It all depends on your style and what kind of protection you're looking for. You have folio type cases for a professional look, cases that make the iPad look like a book, skins for the back and/or front, shells for the back, etc. So...what kind of case do you need? We might be able to help you more with this info.
I'm not 100% sure yet. But I would like something thin that offers pretty decent protection since I will be throwing it in a briefcase for business travel. Probably needs to protect the screen since it will be jostled about in my bag.

I'm thinking folio? If I go that route, I'd like one that is easy to fold the back cover back like a book cover, so I can hold the iPad easily with one hand.

Also, another question. I browse forums on the iPad a ton, and on forums like xbox.com and the homefront boards I can't get the iPad to pop up the keyboard when trying to make a new post, any way around this?

Also does anyone knows how I can disable the pull page down to reload in iCab ? It is so annoying.

The option is available in settings, along with a whole lot of others. It is the actual setting tab, then find iCab in the list (not the in-app setting page)

Great, now offer apps for Showtime and Cinemax, because I don't watch anything on HBO. All the good shows are on Showtime.

what could possibly be on showtime that's better than the wire, bored to death, carnivale, etc. weeds? californication??

I have an issue with iPad (1). When I choose to download something, a pop up appears requiring me to enter payment data. This wasn't an issue before. I have an account without any payment info.

I finally got my new iPad 2 (White, 32GB, WiFi) today at the Apple Store. My reserve iPad that I was waiting on to replace my defective iPad never came at Best Buy, so I cancelled it and went around to two different Apple Stores (the first one only had 16B Wifi and 32GB Black 3G models. They claimed they had a rush at open). So glad to finally have an iPad again. It's weird to go without it once you get use to having it around. Since I still had some gift cards to Best Buy (where I won't shop at again), I got a Apple Wireless Keyboard, iPad Dock, another iTunes giftcard and the Tron Legacy remix album :D

Now I'm waiting on my Portenzo case, which I might cancel if they don't send a shipping notice next week, and looking into more productivity apps for my iPad.

i finally got my portenzo case. the customer service blew but now that i have it i love it. feels very nice in my hands, extremely well built and damn good looking.

I got an iTunes gift card from my sister as a birthday present and now I'm sitting here not knowing what to download. I'm thinking of GarageBand, wasn't there a great app for note taking with a stylus?

I would recommended using it bit by bit during sales. No need for a big splash just cause you have it.

As for notes, ThinkBook is now out (on sale for the first few days too). It is from the ComicZeal guys, and it is good for making To Do lists. It is a bit hard to get used to, but nice one you figure out the layout. No stylus option though.

Hmm, I'm looking for the one app, where you can draw circles and triangles and then it transforms it, and you can write notes and draw a circle Around the text and move it around.

I'm not gonna splash it my card, as it'll have to last me for the rest of the year, as I don't spend money on apps. =) thanks for your recommendation as well, I have added ComicZeal to the list of those I will think about.

I think that one is Notes Plus. Great App, but I never got used to it for taking quick notes.

got one! 32g in white, sexy, but it has a dead pixel which is really irritating me :( will they swap it out without a huge hassle or should i just learn to love it

So I've got the iPad 2 and I love it but there's an issue with the screen. I've got yellow blotches around the perimeter of the screen. What's my best course of action? Sould I just get a replacement when stock is more plentiful?

Apple Store should swap it out without a problem.

Usually that's caused by glue for the screen not being completely dry. Should go away in a couple of days. If it doesn't, then you should definitely get it swapped out.

I'm still anxious about them hurrying up and sending it. I understand that they are a small operation but they really need to find a more productive way of doing a good job faster. Hearing that people who finally got their cases and actually love them makes me want to stick it out. Portenzo and Dodocases are the only cases I actually like.

holy crap, TSN released their ipad app

what an incredible sports app. wowzer. works for US too (TSN is canadian) but you won't be able to see video i think.

i didn't think i would be so impressed with an app, yikes.

Got mine today and I'm completely in love with it. I have a smart cover but I'd like a slip case or something like that for when I keep it in my messenger bag. Just doing a quick search on Amazon, I'm not seeing much that catches my eye. Anyway, the iPad2 rules. I must resist the urge to buy 20 apps at a time.

Any back cases that play nice with the Ghostarmor screen protector? The tpu case I bought from ebay is starting to cause the ghostarmor to peel from the sides.

I got a smart cover for the front.

Fuck me...

Is streamtome better than airvideo?

