Anyone else got the next-gen fever?

Not excited at all. The games are just what we've seen this gen with slightly better graphics and lots of physics.

I'll be excited when we see something truly spectacular.

It's hard to get too excited about new franchises because we still don't know much about the games. We only know bits and pieces from very early revisions. We'll get a better idea come November.
Actually those new franchizes are what excites me the most! (as you can see from my list in one of the previous posts) However, I don't expect those games to be ready for launches, or anytime soon.

Right. But I mean there are usually hidden gems that don't pop up until near launch as they don't seem too exciting in early versions...

I.E. Halo Xbox

I.E. SSX PS2

I'm getting the next gen. fever but I'm still perfectly happy with this gen.

I've got games I stll want to play, and besides next gen's offering won't be fine tuned right away,it is first gen. stuff after all. In contrast next generation takes you to that new starting point again. It will sorta be *raw* and undeveloped(or untapped if you will) when you take into account what we have right now.

On the other hand-show me the tradition Sega games at the 360 and PS3 launches and I'll have the fever a whole lot more:)

There isn't a single game which makes me excited of next generation...It's all so dried out to me...Games will be much more expensive to develop too, so there won't be games like Katamari Damashii.

:lol :lol :lol

Not at all. If anything I got the next-gen blues.

So much crap. So much BS. So much fanboy spin.

This is the 4 generational transition that I can clearly remember, and by far, BY FAR, the most underwhelming. 6 months out and we're hearing the excuse that the hardware isn't done, with the assumption that the games will magically become Pixar-caliber masterpieces. The games are the same exact garbage from this gen, but with a new label. Had some franchises I enjoyed been shown, perhaps something could have piqued my interests. All three hardware manufacturer's new innovations are obscured by secrecy, vague comments and idiotic smiles. The only thing we know for sure, is that its going to cost us more money to play as the publisher's find every way imaginable to reach into my wallet.

I swear, if I ran Square-Enix, I give Final Fantasy 13 away for free. But remove all in-game money, and force you to purchase every store item with real cash. Need a iron sword... 25 cents; need a potion.... a nickel. Not only would a bunch you guy think it's a wonderful idea, but some of you guys would defend it, vehemently, like I was being generous.

No. I'm mostly playing rpg's which I've ignored and don't really rely on flashy graphics.

Plus my current two exciting platforms are gba and saturn.

I'm kind of ticked that I may fold on the 360 on launch because of the online service.

I've still got the current gen fever and I don't see that ending anytime soon. I still have too many Xbox, GCN, and PS2 games to finish before I even think about picking up a next gen system.

By the time 360 launches I definitely want a 50 + inch HDTV sitting in my living room to go with my surround sound system. Hopefully I'll have that come November! I'm ready for next gen and current gen games seem meh to me now.

Not in the least yet

like Mr_Furious said when they finally show some REAL games running on final ACTUAL hardware then maybe I'll get excited

Nope, not really. I'm looking forward to it, yes, but mostly because along with the new gen, it will be bringing new Ninja Gaiden and DMC games. I don't even really care what they look like I just want new ones.

I am looking forward to the xbox360 controller though. That should be sweet.

I mostly play RPGs, and while I would love better looking games, I feel the high cost of next gen will only bring unusually short RPGs with the play time artificially extended by mind-numbing, repetitive mini-games and sidequests. That happened to some extent this gen.

Yeah, I have the feeling that I'll never be able to play a game from this gen again...anyway...off to complete the games that I'm currently playing:

Gothic 2 (GBA)
Fire Emblem (GBA)
FF4 (SNES)
Sub Rebellion (PS2)

I haven't had Nextgen fever since pre- PS and N64 era. That's when all the screenshots made me cream my pre-pubescent pants.

Depends on my finances at the end of year/what I'm interested in. I might buy a PS2, but I won't be buying any semblance of a game that looks better on my Xbox.

When Virtua Fighter 5 is revealed, I might catch the fever.

At the very least, I'd like more X360 info (release date, final price, what's in the box, what titles will make launch, and what Xbox1 games will work on the hardware).

It's hard to be excited about "potential".

No. Things could change so drastically between now and the year after the three launches (i.e. when each console becomes viable) that there's absolutely no reason for me to have my mouth at the teat already. I have far too many current-gen and previous-gen games to play, anyway.

Yeah.

Everything I hear about Oblivion makes it sound like thats the game to get a new console this year. I can't wait to play it. And the great thing about it is you can wait to play it on the PS3 in a few years, get it on the PC when the Xbox 360 version hits, or just buy a new console for it. But I want it now, and I want it on a console.
