It needs Porn, Games & eventually a better Price. Then it'll sell like hotcakes.

Yes.So basically it needs to be the Quest?
Yes.
What a life.We had some wine with friends last night and my wife asked them to talk me out of buying a Vision Pro.
Half an hour later they had convinced me that for a tech investor 3.5keur is actually a small investment for having a first hand understanding of the future, or the understandng that this is not the future
In the end they were saying we need to get three. One for me, one for my wife and one to keep sealed for 20 years
You don’t know what you are talking about. It’s the best looking VR headset out there with the best tech.
He even posted pictures of himself before his friends came over. What a life.
wait for the 2nd gen one. You know damn well this was the trial run to pay for rnd and to prove there is a market. They love to beta test their first products and expand from there.I keep almost buying one, but after tax and apple care is about $5000…
maybe I should just get a giant oled tv….

Vision Pro seems to be tanking hard. Not just because there has been zero posts since Monday in the OT.
I plan to book a demo for my LA layover in March. I figured I would check how long the wait is to get one, should I enjoy it a lot. Turns out the shipping is unchanged from launch, 2-3 weeks. But more damningly, the product is available for immediate pickup from all the LA stores I checked.
Weird acronymSo they predict AVP2 in 2026 and probably AVP3 in 2029 or 2030 then. Not too long a wait.
I think if they get it right at some point, we'll see an order of magnitude for growth, like 18 billion to 200 billion or something.
Weird acronym
It's nice for improving picture quality and probably save the battery life, especially for high resolutions.
Interesting
He confirms next Quest will have eye tracking at least.
AVP is already taken in the gaming ‘space’. It’s like when people refer to Game Pass Ultimate as GPU.It's pretty commonly referred to as AVP, I believe.
The passtrough on Quest 3 is horrible when you look it trough the quest itself. Videos of it dont show what its actually like. Biggest letdown for me has been the lack of games. Theres like two or three worth of playing. Considering how that is for Quest 3 it must be exponentially worse for Apple Vision.
Pass through isnt that bad. Definitely useable. The passtrough on Quest 3 is horrible when you look it trough the quest itself. Videos of it dont show what its actually like. After seeing this I can't wait to see what Valves next VR headset is gonna be like in terms of the tech it's packing.
I was very harsh about AVP at first, mostly because gimmickey, creepy front display. Avatars were also bad. But I really enjoy how apple do it's OS stuff. Environments are also crazy beautiful.I’m glad that Quest3 and AVP are both here. Anything to move VR forwards.
Going by price, a headset in the $1000 range should not be comparable to this by any means, but I expect it to between the Quest 3 and this, somewhere in the middle.
please post feedback if you get the opportunity

That seemed like a pretty spot on review against his own companies 7x cheaper unitPretty effective (and unique) approach.
