ever play Wolf Among Us because Telltale sucks (HATE the Walking Dead), but my understanding is that Bigby is just a man. Not a problem to me. As for Beast, he's not anthro, to me. He's not an animal, he's just a man who is covered in hair. There's a difference there to me. If he was clearly a 'fox-man' or a 'wolf-man' etc, then I'd hate it.

A person does not have a fetish involving everything that they have fapped to.

So there's no possible way I could have a fetish for any or all of those things, even though they all were fapped to at some point.

I don't see what is supposed to be so wrong with being a sexual deviant in the first place. Most of the time, as far as the vast preponderance of humanity is concerned, it's none of my business, doesn't affect me, and would be a silly reason for me to start actively disliking any certain aesthetic or activity.

Lucky me, I guess,
I'm free to either like or dislike a game with anthropomorphic animals in based on merits such as "is it fun?", "is it annoying in some way?", or just, basically, "do I like to play it?".

TL?R? - Anthropomorphic animals do not influence my buying decisions, and while I can see how some people may be more inclined to buy a game with such characters in it due to their interests, I find it pretty strange that so many people avoid those games because they apparently can't stop thinking about people fapping to animals with people-like qualities and wanting to have sex with people who wear animal suits.
Also, fetish is not a word to describe everything that any given person has fapped to.

I think this is a good post that should be read, I have very similar feelings on aversion fads.

Overgrowth isn't being made by furries. Often times when a game uses anthro characters like that some people ask, why use anthro characters? The dev behind overgrowth actually bothered to answer that in a blog post.

Thanks. I think it is a bit bloated. I wish I could express my feelings on the subject much more succinctly while not losing anything. That post just kind of kept going while I was typing it.

Anyway, your post was immediately aggressive and attacked someone for having some sort of imagined agenda. You took a call for tolerance as a call for acceptance and got all bent out of shape.
