New information on the realease of "DARKWATCH" which is scheduled for release on the Xbox in the spring of 2005 and will be Xbox Live capatible.

What is Darkwatch?

Darkwatch is a new game from Sammy Studios that was featured at E3 last year and created a buzz.

No, I joined because I'm a fan of video games and I'm just spreading the word about Darkwatch. But atleast you have a sense of humor compared to the other posts I have read.

If this is considered SPAM...even though this is Video Game related, then I'm sure the mods on this forum will properly delete this thread.

I'm not trying to dis-respect any of the users on this site.

Darkwatch looks pretty interesting to me... there are a few of us on this board that have kept an eye on it's progress. I could care less about viral marketers. It's just part of the business these days. However, you wold probably be more effective if you tried to get to know the peope of GAF first. At least watch the forum for a few days. Then you would know that these hit and run posts won't help you sell one copy of the game. We're more of a wine and dine crowd... you make fuck us in the end, but it'll take a lot more work. ;)
 
I dont think he's a viral marketer, but he's trying to get points for his little fan club by posting a referral link. Isnt that considered spam? Lock this up.

Most people look at that way when it comes to most unknown games and honestly I cant blame them either since I do it myself. All i can really say about that is, you cant always go by the opinions of someone else's especially when they are getting paid to do so. I have liked many games that received horrible reviews. To each their own.

Money-grubbing bastards. Fellow, rest assured good ol' paul here will pick up Darkwatch regardless of what the "reviewers" say. Darkwatch.org PRIDE.
 
I liked the trailer vid from a while ago and I'm a sucker for any game in which you can take both sides, but unless the reviews are 8.5+ I'll wait for a heavy price drop.

I understand what your saying, but 8.5? If thats for any game then you have some high standards. :lol I personally will buy a game that recieves anything over a 7. But if I'm interested in a game that receives terrible reviews...I sill rent it. I did that with Killzone, it go mediocre reviews at many sites but I still played it and thought it was really good...Not the "Halo Killer" that Sony made it put to be, but definatly not bad.

Also, The taking both sides thing, I think thats what will set this game apart from many other FPS. Its surely taking a different aproach in this genre.

EDIT: Since we have the PSP price prediction thread, I'll make the first prediction on this thread. Going by the stuff I saw last E3 in the Darkwatch Theater + the stuff they've sent the press so far, I don't know the MSRP of the game or it's release date, but I'm confident that unless it's been massively overhauled since the build I saw, this game will be <$20 90 days after release.

Any takers? :)
 
this game just screams "TRYING TOO HARD" to me when I first saw it. As in it's trying too hard to look cool or get that certain look going.

I'm taking a wait + see approach on this one.

I agree. I should've added that I often seek the opinion of denizens of multiple forums before making my decision on whether to buy or not to buy. I should also say that I'm inclined to buy it the game because it looks intriguing. However, I would hate to buy a total dud without exercising my consumer instincts first.

BTW, I don't think it will be a dud.

Thats a first for me.

I dont know what exactly you saw to make you think that...But the game is certainly different than many other FPS.

Yeah, I have done the same myself. I'd much rather make my descions based on users than the people who are getting paid to offer their sometimes biased opinions. I could name a few game sites that seem extremely biased towards a certain system.
