I moved from Maryland to California (pretty much all of my family is in Maryland, no one I knew lived in California) 5 days after I graduated. You'll be fine.Dr. Feel Good said:I'm graduating in May and luckily got a solid job right out of school thanks to our career fair, but I'll be moving to Wisconsin (from Minnesota, go to school in Iowa) where I don't know a single person. Anyone ever been in the situation before? The idea of going out on my own exciting and starting all over is cool but the idea is pretty scary I guess.

zesty said:I'll be unemployed as of Saturday, although it is by choice. I hate my job more intensely than I could ever put into words, so I finally put in my notice a couple weeks ago. My wife has a new gig lined up that she starts on Monday and I'll be hitting the staffing places hard. I've had excellent luck with them in the past and I'm glad to see that they are being well received in this thread.

Level with me, that online university stuff is a major scam right?Marleyman said:I do recruiting for an online university and I fucking hate it. I do it mainly because of the money, but lately I have been out of it completely; just not giving a fuck. I may be unemployed in about 30 days or so. My soon to be wife is making good money but I don't want to just contribute unemployment checks. Good luck to all.

This thread is very depressing.

B.K. said:I'm in the same position as you. I've worked for my parents off and on since I got out of highschool. I don't have any real experience doing anything. That, combined with being stuck in the area with the highest unemployment in the entire state (23.4%) and don't have enough money to get away.

Another thing that will take the piss is come May jobs will be even harder to find because all the college and uni students will start applying for jobs around then. I have to go Job Centre tommorow to sign my dole, but I wish I did not have to, I just want a fucking job, even if it is a lame retail job. I'd have never thought that after finishing my degree I would not even be able to find a retail job, what the fuck.
Carl said:How long you been on the dole? I've been on 6 months now. Apparently they will soon expect me to go to a place and do 5 hours of job hunting a week. God knows how the expect me to fill 5 hours with it.
