They literally only did this because people are buying old ipods instead of watches. It's obvious.
This is baseless speculation, but if thats what you need to believe, so be it.

Of course people aren't going to buy old hardware. The nano needed an update, not a discontinuation. They literally only did this because people are buying old ipods instead of watches. It's obvious.
iPod is more of a household name than Apple Watch. They fucked up by not calling the Apple Watch an iPod.
Really stupid. There's still a market for MP3 players. They must be desperate for Apple Watch sales.
Still use my Nano 6th gen when I go to the gym. I love it.

But also, I still occasionally they're just kind of neat. I kind of miss the era of ultraportable miniature electronics. The GB Micro, the PSP Go, tiny phones, tiny media players. I get why screens are getting bigger and bigger, but I still miss tiny gadgets like the iPod Nano.
If only. lolOk with this behind us can we now have iTunes killed pls
Apple watch + Bluetooth headphones = best workout music experienceProbably need to pick up a shuffle while I can then. I can't run with anything else - and a music player for when I'm doing cardio outside on the trail is like the ONLY reason I need a music player that's not my phone.

Delusional are the people in this thread that keep suggesting people wanting the $50-$60 Shuffle should be buying Apple Watches instead.
No apps, no streaming, no other functionality. The amount of people buying these is small and mostly old as well.
I still use my Nano almost everyday. It's the best mp3 player I've ever used.
I got a new nano last year after my old one went on the fritz after about 7 years. It is great as a podcast listening device.

i'm not convinced half the people in this thread even know what an apple watch is or does

You are completely clueless. Nobody is buying an Apple Watch to primarily listen to music. It doesn't remotely compete with the iPod line.
I see people mentioning the apple watch, but I don't see it as a similar product at all. The apple watch doesn't have a headphone jack, and I don't ever plan on buying non-wired headphones. That and I hate wearing watches, so I'd want to just take the band off and put it in my pocket.
plus isn't the battery life really bad on them?

Compared to other smart watches it's on the low end for battery life. Music players outlast the watches by several days.Is two days really bad?
