Just got an glock 19 gen 4 love it although the $569 I paid seems high prices are going up in flocks it seems. I also have an Bushmaster M4 which I added magpul parts on , think I'm gonna throw an eotech on there soon. My first which I bought around 5 months ago is an good ole Taurus .357 7 shot revolver.

Does anyone here own a Ruger SR9C, or have much experience with them? I am closing in on hopefully purchasing one, as soon as I can afford it.

Nope, but I would say to look very closely at a SW MP compact. Couple more bucks, but apparently a bit better and great after market support.

Either I made up lies about the Boston Bomber or I fell for someone else's crap. Either way, I have absolutely no credibility and you should never pay any attention to anything I say, no matter what the context. Perm me if I claim to be an insider
My friend just got an FN FNX. Never heard of the gun before. I want one really, really bad now. Came with 3 mags!

Request advice.
Today I shot a gun fir the first time! I am looking to purchase one for home defense. Married, live in a house, 4 year old daughter. I will use it for target practice as well. I used a S&W 686-1 '6 which I liked a lot. I also shot with a smaller gun tol but am not sure which one. The trigger on the 686 was heavenly in comparison. My question is whats a good price for said weapon? The shop was asking $750 plus tax. Also, i know that many recommend a shot gun for home defende but our halls are somewhat tight so not much room. Finally, what do you recommend for storage?

Shotgun with a pistol grip and folding stock with the barrell sawed off to the legal minimum is what I have.

Though now that I have a kid it's never loaded under my bed like it used to be so it's kind of useless. Ah well.

I don't let this thread die. Just for you Manos.

Got a M1895 Nagant this weekend from AIM.

The thing was packed with grease. Completely disassembled it and soaked all the parts in Simple Green. Scrubbed it clean and put it back together. Can't wait to shoot it.

Finally shot this piece of shit. Off to the safe it goes.

That good?

Was invited to shoot this weekend. What is everyone's 5.56 ammo of choice? Wolf?

The trigger is something else. I can barely pull it with one finger. Shoots like a .22 and is horribly inaccurate even at 10 yards. In order to get the brass out you have to poke it out with the supplied poker that is built into the gun.

I use Wolf and Tula .223. I don't think Wolf makes 5.56.

How much was ammo for the Nagant?

What are some good, reliable handguns for concealed carry? I've been meaning to make a purchase for quite some time, several months to be exact' but I just have no idea what are decent models. That and I've been too preoccupied with work.

You'll have to shoot them to see what you're comfortable with. Guns of that size have huge differences in handling. Hell just switching from regular 9mm ammo to +p short barreled ammo makes my PF9 almost unusable due to the increased recoil.

So I'd first decide what caliber you want, then pick a good gun from that caliber.

Glock 26
Smith & Wesson M&P 9 Shield
CZ 75 P-01

I recently finally narrowed down my purchase (full size) to a M&P 9. I finally got around to trying out each of the guns I wanted at the range, which consisted of a Glock 17, Glock 19, M&P 9, CZ-75 SP-01, Springfield XD9, Sig P226 and a Browning Hi-Power.

Fell in love with the M&P and I have read that many that do concealed carry now prefer the Shield over Glock variants. I recommend going to the range and trying each on for size, considering form factor for CC a lot changes in comfort level at that size.

Thanks for the advice. What does everyone recommend for home defense? I've had 2 attempted break-ins this past year and I feel like it's time to arm myself before something terrible happens. Handgun, AR, shotgun, any suggestions welcome.

Shotgun for sure. Or get a S&W Governor.

I highly recommend subbing to hickok45 on Youtube. He does in depth reviews of a wide variety of firearms.

So anyone visit any shops recently? How true is it that stores are selling out or withholding stock?

Just check gunbroker. Stripped lowers are going for $300 and up. PMAG's are going for 5 for $300. It's nuts. I bought 5 PMAG's friday and got them monday. Put them up on gunbroker and they are already at $65 with 4 days left. I paid $66 for them.

