AP: NFL finds it probable that Patriots deliberately deflated balls

Tom Brady should be permanently banned from the NBA. This behavior is unbelievable.

Ban from the NBA? Was he trying too hard on defense?

On a side note: I want to give credit to a majority of the patriot fans. Nice to have a debate (this issue or just general team debates) without getting slammed with Haters gonna hate, you are just jealous.

I'd say the texts are worse. Not to mention the NFL proved those happen where with Brady they're going to be punishing a theory.

In the end I think they need to fine the team not any player.

The NFL proved Brady is guilty. The burden of proof for discipline in their policy is preponderance of the evidence or "more likely than not". This report says they met that burden

Bionic is fighting the good fight in here, so I'll just help with making gifs.

(Will update some more things into it...)

I expected a 4-game, which would then be appealed down to 2. I'll gladly take a 6-8 game that will obviously be appealed down to a 3-4 though.

6-8 games? That's it?? Those six to eight games are hopefully out of conference games.

Sean Payton sat out for an entire season so Belichek has to sit out as well.

8 games and revoke the rule that was passed in 2004 letting QBs mess with the footballs. League should provide footballs to both teams for all games. Second time the team has been caught breaking the rules.

Pats will still make the playoffs, though.

Knock out your wife. 2 games.

Maybe, possibly, but we don't know for sure violate a rule the NFL didn't care about until January. Half season.

The NFL ladies and gents.

Alright, to be fair for the report, the language of "more probable than not" is legal talk for guilty as hell.

Considering in the report the finding is basically "he's guilty" in legal speak, and the lack of cooperation between Brady and the team after the text messages came out, there is a good amount of cause for a suspension.

But I think 6-8 is way too much, 4 weeks suspension (3 game suspension). No Brady till after bye week.

Stop comparing this to personal issues like domestic violence. He's hurting the company he works for (the NFL) by bringing it's integrity into question. If I do something at my job that directly hurts the business but I was doing it cause it makes me and my immediate team look good, I'm getting fired.

It's not about don't do this cause it makes you look bad and then we look bad as a result. It's more of don't try to look good at the company's expense. The second should be more offensive to the company as it's the employee directly harming them.

The NFL ladies and gents.

The perception of someone being able to get away with cheating, during a season where their team won the Super Bowl is likely to affect the business of the NFL more than fomestic violence.

That's obviously just speculation, but I imagine it's true. And if you are running a business it's what counts in the end.

However down to the individuals here on the forum? I dunno... Feel like most people wished greater penalty to the domestic violence committers than Brady.

I personally feel like the NFL should completely drop off field behavior rules. I think it would HELP domestic violence sufferers more than it hurts them; the are often financially bound to the players and knowing there will be financial consequences to calling or speaking with the police isn't helping real justice happen IMO.

After the magical tapes came into existence and fucked the league on a PR stand point.

Same thing here. Evidence is out now for all. Guilty is the verdict.

Expect moderate to severe punishment (at least I am).

NFL took a killing going soft, so would anticipate the pendulum having swung back. Hardy got ten games and technically, wasn't even convicted.

Trump supporting Brady? Yup it's Jimmy G time.

This whole thing is a conspiracy by Bledsoe to get back at Brady.

To be fair threatening and beating a girl much smaller than you is nowhere near as bad as maybe letting some air out of balls.

Hopefully Tom gets 10 games and Hardy's suspension is reduced to 2 games.

Tom Brady will be the highest profile player ever suspended in the 96-year history of the NFL.

Roger Goodell's decision is expected to be announced next week and it is no longer a matter of if the NFL commissioner will suspend Brady, but for how long he will suspend him.
The feeling is the Wells Report supplied Goodell with enough ammunition to suspend Brady both for breaking the rules by ordering the deflation of footballs and by not cooperating with the investigation when he refused to turn over his cell phone to Wells’ investigators.
Estimates have been all over the map. My feeling is he will wind up with two games, whether that is the initial discipline handed out or whether he is hit with four and ends up with two after an appeal..

The Miami Herald reported Brady's suspension could be as much as the entire 2015 season. Sources insist that is way off and not going to happen. There were reports in Boston on Friday on CSNNE that the Patriots fear Goodell could hit Brady with a 6-to-8 game suspension. Others have estimated 2-to-4 games.

No, this is completely different.

The NFL tried to cover up Rice by saying "lol we didn't see the tape", they did zero investigating to try to keep some decent reputation for Rice and the league.

This investigation is the antithesis of the Rice investigation.
