apple.com said:sensors that allow you to manipulate what appears on your screen merely by moving your finger

Hitokage said:The way the OS is set up, the right mouse button really isn't that necessary... but a scrollwheel of some sort is.
DMczaf said:$50 for a corded mouse?! :lol Apple, you crazy bunch!
Seems to work just fine for my iPod's scroll wheel. Heck, the geek in me is already wondering if you can hack/customize the sounds coming out of the mouse.Hitokage said:...speaker generated clicking though, that's terrible until proven otherwise.

Haha, ok.shantyman said:I don't like to wait.![]()

Teknopathetic said:5 button mice at the least. I use the side buttons in games and to browse back/forward in web browsers. It's pretty much my way of life now. At least they're showing hope.
Hitokage said:By "until proven otherwise" I kinda meant until I get to test one in a store. It's just something I can't see working well, although that doesn't mean it won't.
Haha, ok.

dem said:Um.. lack of tactile feedback? If this is what i think it is... it may be the worst mouse ever.
Why can't apple ever just use what works? Why do they have to reinvent everything?
Mudwhistle said:It still has tactile feedback, it just has sensors underneath the plastic that know where you fingers are positioned when you click. Someone over on another forum already picked one up ... here's his impressions:
--
1) It 'feels' just like a regular Apple mouse; the whole top end of the mouse (by the cable) dips down as the old single button mouse did/does. What's different is that under the hard plastic top, it can tell which side your hand is pressing on before it clicks; so it behaves as if there were a second button there, though there isn't one you can see.

You can click the top end of the mouse just like a regular one.Phoenix said:I'll wait before picking one up. I never found the feel of the regular Apple "press down to click" mouse to be very natural.

Howso? You don't HAVE to press the body of the mouse. Just use the exact same clicking motion as you would with a buttoned mouse.Phoenix said:I know, it just doesn't feel right compared to years of having to press the mouse button. Its a different finger motion.

FYI: I'm buying one the second I can.
Phoenix said:I'm a function over form person myself, so unless it feels better than the mouse I already own - it will stay at the store. I've never liked the feel for any mouse that Apple has produced yet. They all seem to be made for children with small hands![]()

Burger said:I hate mice that 'fill' my hand. The apple mouse is more like a puck that you grip only with the tips of your fingers. I use a Razer Diamondback at home, and an apple mouse at work. Both are great.

It feels different. I don't like the titter tatter feel of Apple's mouse. I dont' like how the whole thing shifts in my hand when I click the 'button'.Hitokage said:Howso? You don't HAVE to press the body of the mouse. Just use the exact same clicking motion as you would with a buttoned mouse.
