Waking up to the news that Jake Paul won definitely sucks.

Haven’t seen the fight yet, is it even worth watching?

I only saw the highlights on ESPN and Tyson fought like a 60 year old man.
The funny thing, is that Jake also fought like a 60 year old man.
Myke can be excused for it, because he is old. But Jake was just pathetic.
That dude couldn't even be a decent journeyman.

What the hell happened, I woke in the middle of the night to watch this, hell I even woke my son to come watch with me lol, was an absolute farce, where was the Tyson from the training videos where he showed speed and aggression, all I seen was a geriatric throw a few punches and shuffle around the ring, Jake for all his faults seemed to me to be holding back, either out of wanting to drag this the distance/respect for Tyson or genuinely afraid he might get a sly hook and knocked the fuck out.

Was terrible all around and now I have netflix for a month, fair play to Netflix not charging extra for this so it all cost me was a fiver although their streaming took a hit, with a few buffers and drops in quality but that's the last time I get up an "event" like this

And Jakes thinks he's the face of boxing and could beat Canelo? lol. Jake Paul said after this fight that Canelo "needs him". The arrogance is off the scale.

I hope Canelo or any other pro boxer doesn't give Jake the time of day. The men who step into the ring and fight Canelo have spent most of their lives grinding in the gym and the ring to get a title shot. Jake Paul thinks he can walk into the ring with Canelo after beating 58 year old Tyson? Fuck off, Jake Paul.

Chill. It’s all posturing, it’s all a show, a dance. Promoters love it, has nothing to do with sport. You want good boxing check the Olympics.

Not surprised at all at the outcome. The only thing that surprised me is how few punches Mike threw. I think Jake Paul could have probably KO'd him anytime after the 3rd round, but he has way too much respect for Mike so took it easy on him in the last half of the match.

Selective editing. Big difference between being explosive for a few seconds during training and maintaining your stamina for an 8-round fight. While having to actually respond to a much, much younger opponent's moves.

But he was slow from the get go, and it's 2 minute rounds in an exhibition fight, he should have the stamina and fitness to last that

Nah, he got to walk back out to a PACKED house and put on a little show. He slept well last ninight.

He never needed those money at almost 60 years of age. He can already afford what he wants. It's the people around him who needs the money.

Taking punches to the head at this age can't be good. It's just sad.

Yeah, seems many got bamboozled by quick training clips. I can look like a fighter hitting a punching bag too. It doesn't move around or hit back lol.

I was looking at polls on who people thought would win. It was 90% for Mike. I'd pick Jake and be part of the "haters" or idiots that don't realize what a monster Mike is. No, I saw his fight Vs. Roy Jones 4 years ago and knew what we were in for last night. He looked like shit 4 years ago, he wasn't going to be better with another 4 years of decay. It's sad and I almost shed a tear TBH. Father time is ruthless.

As much as i wanted Tyson to win, i don't think he will be too bothered given how much money he has made.

Tyson/Paul Fight was totally rigged, scripted, and a waste of everyone’s time. Paul could have easily knocked out Tyson in the first round - when Tyson took a jab, he dropped his hands. Tyson also almost fell over a few times just from lack of balance

A disgraceful farce, anyone who doesn’t feel robbed of their time after watching this needs to seek psychiatric help.

It’s a spectacle, I was entertained by the fight but it was not high quality boxing. Also it was kind of sad to see Tyson struggle so much, but at the same time it was nice to see him back in the ring with all that goes with it you could tell it made him really happy just being there soaking it up.

The Taylor Serrano fight was fun. There was obviously a lot of tension between these two. Glad to see Taylor won especially with all the trash talk from the Serrano side after the fight. Totally inappropriate to go off like that, felt like WWE at times, but it added even more drama for the next rematch if it happens.

I did not watch the the fights before.

Serrano was upset because Taylor has been known to headbutt her opponents. She did it in her other fights supposedly. Whether it was intentional in this fight or just her style the way she leans, is debatable. Boxing/professional fighting is all about the money now, nothing more nothing less. They'll be a rematch for sure.

The only round with real action was the first, then Paul carried Tyson through the rest of the "fight"

I agree and degree at the same time.
Mike's old trainer said if Mike is truly fit to fight even at his age the match would be short lived based on what he has seen from Paul.
If he's not, then it's clearly a rigged fight not matter who wins.
If he is and he loses, it's a rigged fight.
I'm going to lean towards Mike being unfit to fight.

I guess you can't really tell that a nearly 60 year old man isn't that in shape from 10 second TikTok feed clips of him training lol
Mike didn't even try, it was a big final payday for someone who isn't fit to fight professionally.
You can even tell Jake didn't want to hurt him because he was scared of what might happen if Mike unleashed on him
one proper hook from Mike would have ended the fight, and he gave him a few that didn't even rough him up.
Both left without a mark.
This is the dude people think genuinely beat Mike Tyson

Forget that it's Mike Tyson, just a in shape 58 giving a 27 a hook would not be pretty.
Now add the fact that the 58 year old is Mike Tyson.
Even in a professional fight with a professional boxer, sure Mike will likely lose due to endurance.
But if he lands that hook regardless of age, it'll rock them just the same as Mike in his Prime
None of the pros believe the fight was real, it was just easy money for both of them.
And Mike needed it.

Dont watch it. Rigged fight where Tyson stood there and did nothing all match. Funny how in practice clips he's super strong and moving around. But in the fight he stood there like a clown. They stretched out the fight to all 8 rounds as Paul barely tried too.

Did you ever watch the Tyson vs Roy Jones fight where both guys barely tried? This Paul fight was even worse than that one.

One big money grabbing scam.

Fuck Jake Paul.
You know, I was talking to my son this morning and as much as I wanted to see Jake get his clock cleaned, I have a new found respect for him. I think after the third round, he could have taken out Tyson at anytime or at least punished him and he didn't. Now, his tweaker brother, holy cow. What an ass hat....

He was in a knee brace which means he was kind of screwed from the get go. Power comes from being able to pivot. In the later rounds he was shuffling no footwork or anything. I bet in the second round, his knee just said, "dude we had an agreement, first round knockout or the pain is getting worse every round." You could see he wasn't picking up his foot. Just more like sliding.

Does Mike have a lot of money problems? I didn't hear about that.
I dont know the exact details, but pretty sure from what I remember the guy was always broke. Even when he made like half a billion during his prime, he blew it all. Early in his career he was making so much money he could float it. But when he started losing, divorce and such it all disappeared.

Google it. The guy even had tigers.

Maybe in modern day after he does some of these freak show fights for big money he's stable now. But in the 90s he was a mess.

He is doing okay, but he is in recovery mode.
All the money he earnt he lost over a long period.
He was worth $300 million and drop as low as $2 million but has gradually got back up to $15 Million.
Which is not what a Boxer wants to retire with in the end.
This will give a nice boost.

You’ve got to love the "it was rigged" crowd

Yea Right GIF

You are overlooking the extensive consequences that would unfold if proof emerged showing the fight was rigged

Imagine the shitstorm they would get if proof came out that it was rigged

It would damage the credibility of everyone involved. Boxing is already struggling with credibility. It would face a massive trust crisis. Sponsors and broadcasters would sever ties, and promoters would face legal repercussions for fraudulent activity

Jake Paul is just the modern day Shawn Michaels (WWF). He collects money based on how much you hate him.

Tyson owes that dude a ton for gifting him that purse.
