Oh shit. Just when you think it's over a wild Moose appears and we have the winner of the scramble vs Moose for both the PWrevolver and WrestleCircus Sideshow titles. This card was amazingly fun. I want this to be a yearly thing.

I just wish Taker got a proper emotional match as a send off. Michaels vs Flair is an iconic retirement match. Takers career wnding with that is super depressing.

Taker was physically more downhill than Flair was at his retirement match.

I still think my dream scenario would have been for AJ and Roman should have switched matches: Shane wanting revenge for Roman almost killing him at Survivor Series. AJ could have made Taker look great.

Oh good lord lol the Reigns/Taker match was 23 minutes

Why the fuck on a show already run long and Taker being a literal corpse did they go 23 minutes?

Good point. Let's look at the winners.

- Neville (makes sense, best Cruiserweight right now)
- Mojo Rawley (ok, this makes no sense at all, woulda gave it to Braun or Zayn but I do see they at least prepped up on him potentially winning over the past few weeks)
- Ambrose (shit match with Lesnar last year, worked most dates, I can see them giving him a win due to last year)
- Styles (should have won the Jericho match last year, amazing wrestler, I can see them giving him the win)
- Owens (Jericho's taking off for Fozzy, Owens hasn't won at a WM yet, ok)
- Bayley (she's the new champion and she won without anyone's help unlike the previous times, popular, I see it)
- Hardyz (most popular and experienced and no one wants an Enzo/Cass reign right now, heavily approve)
- Cena/Nikki (proposal, ok)
- Rollins (missed WM last year and this is the ending of this long Authority feud, ok)
- Orton (makes sense from a storyline perspective...just not a booking perspective since Wyatt hasn't won a WM yet and he needed this bad)
- Lesnar (Goldberg's contract is over and they're leading to the next Reigns match, ok)
- Naomi (she wasn't going to lose the title but she had to due to her injury, Orlando, ok)
- Reigns ("if you leave the territory, put the other star over")

I don't mind Mojo winning (they at least hyped up the possibility) if they actually do something with it. The past battle royal winners didn't seem to benefit at all. It's mentioned for like a week and then never again. Corbin was last year's winner, and while he received a lot more attention, it wasn't because he was the winner.

I do wish Miz would've won, since you can do the proposal no matter what and it would've been a major momentum swing in his favor for the upcoming year, but I know faces are supposed to win the big blow off match, especially at WM. Is Cena sticking around for a long time? I still like my idea of Miz winning today, winning the title, and then Cena vs. Miz for the title at Summerslam with Cena trying to break Flair's record.

I know. Im not really trying to shit on either guy. Its just really disappointing.

AJ would've had a great match with Taker. Cena could've had a good match with him.

Cesaro could've lifted Taker too.

Thankfully Hardy's saved the day. AJ is god-mode. Shane got boo'd for his stupid jabs. Crowd boo'd Cena. Crowd boo'd the hell out of reigns then kinda just went silent for disgust. Charlotte's corkscrew was wild. Lot's of screw ups though. Thought there would be some better entrances though.

That Hardy's POP was great. Love that music.

Here's to Shinsuke hopefully in the next two days, well, tuesday to face AJ.

Meh idk, how would the crowd feel after AJ becomes the guy to retire the Undertaker? I'd rather keep him away from that tbh.

No one was going to have a great match with this Taker sorry , don't buy it. Might have been slightly better but you know there's no way the'd have put AJ over Taker right?

The reality is the match should have been about 10 minutes with Reigns just kicking the crap out of him.

How was Mania lads?

A literal tale of Two WrestleManias.

One Half WrestleMania 19, One Half umm WrestleMania 18 or uh 25 (the half without Rock/Hogan or HBK/Taker)

Overall a 7

First Half gets a 10 the second half a 4, with basically all of the 4 being because of Goldberg/Lesnar, otherwise the second half would be a 0 or a 1

If it wasn't for the fact that Wyatt needs it to be dark for his entrance, that match should have switched places with Shane/AJ or Jericho/Owens

Fair enough. Might try catch the front half then. Still got all the weekend stuff to catch, so it's back if the line

Watch the whole thing in parts, if only to see what it might look like for a guy to wrestle a literal deadman.

And Wyatt/Orton is the carniest world title match ever, just that it also sucked.

He's been playing a heel for months without any real heat. He would've cut promos in the weeks leading to Mania about how he was looking forward to retiring Taker and would've gloated on the ramp after taking the win. He also would've made it a good match.

Can we all just appreciate the fact that Matt Hardy started a storyline on the internet, moved it into his TNA work, took it to Ring of Honor, and is now continuing it with WWE?

