I just don't even know how to explain why having Brock lose is a terrible idea. It's just Booking 101 and something that is so obvious that I'm actually surprised people genuinely think Brock wasn't hurt by this outcome.

leaving the ppv now, overall it was a good show, crowd was fantastic as usual.

sheam vs d brine was fantastic as was punk vs jericho. just solid wrestling matches from start to finish.

lesnar vs cena was entertaining too, but the finish was stupid and boring.

cena's speech was odd.

It really does make Brock look really bad. He dished out one of the most brutal looking beatdowns you're ever going to see in a WWE ring and then lost to TWO OFFENSIVE MOVES.

TWO.

It just makes Brock look like a paper tiger, which, by the way, is exactly what UFC fans already thought about him!

If the intention was for Brock to bring in a new audience, they already completely blew it. If that wasn't the intention...then I have no idea why you spend $5 million on him.

So nobody's gonna talk about the real disappointment of the night? That we didn't get Kharma?

Nope. I like Kharma and am anticipating her destroying everyone, but I do like Layla too, and it was nice to see her come back in a good match, that told a good story.

Kharma will come. She will destroy. This was a nice surprise in the interim.

You're getting me all wrong. I don't hate anyone. I just dislike the fact that you guys praise him like he's the best thing to ever happen. Hell, I enjoy some of his matches, but what you guys are doing is annoying.
Annoying? Kane is one of the few things keeping this thread going during non show times.

I don't want Brock on the roster past this point if he's just 'MMA guy'. Waste of money to use him outside of the Cena match.

You guys make my head hurt...lol

So lets say Brock wins...then what?

This ending leaves a clear opening to a big rematch. Brock FUCKED him up, Cena will "take time off"and Brock wants his rematch. Brock is not coming to every RAW and PPV, it would have been pointless to make him the man right now. A good chunk of his dates are probably from Jan to WM29 anyways.

Do you not understand how wrestling feuds work? The heel is supposed to win the match, the face takes the time off, trains, whatever, and then wins the blowoff match. People pay to see the face win the blowoff. Not this way. This is backwards ass booking. Who gives a shit about another Brock/Cena match now? CENA ALREADY WON.

Not at all. I think that's why you don't see The Frankman or Spin post here as much anymore. I lurk and just seeing some of the things you guys post is annoying.

This Kane Kliq or whatever you guys call it needs to die.

This. Having to explain to several people why having Brock lose is awful booking is really mind boggling.

another way of looking at this. if Cena is going off TV for months, having Brock win tonight would be an almighty burying of Cena. Rocky, Albert, Brock, then put off TV for months.

i don't like his character, but i respect the shit out of what John has done for the business. does he deserved to be buried so hard? if he was sticking around to get a win back at the next PPV, fair enough... and if he stays on TV for the next month or two i will be a bit baffled, but why does he deserve to get buried like that?

you're all saying 'what good is it bringing in Brock if you job him to Cena' well, what good does it do jobbing your top guy in his last match before his time out after he's already put over the Rock at mania? Brock won't miss a step from taking that pin with the way they booked this match.

only people upset that Cena got to be super cena again (which was daft) are coming out with this madness that it somehow means that no one is going to take Brock Lesnar seriously as a monster heel now.

Is it really a win if the win isn't legit?

CENA WON ON WHAT AMOUNTS TO A COMPLETE FLUKE.

HE WAS DOMINATED AND DESTROYED THE WHOLE MATCH. NOTHING ABOUT CENA'S "VICTORY" IS LEGIT.

BROCK WAS FUCKING AROUND MOST OF THE MATCH.

You're acting like Cena dominated and shamed Bork. Oh please, get over it.

I would have preferred: Brock fucks Cena up and completely squashes him. Cena goes away to train, comes back with something resembling actual offense.

I was actually thinking this before the cryptic going away speech from Cena.

Are you kidding me? Brock ruined Cena's shit, to the point that he just started toying with him. He could have ended it so much earlier, but didn't. He was so ludicrously confident that he repeated a spot that he almost took himself out with the first time. In the end, he paid the price for his arrogance, losing because of a set of steps that he himself left in that ring to use to hurt Cena. Brock beat himself as much as Cena did. Now, things get interesting, because shit's going to get REAL

What if Brock is the face, and Cena is the heel though?

Right, it's the chase. Brock kills Cena, then the payoff is Cena finding a way to face Brock and beat him. I mean, shit, it's not a new concept; it's the fucking hero's journey.

Simple monster heel booking.

Brock tears through the RAW roster. He beats the upper card faces and is seen as an monster heel. He feuds with an over face like HHH and beats him, and then beats Punk to become the champ. Brock stands dominant and then Cena returns.

Now who gives a shit. Brock is just another guy. He might as well be "House of Pain" Mark Henry

Let me give an outsider's perspective. Having The Miz come out and complain he's been relegated to a YouTube prelim when it's a fucking title shot is absolutely ridiculous to me. Why have the belt if it has no prestige? So bad.

The product does suck. Kane isn't as big as you think he is. This thread should be moving because of discussion about indie wrestling and shitty TNA and WWE wrestling and not some fan kliq posting how much they adore Kane.

Yeah, better her than Kelly Kelly or something. Layla represented herself well and it's great to have her back; still, it would have been a nice bookend to last year to have Kharma leave a trail of broken Bellas in her wake.

