I played for about 1.5 hours. So far, my impression is quite positive.
It's Nintendo and somehow the gameplay is a bit different from others.
Several modes included (from my memory):
1. exhibition
2. challenge (during the match, it needs to fulfill some criterias)
3. mini game
4. training
5. records
6. options

The control is quite differnt from normal baseball games as it has 'power move'. The interface is quite interesting and the characters are all web-animated imo.
Can't wait for the soccer. Just hope Nintendo also give us a some thing new interface/control methods.

Tell us more about this power move. Is it annoying and does it break up the pace like Mario Tennis? If so that sucks. I hate that power move little movie in MT.

You never played Super Baseball 2020, Baseball Stars, or the best arcade-style baseball game ever, Baseball Stars 2 on the Neo-Geo before?

Griffey was a Baseball Stars 2 rip-off, just choppier.

I've always wanted a good baseball game in the Mario universe, actually. Baseball lasts a long time, and is fun, but I don't care about sims of any sport.

Be careful...if your GC isn't modded or you don't have a JP GC then the freeloader hasn't been working with many first party titles...
