WHAAAAAT. COME ON iPad .. MOVE!! Lol.

What kind of vacation does this thing it's getting?
It's a weekend.

Either that or the Fedex employee's are having too much fun with it.

I FINALLY found one! It's a 32GB black ATT one, and even though I just wanted a base 16GB model, I bought it. I found it at Best Buy of all places.

I know nothing about the 3g models. All I heard was that they are pay-as-you-go. I don't even know the price per month or how to activate.

It's pay as you go. You can pay $15 dollar for an emergency 150megs or $25 for 2 gigs. Just don't stream video/audio and you'll be fine with the 2 gig price. You can also turn the 3G off so it doesn't go on my mistake. The iPad will switch to wifi whenever it's available.

And I noticed it's activated directly on the Pad. Thanks.

Hello Apple people!

I am seriously considering an Ipad but I cannot decide if I want a 16gig Ipad for $399 or an Ipad 2 for $499

$100 dollars = a lot of apps

I just cant decide!

ipad 2 all the way bro. serious, it's a bigger improvement than some make it out to be.

Is there a list somewhere? That would be a possible viable solution.

The developer is usually responsive to requests for adding unsupported browsers.

As usual, if you have more questions then ask those in the jailbreak thread.

iPad 2 will have far greater resale value a year or so from now than iPad 1 will. Unless you plan to keep it for years saving $100 on iPad 1 now is a false economy.

Why hasn't Google put Chrome on iOS, legal reasons?

What's the point? Either your app uses the built in Webkit framework (uiwebview) or it doesn't support any javascript (no private API's).

So either:

-It works pretty much the same as Mobile Safari
-It works pretty much like Opera, which sucks.

So I ordered a second iPad for my buddy when I ordered mine and Best Buy just called to tell me it was there waiting for me (both our numbers were on the forms). So it looks like putting the $100 dollars down at Best Buy is the way to go. We both got ours in less than a week.

I don't have Honeycomb, and who knows how long it'll be before Virgin allows it on my phone. I want Chrome now. At least its icon would look better than Dolphin's. As would its interface.

I don't believe so. I'm sure it shares some stuff with Chrome but it's simply Android's "browser".

The Chrome brand is aimed at x86 machines as a browser but focused to evolve its recognition as its own platform/OS, that's why they don't want to put it on other classes of devices yet, especially because on the cellphone/tablet market they have another OS.

If it works for me, I'll use that as my main web browser and then let everyone else who plays with my iPad to use Safari since the security on Safari is piss poor right now.
If Safari's security is piss poor then Terra's is too, unless you're just talking about private browsing and passcode locks.

It's the code interpreter with arbitrary code rule, not the private API one.

And even if it got on there...Chrome is also WebKit, albeit with a different JS engine and process model, but Nitro and eventually WebKit2 (hopefully by iOS 5) take care of lagging in those areas.

Anyone in NJ know which stores might carry the iPad 2 at this point? Looking at my Apple.com order, I'm honestly not willing to wait until the end of April for it to ship.

Can someone enlighten me as to what exactly the point of the smart cover is? For me, the only thing that every gets fucked up on my Apple products is the back, the aluminum or whatever they cover the back of their products with always gets scratched to hell. I've never had issues with the screen getting messed up. Is there some kind of cover that will protect the back of the Ipad instead?

Security as in letting someone else use my iPad without them having an entire history of every site I've ever browsed. This has been standard on web browsers for how long now?

I wish I could lock the email as well.

While I would want something to cover the front and back of my ipad, the smart cover is cool because of the auto on/off features of it, and the stand aspect.

Soon there will be many third party cases with the magnetic smart style covers, all while covering the back.

For some reason, safari only displays a page when is completely loaded, is there a way to make it display a page as it loads like firefox? Some image heavy threads on gaf are really slow to open...

Major upgrades to CPU, GPU, and memory mean ipad2 will be useful longer than the original. It's the different between an iphone 3g and 3gs.

If anyone in California lives close to Visalia, CA the Target there has 4 white 16gb wifi iPad 2s. They told me an hour ago that they got 5 of them in the morning and I was the only one to show interest in one.

Ameri-Friends! Help us Canadians out with some advice based on your experience!

For our launch this Friday, can you give us some line-up tips?

If iPads are being sold @ 5 PM, what time do you suggest should we show up in order to secure an iPad?

If they are selling them right when the store opens (say 8 AM), what time should we be there?

Feel free to provide some feedback on how long you waited and your city/town! Thx!

Some tips based on surviving i4/ipad lineups last year in Vancouver:

1. That Apple has said nothing about the launch lately is bad. I fully expect a delay at this point. (No partner talk, no stories of people lining up crazy early, no changes to the website...I mean, it's heartening to see the date still there but it's still suspiciously quiet.)

2. Haven't heard any "5 PM" confirmation for us either. Assuming they sell when the store opens instead, I'd say 3-4 hours early. Probably 4. A big store like Pac Centre gets people earlier but also has a lot more product to go around. I think the i4 lineup was probably pointless unless you got to the line 2-3 hours before opening.

3. A great workaround last year was because BB/FS got stock day one. Nobody bothered lining up there so despite really limited inventory it took a few hours for stock to deplete.

4. That being said the big reason why iPad lines weren't as bad as i4 lines was because you could preorder for delivery. I got mine via UPS within an hour of the Apple Stores opening because I preordered the week before. If they don't bother this time, expect 4+ hours.

As per point #1, it looks like the internation launch is a go: http://www.macrumors.com/2011/03/21/uk-ipad-2-launch-still-on-schedule-for-friday/

Have to remember that last year, Apple never specified an exact release date, only a time period, and then delayed it. With a date set in stone, I don't think they want to upset thier customers with another empty promise.

Running theory right now is the reason why it is so hard to get an iPad 2 right now in the states is that Apple has been holding stock for the international delay.

If they are selling them @ 5, I plan to be in line @ 9 AM or something. I plan on taking the day off.

Quick noob question: Are there any best practices for battery performance, i.e. fully charge before first use, drain fully before each charge, etc?

No. It's not 2001 anymore.

The only advantage to fully discharging is so the software battery meter is more accurate. The battery itself doesn't lose life based on user behavior.

You can always get one of the free alternative browsers and hide it in a folder somewhere lol. You could also do the same with email

No one knows. Not even employees. You just have to call everyday. I think Menlo Park Mall in Edison might be your best bet. They are one of (if not THE) best selling store in the state.

Think of it as primarily a stand that happens to be a cover for portability/convenience. For the back I'm sure someone will make a shell, or you could get one of god knows how many skin things.

Mine is in the exact same holding pattern that yours is. Originally it was supposed to be delivered by Wednesday but once it actually shipped FedEx's page said Thursday. :(

Help!

Splashtop, Jump Desktop, or Wyse? Or is there a better option outside of these?
wsyse pocketcloud is pretty awesome. You dont have to install anything on your pc, unlike splashtop, and they give you a nice option for a mouse with options around it if you want.

random app question. does the comcast/xfinity app on ipad let you watch live tv channels(obviously off your wifi network) or is it strictly a guide/dvr/ondemand app?
