And here we go ...

Talk battery life first Apple, that is THE selling point for every Pebble fan like myself out there.

Show me YOU deserve my money more than Pebble.

I want to see that retina macbook air at this thing. if that single port design is correct. oh man - that'll be interesting

and pricing for the apple watch. let's see if the steel version launches under 600 or not...

fun times.

also, Monday. that's new..

You raise a good issue. I wonder if they (Apple) consider themselves in competition with Pebble. Meaning, do they care of they are able to pull people away from Pebble? This event will answer a lot of questions hopefully.

You're in for disappointment if you expect battery life anything like the Pebble.

If that's your only selling point, the Pebble is for you. The Apple Watch will win functionality wise (especially since the Pebble experience on iPhone is lacking compared to Android), but it should be no contest w/r to battery.

Umm... Have you read dev guidelines? As far as gen 1 Apple watch, that is a BIG no.

And I don't need 7 days; 30 hours minimum is what I am asking for something like this.

Apple concentrates on themselves, not the competition, but I wish they took Pebble seriously; it is the best smart watch on the planet, and it has the battery too.

Yeah, hoping for some Mac news here in addition to Apple Watch stuff. Retina MacBook Air, but also maybe they can finally kill the non-Retina MBP and reshuffle some price points.

Really doubt there'll be anything in the way of iOS device announcements.

Apple Watch still needs all of the pricing details out there (as well as news on how upgrades will work).

How many products that Apple sells, that come in different sizes, are priced the same?

True, but remember these watches are essentially different sizes because men and women tend to have different sized wrists. They're just simply not gonna discriminate like that.

Ditched my iPhone back in October but I'm still interested in the stuff Apple do. Looking forward to seeing what the watch can offer.
I hope the battery life is better than reported.

Probably on apple.com like they usually are now

Only available by using Safari. Right?

Not like I can afford one, but I am looking forward to the new watch info.

Would also like to see the next line of MBAs. Absolutely love my mid-2011 11" model. Would definitely buy a 12" Retina somewhere down the line.

I have read them actually. And I stand by my point that the Apple watch has more functionality when paired with an iPhone, and will evolve to have even more as the software evolves.

As for battery life, then yes if you want 30 hours standby that might happen. I don't think it will even reach 20 though, seeing as they continue saying they charge it every night :/

What do we all think the mid-range Apple Watch will be priced at? Nobody seems to be speculating on that.

Ha — great headline and the perfect date to give more info about a watch.
I doubt I'll be getting one, I just can't see myself wearing something around my wrist.

$450-500, maybe? How much do other smart watches go for?

Well the Moto 360 (popular Android Wear device) is $249.

I own one, it's very nice. I really like it, I wrote a little review over in the Android OT because once, I was a sceptic about the whole smart watch concept.
I am not a believer, this thing can do some really cool stuff and genuinely makes my life a little easier when on the move and on the go.

That's why I'm excited to see what Apple can do with theirs, because usually, others will follow :lol

This is my current position. Not too sure about it all, but really interested.
