So I've got a Seiko Kinetic I recieves as a gift, and I can't figure out what the button does.

For reference, here's a picture of the watch:

The button is right by the minute hand, extended out from where the 2 is. I've got no clue what it does.

Also, how does the indicator work? As far as I can tell, it doesn't move or do anything at all.