I bought airvideo a week ago and wish it did music and pics...now I find this... :(

Splash looks neat, and honestly, can do everything and more if it works right.
I prefer it, they both have their pluses and minuses...but yeah if you want pics and video StreamToMe wins just cause it has them vs nothing at all. One caveat is that if you actually need to download pics, it doesn't do that, it only displays them.

Yeah that's most likely Notes Plus, but another one is Beleshka, or something similarly spelled/sounding. And if you want comics, there's a few free alternatives like Comic Flow and Bookman.

The new icab update is awesome. Switching between tabs just by swiping is a great feature.
I came to post about the update too. Looks like you can rearrange all the buttons finally, and has a scrollbar for quicker scrolling through a page.

I know there was a discussion of notes app just above, but is there a good notes app that allows drawing and typing in a uniform fashion?

It seems like Notes Plus only allows you to put text boxes in random areas (Not left justified) and is more for drawing. I basically am looking for "Pages" with drawing capabilities.

Edit: Man iCab update sounds great about to try that out.

Moleskine, maybe?

I think you'd have to draw in another app - Adode Ideas might be a good option - then import the image in. The image has to be a square though, like you see in the above image, although it can be of any size. You can draw in the app, but the text will not auto format around it.

Maybe try Notability too. I saw it recommended on the latest iPad Today

Coolest app i've seen yet is the Al Gore Earth app (it's in the top ten, forgot the name). All mag apps need to be like this going forward. It's really impressive.

Just bought an Apple TV thinking I could run apps like Air Video or Plex and use air play on my ipad to show it on my tv... seems like I only get audio! :(

Did I just get an apple tv for no use?

Just was coming here to post the same thing. I've had an AppleTV for a while but never really had a reason to use AirPlay until the HBOGO app came out. Tried to get it on my TV but I only got audio and the video was still only playing on my iPad. I thought this was just a problem with this app since it just came out but I guess you're saying it happens with others too. Is there some setting I'm missing? If not, pretty lame. :/

Have you updated both the app and the Server software on your computer?

Edit: You need the latest Air Video Server beta version to use Airplay.

I don't think HBO Go is supported yet. Neither is Hulu Plus I don't think.

You need 4.3 on the iPad and the latest software update on the Apple TV.

Really?? So if update both my iPad and Apple TV to latest firmware I will be able to stream .avi files through air play?

Was just about to try and jailbreak my apple tv but I rather not! :)

And get the latest Air Video Server beta.

Not a lot of apps are supported, but Air Video is.

Just checked and my apple tv is on firmware 4.2.1 and I cant upgrade it further. The iPad 2 is on firmware 4.3.

Suppose I will try and update the iPad and see what happens. Been reluctant to update because I have been thinking about jailbreaking it.

I think some apps still won't stream video to the TV, though I'm not sure if HBOGO is supposed to. Why those apps even have the little airplay icon if you can't take full advantage is beyond me.

Just another reason I need to buy an apple tv.

I don't love the AppleTV. We have had some fairly annoying issues with it, particularly having to do with the Netflix app. It is not a very polished experience overall.

In Netflix, there is an annoying habit right now where the video skips ahead and the audio doesn't, so they become out of sync. This doesn't happen on any other Netflix devices in the house. It used to be that the sound just cut out completely, but that was fixed.

Also, sometimes for seemingly no reason, the AppleTV will lose its connection with my Itunes. This could be a router problem and not an AppleTV problem (not sure) but it is still annoying.

Yeah, as streaming boxes go, Roku has got AppleTV beat. Much better straightforward UI and channel options.

It does them via a usb connection, but in general that's not what it excels at. It is probably the best internet video streaming box though.

Just tested Air Video via AirPlay and it definitely works, using the latest beta.

Finally managed to get Air Video to work. I had the Plex app running in the backround and for some reason Air Video didn't work at all untill I had Plex terminated.

Plex still don't work for me though. Only get audio, and no video, when in I press the air play button. It seems to buffer way longer than Air Video aswell.

Just wish I could get an app that is as sexy as Plex and work as well as Air Video. :|

The AirPlay icon is there because audio streaming is available. It's the same icon for audio and video.

As for which apps, as of 4.3 it's 100% up to the developer to decide whether they want their app to stream video. If the app doesn't stream video, they either don't want you to stream over AirPlay, or haven't updated yet to support it.

I just bought Numbers for my iPad and started using a "Personal Savings" scheme but is the currency only in Us Dollars? I can't do it with other currencies like the Danish Crowns?
