Apparently, my man Musk is rocking a RTX 4060 for his gaming PC (in DOGE office)

A recent photo of Elon Musk’s DOGE gaming PC at the White House is raising eyebrows. Tech reporter Kate Conger of the New York Times (h/t Polygon) shared an image of what appears to be a rather unbalanced RGB-infused build installed in the Secretary of War Suite in the Eisenhower Building.

Pixel peeping suggests that the tower system features a compact MSI-branded GPU, likely to be an RTX 4060 or 4070 model. Yet this Wi-Fi-connected PC is hooked up to a 49-inch Samsung Odyssey G9 dual-QHD display. Some might say this is a bit like putting a lawn mower engine in a muscle car.

We don’t want to throw shade at the popular RTX 4060, or even 4070, though. Actually, these are looking like increasingly decent choices – at the right price – given the recent RTX 50 family reviews and the direction ‘Lackwell’ releases seem to be determined to follow. Rather, it is the incongruity of the richest man in the world’s gaming PC that tickles our PC DIY spider-senses. This machine has over 7.3 million pixels to push at native full-screen gaming (Samsung’s monitor packs in 5120 x 1440 pixels) and its duties as ‘the chainsaw for bureaucracy,’ so shouldn’t it be a bit beefier?

Of course, we don’t know how Musk uses this White House-situated PC to play games. He might play in windowed mode, with half of the screen dedicated to gaming, with the other featuring feeds relevant to DOGE operations – that would mean less strain on the GPU. Moreover, various reports suggest Musk favors a number of less hardware-intensive titles, like the titles he is known to play frequently, such as Diablo IV and Path of Exile 2. On the other hand, the special government employee is also known to have at least dabbled in Cyberpunk 2077, which can be very demanding at its highest quality settings.

Well considering he pays other people to play games for him so he can take credit and earn worthless "internet cred" he doesn't really need a powerful gfx card to power that monitor.

Looks like the setup for a 14 year old gaming in Resident Evil's Spencer mansion.

Probably lot of fire hazards in that house, with all the wall carpets etc, so maybe someone switched his high end GPU to be safe, while leveling up his PoE characters.

So… this musk be a fake photo.

Who, I am serious, WHO puts a desk in the center of the room only to run power across the floor, presumably, to one of the outer walls.

God…there is so much wrong with this.

The only thing I liked about that monitor was dual zone image/picture beside picture…this is just using a single display port cable…so he is running super ultra wide on a 4070 (at best looking at the size of the card) nah bru…NAH.
Yes...you can run this monitor with just one input but why...dear god why.

All of this is wrong. It’s wrong and it is awful.

Apparently if you zoom in on the screen it shows he was looking at all the projected death and disease he's directly causing just from the abrupt USAID cuts alone.

18 million projected additional cases of malaria. 200,000 child paralysis cases due to preventable polio. 1 million children untreated for malnutrition. 28,000 new cases of Ebola.

Pretty sick dude, literally. His damage per second numbers are even eclipsing is Diablo and Path of Exile builds but in reality. Some old person just died from having their access to oxygen cut off.
So… this musk be a fake photo
Cheap propaganda allowed in a gaming forum despite a politics ban? No way dude. What if its real and the richest person in the world really does actually own a PC? Imagine the implications.

Forget the card, what the fuck is going on with that sloppy-ass cable management. It's just fuckin' dangling from the back, anyone who sits on that other chair will be pushing the wires away every few seconds.
No problem there, I don't think Musk has the social skills for in-office meeting and I image he does everything online. The chair is there as decoration.

I would be more embarrassed than anything else. The whole desk setup, placement, rig itself (sorry 4070 bros...) and overall execution is...embarrassing.

Don't know why they think you need a monster GPU for that monitor. I have a similar monitor driven by a 6700xt and would work fine with a far weaker gpu. I expect he uses it mostly for work with maybe some gaming on the side. You don't need to use the whole monitor to game on if the gfx card can't handle the resolution.

Talk about manufacturing a story out of nothing...

Are you shitposting or are you for real
They got a list of employees last night to be let go between now and the end of the month at damn near midnight. Permeant, term and probationary employees. They just rolled the fucking dice on who to terminate and when: some people got called last night so they weren't blindsided when they walked in and couldn't access their computers. My manager was literally crying all morning over how they did this because she feels like she failed us even though it's not her fault.

It’s really f-d up and they are going to severely damage our government, infrastructure, intelligence gathering and more.

Whole bunch of analysts just got fired from CIA as an example. Shit is downright depressing. It’s destruction for sake of destruction by people who don’t understand what the f they are doing.