Undertaker vs Reigns wasn't a good match, but it had a decent storyline element to it-Time comes for us all, glory is fleeting and fades, and nothing good lasts forever.

That was heart-breaking seeing him hanging it up.

The Undertaker is the GOAT of the WWF/WWE. When just about everyone else jumped ship to WCW or elsewhere, he stayed, he was the foundation, both on screen and in the locker room.

Thank you Taker.

If he would have started it on the internet while in WWE, he would have been punished for it...

Cena's taking more time off now to film another movie and Nikki said the other day she's taking time off so basically the faces won and now they're taking off. What they need to do is have Miz come out and say he was right even though he lost and they use this to propel Miz. Say "see, I told the truth and this is how I'm treated?" and see what happens.

Actually, if Nakamura's coming to SD put his first feud against Miz. If not then please trade someone over to SD (Rollins for example) and put them against Miz. He's got nothing.

The rumored trades coming down the pipe have Roman coming to Smackdown. I'd love to see that just so Miz can cut his promos on him.

If Roman goes to Smackdown it'll be another use of that Simpsons cone of ignorance pick. He'll bring it down to his level.

It's a noble idea to try and get everyone on the show, but it's got to stop. The length of that show was absolutely ridiculous

Just sooooo much crap shovelled in there. At least 40% of the running time was either people walking down the stupidly sized runway, or repeated promo video packages.

Once Cena proposed the life was sucked out of the arena. And I still don't know why they put so much behind Reigns, especially after last night. "How do I keep Taker down? Maybe I should up the ante and pull out something new? Nah fuck it, another superman punch and spear should do it".

Balor and Joe didn't get a pay day, but fucking James Ellsworth did?

I think it's pretty evident after that match that Reigns has nothing new and brings nothing new to the table in his matches.

I'm not even saying he sucks in the ring. He just mildly does more than Lesnar.

It's uncanny mow frequently my opinions on things echoes John and Wai's. Check out their review it's pretty good.

They were much harsher on Miz/Maryse vs Cena/Nikki but a bit more positive on Reigns/Taker than I was but other than that those guys are always so good at what they do.

Meltzer and Alvarez said the mixed tag match was like a second match on the card of a house show.

I mean it was a means to an end... but the fan reaction Miz got and him getting to beat up John Cena for most of that match was my moment of the match...

Like the legit Yes chant he got doing Daniel Bryan's kicks spot was great and it was hilarious... Miz was just a treat to watch in that and I hope he beats Orton soon because whatever Bray's done.

As much as I'm bored of the current version of Lesnar, we've seen him put on amazing performances in the past. Roman has always been a two move guy. Once the spear and punch have been hit, there's nowhere to go so he just spams them further. He's never pushed the boat out, and you would think retiring the Taker would have been the perfect opportunity to bust out something different. But nope.

All in all though this was easily the best Mania since at least 30 (I'd put it on overall match quality alone above 30 but I'm willing to argue that Bryan's story on 30 + Taker losing for the first time bad match or not makes that one a better show). I'd put it in my top 5-10 (higher right now.. could drop to top 15 if I rewatch enough Manias). It was at times as good as 19 , which is one of my fav manias of all time, and sometimes better. Their low points are comparable: HHH/Booker = Orton/Wyatt basically in terms of real low point title matches, but 19's Main Event was actually good, and as good as a lot of the things on this card were none of them touch the quality of Angle/Lesnar (botch finish or not) let alone Jericho/HBK.

Overall though between all the FloSlam stuff, TakeOver and Mania it was an amazing extended weekend of wrestling and I'm looking forward now to Sakura Genesis

Best part of the Lesnar/Goldberg match.

Goldberg is an underrated seller, look how much he fucking dies as soon as he hits the ring post, he just goes limp. Great shit. Wish they had closed the show with that. That should have been the main event.

Nakamura, Dillinger, and Almas
are supposed to debut this week...

Almas?! No he's just finding his character, the main roster will kill him, unless he goes to 205 Live... which might still kill him

Btw doing a quick bit of research but I think Lesnar beating Goldberg was actually the first time literally in Goldberg's TV career that he lost clean in a one on one match...

First time in 20 years!

The Dead or Alive cage match rules have been announced, sounds suitably crazy - basically, there will be 4 flags on top of the cage as per usual, but also the Dream Gate belt. The four competitors (Doi, Shingo, Cyber & Hulk) will have to obtain a flag to gain challenger status, meanwhile the champion YAMATO can't be eliminated and has to try and eliminate his competitors either via pinfall or submission until only one remains. At that point, YAMATO and the sole survivor can try to retrieve the Dream Gate belt to win, while whoever's left in the cage will have to forfeit their hair or their mask.