Visited my LGS today, all ARs sold out (35 in one day) Glocks almost gone, PMAGs, glock mags, gone. Don't even think about .223 or 9mm ammo, reloading components are still widely available. I heard that the NCIS actually went down for about an hour this afternoon. The panic is in.

I back ordered 10 pmags today, probably won't see them until February.

I have never seen it so busy. Ever.

im in the market for a pistol, and going to websites they seem to be slower or not even loading half the damn time. one website i just visited has a popup that says expect delays of up to 2 weeks. some of this obviously has to do with xmas.

Yep. Shit is crazy. All tactical rifles are sold out except the .22LR models. I bought a Colt LE 6920 today and was told the wait was 2-3 months. I have a feeling that is optimistic too.

Yea, I'm going to the shop tomorrow in my area just to get some ammo for the range and I'm planning to price a semi-auto. My only hope is that I'm in NY and since we already have a ban here it's business as usual....

You might be in luck. Here in Texas during the worst of times you can usually still find the CA compliant rifles but even those are gone here.

Going to a gun show on the 29th in hopes of getting a good deal on an AR-15, or at least a lower. The problem is I don't actually get paid until two days later. :/ I'm not getting my hopes up.

I'd be happy with a .22 LR model as long as the lower is multi-caliber.

This is after a lot of stores already broke records after Obama was re-elected last month. Crazy. Good time to be selling.

Gun shows here in FL usually are crazy busy already, can't imagine now. I wonder if many retailers are even going to be bringing much stock since it sounds like some are holding back stuff to raise prices in case of shortages.

Going to my gun store after work to check out the madness. If they have my Smith and Wesson 627 V-Comp still I may just go ahead and get it.

I was going to buy some guns as an investment before the election, but put it off. Then just before the school shooting I was about to go gun shopping but put it off again. I am a total idiot. :|

Remember when Walmart said they weren't going to sell semis anymore? Well that turned out to be "come load up because we aren't going to restock for awhile" advertising.

Bump fire stocks, so is there some way to insure it fires in semi auto only or is it all about manual trigger control? Most ranged won't allow you to rapid fire so I don't know if they would allow the gun with it on to be used unless you can reliably fire it in semi. Would be awkward if it's randomly bursting and full auto by accident. How easy is it to operate? It's not good for the gun though right?

Can' find a single P-mag anywhere and now Magpul is backordered through January.

Battlemonkey
The slide fire has a place to rest your finger to maintain bump fire. But, yeah it's manual trigger control.

How much have AR prices risen lately? I purchased a colt AR-15 in September for $800. It is the full rifle size, not the M4 style. I wonder how much I can flip this thing in a few months.

Grr. I've been thinking about buying a AR or similar for a while now... seems too late.

What about a mini-14?

I was also looking at a ruger gunsite scout rifle... its a bolt action so it should be (somewhat) easier to find eh?

HBPaw.jpg

looks fucking pimp.

I just picked up a Performance Centre 627 (not the v-comp) and a 686 Canadian (4.18" legal barrel).

I was never a big revolver guy, but man, I can't get enough of S&W stuff.

I still don't have my dream revolver, though. 6" nickel Python. Maybe in 2014.

Pretty much everything Ruger makes is great. Ammo might be hard to come by right now depending on the round.

It's .308 I believe.

I just love the fact they make a left handed model. I've never had the pleasure of shooting a proper left handed bolt action, always had to do the awkward reach around.

I also like that it is setup for a long eye relief scope, I am left handed but right eye dominant so it has aways been weird to line up a regular scope for me.

I figure since it is not in danger of being banned (but who knows... it is a decidedly "militarized" rifle) and I would probably have to order the less popular left handed model anyway I may be able to get it in a semi-reasonable time frame? Or maybe I am dreaming.

I would search for it on Armslist. A lot of the sellers are dealers and will transfer to your local dealer for a nominal fee.