And I'm not even sure how you can say it was a fluke win either. Cena got fucking destroyed and was still able to overcome the odds. What exactly is Brock supposed to do to make it seem like he could win a rematch, shoot him with an RPG?

Yes, that is much better.

Yeah I would have preferred Brock dominates the match. Cena gets a lucky pin. Brock destroys Cena if anger.

I dont even know where they go from here..... nowhere good.

I hate these twists for the sake of twists thing Vince is doing recently.

Because that is how BASIC booking works. When Cena returns now, who the fuck cares? He already beat the guy who took him out. If you try and make a storyline out of it anyways, it comes off like Undertaker/HHH where nobody understood why the guy who won the match demanded a rematch.

I will forgive a good deal of the end of the Lesnar vs Cena match if they do a rematch Monday where Cena gets beat and beaten up so bad that he is out for monthes to shoot Marine 3.

This is what the company is reduced to, they had a youtube dark match for the copper tag belts at Wrestlemania.

Still no gifs from the ppv?

usually people gif it as it happens, wanted to show some shots of the brock/cena match to a friend in gif format, hes not a huge fan of wrestling but as i was describing it he was like shit i need to see it.

Seriously, it's not like he beat him with a roll-up or made him accidentally step through a wooden table.

He won definitively, got to pose, give a victory lap promo, the works.

how did Cena overcome 'the odds'. the only reason he didn't lose was because of unconscious referees. it was a fluke because his tide turning strike was off a Brock mistake (throwing himself at Cena, adding the force of all his weight flying through the air to the chain punch).

the crowd counted to ten. at least. they had to stop the fight to glue Cena back together. twice.

he doesn't need to make it seem like he can win a rematch. he just needs to win the rematch (which he likely will). sell it as not being about whether or not Cena can win, but whether or not he can survive because he didn't 'survive' the first match. then you do the third one at the big PPV, or you have them trade wins back and forth. what's wrong with a good old back and forth fued like Edge and Cena used to have where they traded off wins?

did Taker vs Hunter 3 not happen?

I can guarantee you a lot of people dislike this little Kliq. It's annoying and needs to stop. If you like Kane and want to discuss about him, why not discuss his matches instead of posting a bunch of irrelevant family pics? I tend to lurk this thread, but I could have sworn at one point this thread was swarmed with Kane family images for the longest time.

This.

They're going to book the Summer Slam rematch like the fucking Taker/HHH rematch. They'll act like Cena lost the same way they acted like Taker lost.

This is exactly what happened with Cena at Wrestlemania, and it wasn't followed-up on one fucking bit. It you expect it to now, your wasting your time.

Because finishers have been so effective at finishing matches the last few years, right? ;) It was 2 moves. Ridiculous. You set up Brock as a glass jaw now.

A fluke win in an extreme rules match?

The finish was dumb. Everything else on the PPV sounds good. Everything I saw on the PPV looked good including the majority of the Cena/Lesnar match. That finish was just bad. It doesn't make RAW interesting in the slightest.

Brock destroys Cena tonight and he is the clear alpha dog. He dominates several other big names (Orton, Punk, etc) until you either have him feud with a returning Cena, Rock or Undertaker. The way things are now, he's just another guy who came close to beating Cena, but couldn't get the job done.

Like i said he isn't coming to every show. He's just going to beat everyone up and disappear till WM? The question is did he HAVE to win this? no...I've watched Cena bury guys before and this wasn't one of them.

This is wrestling, so the fuck what if he lost. The beauty part is there will always be more matches down the line. This match didn't hurt anyone. Wrassle-gaf is being over dramatic like usual.

Brock hurled himself face first through the air into a fist wrapped with chains. i don't know why we're pretending this was just a regular move.

Bork pretty much knocked himself out earlier, got hit by a chain, and acted like a complete moron outside of the first 7-8 minutes with this "King Of The Hill" shit with the steps.

As long as they build him destroying Cena so badly he has to go on the shelf (which I called) who really is the winner. Oh sure he "won" the match but lost the war.
Brock hurled himself face first through the air into a fist wrapped with chains. i don't know why we're pretending this was just a regular move.
SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!

It hurts Cena long term as much as it does Brock. Cena overcomes the odds, that is his schtick. If he faces Brock again what odds are there to overcome? He already won the damn match. When Hogan needed time off in the early 90's he got attacked by Earthquake and earthquake destroyed him. Hogan got wheeled out on a stretcher, kids and women in tears the whole 9 yards. WWE ran an angle where Hogan had lost his edge and even had fans write letters of encouragemant to him. Meanwhile Earthquake is now the guy who took out Hogan and gets heat all over the country. Hogan comes back a few months later, gets revenge, and becomes the "immortal" hulk hogan. Hulk finally had to face real adversity and overcome. What if Hulk gets squashed, hulks up, and beats 'quake with no time off? Absolutely fucking nothing. Same old boring Hogan bullshit. Instead he became a bigger hero while taking Earthquake to a level he never would have gotten to on his own. That is proper booking, that is how you generate interest and make money. Most of all that is how you build a heel, you have him desroy the guys who sell tickets and merchandise. WWE has no fucking clue how to build a heel.
