Do companies do these masturbatory recaps so that news outlets can get juicy quotes? "200 MILLION iOS DEVICES ON iO^ SAYS APPLE CEO TIM COOK!"

The way he talks reminds me of this

These conferences get filled with more and more fluff every time. Why does anyone care that 28,000 messages are being sent on iMessage or that there are 125m documents on iCloud?

All companies do it, but it's only relevant when Apple does it. I'm not even sarcastic. Apple headlines bring the most clicks. There was a great Onion article about it.

Yes. It's a spoken press release.

Also, the reason they're streaming this probably isn't so much for us regular folks. It's so the media who can't be there (particularly non-tech/non-Apple media) can watch live and get the news out this afternoon and evening.

Niiiice. Love it when they update iBooks.

They said on Twit they couldn't do a direct mirror of the stream and had to cut it in and out. That's why they interrupt him on Cnet.

The only thing that could get me to buy an iPad mini without Retina is if it had a cheap $300 at most price and 16GB at lowest. 8GB and there's no deal. At that point I'll just wait for iPad 4 and "suffer" with a 10" screen for another couple years.
