Anyone camping at gamestop for switch 2 preorder??

I did a complete 180 on the console. Too much time passed from the original plan and I don't see myself dropping the money now until later this year for holiday gifting - maybe.

Walmart

was the right move.

I also pre-ordered a physical copy of Mario Kart... Walmart says it'll arrive the 6th lol

I have been refreshing the Best Buy app and haven't seen shit yet
Best Buy sleep

Go to Target.

I just bought the MK Bundle

I had Best Buy, Walmart and Target all open and refreshing on midnight and still missed the Kart bundle. I did secure a system on Target though despite a laggy glitchy checkout.

Edit: I looked again because you're all talking about the MKW bundle at Target and it was available. I only ordered the normal system because that appeared sold out at 12:01.

So now I have two preorders lol.

Second Edit: I got through the line at Walmart, and preordered another Mario Kart bundle with 20 seconds to spare, just in case.

Then, I checked my email and saw Target cancelled my preorders.

So I'm really glad I ordered that third Switch, now it's my first Switch.

Be wary...

This was a pretty miserable experience but Walmart made it right. FFS target your fails were awful. Glitch, then hammering my CCard so it gets declined 3 times and then totally failing. Meanwhile Walmart just queued me for 43 minutes then let me in and it took like 7 seconds for me to buy the damn thing. And Walmart was 0.99 cheaper.

In my case, I'm getting the day off with pay. Over the last 8 years, I've purchased a PS4, digital PS5, Xbox Series S and X, SEVEN various Switches, and a Steam Deck OLED. I'm getting this on day one.
No offense but you ain't even seen a cartoon tit man! :)

Who am I kidding I'll be right there with you!

All the sites were fucked, managed to snag the non-bundle from Walmart app after realizing the bundle page was borked bc it was sold out.
Target cancelled my bundle.

So i got the bundle and non bundle ordered at Walmart. Target bundle popped up so I ordered it there. It canceled on me right away and I was able to reorder it again. Will probably cancel the bundle at Walmart since its saving me $25 at Target.

People still camp Gamestop? I haven't done that since OG MW2 release

That was the last game I queued for aswell. Me and my best mate went to Asda (UK supermarket) around an hour before launch. There must have been over 500 people there with the qué snaking all around the store. We finally get to the front and I get my copy and my mate gets asked for ID (were both 19ish at the time) has no ID and gets refused a copy. I asked if I could get a copy for him and get told it's only one copy per person haha fond memories.

Wow, this has given me flashbacks to reading EDGE magazine back in the mid 90s, when they talked about the queues in Japan to get the PlayStation and Saturn.

I seem to recall seeing a claim that the queues could grow to a mile long (I'm sure that was an exaggeration, though).

I'm outside GameStop right now playing switch and watching anime with my nephew. Bunch of cool guys here chilling out and waiting. Could probably have showed up at 5am, but whatever. Our only GS in town has 59 units.

You've got me curious now. I could see a line growing to possibly a mile long if it had like 2 to 3 thousand people in it. This was also set in the 90s in Tokyo so lining up would be more of the norm back then.

I had Best Buy, Target, and Walmart tabs opened and logged in at midnight. That was also my planned order of preference. Best Buy didn't go live until 12:30 and then was an endless queue that never went anywhere. Target let me put one in my cart right at midnight but couldn't complete my payment after many attempts, then it emptied my cart and was "sold out." Walmart actually came through after a short "wait in line" I was able to checkout without issue and got a confirmation email. What a cluster fuck.

I waited 10 minutes.
I waited 43. From 11:58 to 12:41. I spent that whole time trying to get a payment through at Target and saw the background change and jumped on it. I have to wonder if they really did queue people or just put some RNG in there. FFS how could it take 40 minutes if I got in that quick?

I'll get there 45 mins before store open and hope for the best. Never seen a long camp line at my GS before.

*I have a bunch of GS gift cards I got 20% off, so I didn't try online preorders last night
