Just as Cena's loss to the Rock didn't hurt Cena. Cena needs to sell that he's hurt by Lesnar thus pushing Lesnar as someone that doesn't care about wins or losses, just "hurting" people. I assume this is the direction that they are going, one would hope. It would have been better for Cena and Brock if Cena was knocked out .. but that's my opinion.
You know who else doesn't care about wins or losses. How about
EVERYONE ELSE on the roster?
Brodus doesn't care about winning or losing. He cares about being able to dance afterwards.
Santino doesn't care about winning or losing. He cares about being able to act like a goof and put a sock puppet on his arm.
Zack Ryder doesn't care about winning or losing. He cares about being able to get into Eve's pants and get on television to say his stale catchphrase.
Vickie Guerrero doesn't care about winning or losing. She keeps trotting Ziggles and Swagger out there night after night with a big 'ole smile no matter how much they lose.
Only D.Brine seems to care about winning or losing right now. And that was really only to have something to hang over AJ's head and who knows how long that will last for?
You want to know who cared about winning or losing in the Attitude era? How about
EVERYONE ELSE on the roster?
Hell, Crash Holly made a name for himself evading defeat at every opportunity when holding the Hardcore title during its 24/7 era.
This is Vince we're talking about. He undoubtedly gives 0 fucks about the shareholders and only cares about stroking his ego and making sure he gets what he wants out of the product. Whether it be embarrassing JR or having Brock job to Cena.
At the end of the day this will be the primary reason why all of Vince's non-wrestling ventures fail. He can't step away from the product. He can't trust anyone. He overrules
EVERYONE. He can't just assign responsibility, let the WWE take care of itself and focus on putting out a good football league or making good movies or helping his wife win an election or launching his own TV network. And when he
IS focused on something, he doesn't make decisions that are "good for business" and nobody has the balls to tell him it's a bad idea when he does.
I wonder how many cards in a row the main event will be lost because the guy who dominated the match "got cocky" and let his guard down.
