Yeah, not bad. RJJ wasn’t very active and tried to tie up almost the entire time, but I don’t blame him. He doesn’t have the power to go head to head or the cardio to stay on the outside. He was still very elusive against head shots.

Good workout, and better than i expected, but its obvious they werent going for head shots, Tyson anyway.
Jones was still fighting 2 years ago, and Larry Holmes last fight was when he was 53. I dont know why the council just couldnt let them go for it.

It hurt my heart to see Nate knocked out like that. It would be nice to see Paul fight Conor and get humiliated.

I also think Mike was holding back a bit. They both looked pretty good considering their age, but Mike looked like he was pulling his punches and not finishing his combos. He went body to head his whole career, but I think he stopped short as he had no real interest in hurting RJJ. Love both of these guys, so it was cool that they didn't embarrass themselves.

Watching that Nate vs Paul fight should've been called after the first knockdown. He did not make the count properly and was unable to continue.

I think a rematch is justified, yes Roy is better but one Tyson punch is 1000x better, I hope there’s a rematch this proves celebrity fights makes people feel better. Tyson likely wins his next fight, he was a simple combo away from killing Roy.

They should do a 'legends' league for retired boxers, MMA, Muay Thai etc. fighters.

You have to be over 40 to join and there is no testing so roids are cool.

Roy isn't fit for this weight class, did he even ever box Heavyweight? I'm really only familiar with Roy from Calzaghe and his career was over at that point. Of course the ring being smaller and these guys having less movement didn't help.

But best of all, Humble Mike is best Mike. It's like he's enlightened. There are glimpses of the warrior when he's in the zone, but outside he's amazing. I need to watch more of his podcast.

that was a tough, clean fight

have to watch again from different angles, the camera operator on the ground snorted moon dust before the fight

It was watchable enough, there is something so fascinating about Tyson's style and movement even after all these years. To say you spent 50 bucks to see some 50 year olds fight and feel like you got your moneys worth means there's probably enough juice to do another go-round (not necessarily with Roy though).

Even knowing it's a grift, hearing Jake Paul say he "broke his nose meditating" and hadn't sparred until a couple days ago, followed by immediately saying he could knock McGregor out made me mad and want to see him get his shit slapped. Mission accomplished. As long as they don't put him against anyone remotely real they should be able to make a lot of money with freak show fights with him for a while.

Vinny Paz didn't disappoint with the judging. Should've got Vinnie. It was obvious they wanted the draw, the gasping, clinching aside I enjoyed the fight. The body shots from Mike made me wince a few times. I thought they got to Roy when the rounds got reduced from 8 to 6. The error was corrected.

Roy did well, he survived Mike & got some good shots in.

Tyson fighting this weekend brought back a lot of fond memories. I thought he looked incredible given his journey from the end of his professional boxing career til now. Love the man, he is a true one of a kind athlete in my eyes.
No doubt the fight was a little tame, but it was close enough to a real fight to have fun with it.

No doubt Tyson still looked good. He looked much better than Jones, despite Jones being a bit younger and way more active fighting. Tyson hadn't fought in 15 years. Jones 3 years. Yet Jones looked gassed and half flabby. Tyson still looked like a rock and he could still move with the way he does that quick toe stepping thing where he tries to quickly move in for power shots. Jones looked like an old guy who barely resembled a hall of fame boxer.
