April Wrasslin |OT| D.Brine collects his P45

A pale as hell lobster headed mother is a marine?

He can save face with the stupid babies by fainting from the pain of getting shot, no selling death.

For no reason the war will stop around him after, completely unfairly for the bad guys while he's allowed a chance to be treated and recover.

This is Vince we're talking about. He undoubtedly gives 0 fucks about the shareholders and only cares about stroking his ego and making sure he gets what he wants out of the product. Whether it be embarrassing JR or having Brock job to Cena.

Also!

Apparently this dude only has 1 shirt?
Oh, I know. Learned that long ago. But I just can't help having my mind-boggled by it. I made the comparison maybe a year ago (and the similar Al Davis claims were made yesterday) but he's basically been in his crazy-ass Mr. Burns "locked away in his Casino/Spruce Moose" phase for quite a while now. It's Vince's money and he'll piss it away how he wants to at this point, regardless of the long-term consequences.

Also, like I said before, just speaking personally, but I was pretty bored by that beatdown, because I knew Super-Cena was just gonna take it at the end once again. Just jaded beyond hell about it at this point. And being out for however long, with a worked injury or whatever, isn't gonna change anything when he gets back. So whatever.

Anyway, catching the Jays game tonight, so I'm looking forward to an entertaining post-Raw Wrassle-GAF thread whenever I get back home.
Well WWE announced HHH returns tonight officially. He's gotta shove his big fucking nose into the Brock storyline.
Oh boy! Exactly what I wanted. Definitely made the right decision to skip out on Raw haha.

So are they super fans? Part of creative? What's the story?

Super fans. At least the guy in the white blazer is. He attended most of the events last year. He wears Cena shirts even though he's most likely from Chicago. Guess he's just trolling.

I will laugh so much if HHH does stick himself in Bork's stuff.

THE FANS, THEY'RE ALL THAT MATTERS, YOU GET OVER WITH THEM THEN YOU'RE OVER

YOU HAVEN'T ACHIEVED ANYTHING, I BEAT THE UNDERTAKER AT WM (lol)

Hey remember when the board of directors fired Triple H as GM and made Laurinitis interim GM, but then came back as his boss with no explanation? Wasn't that awesome?

Uber .. you just listed all the "joke" characters of the E. Their not supposed to care because we're not supposed to care. I don't see any problem with a character that does not care about wins or loses but "hurting" people.
That was kind of the point I was making. Even the "joke" characters cared about winning or losing during the Attitude era. Crash was also a joke character but the outcome of the matches still meant something to him.

The message being sent right now is that we're not supposed to care about any match outcome and to only tune in to see our favorites do their unfunny non-wrestling schtick in person. And that we should cheer for John Cena because he works hard and makes kids wishes come true.

I feel like a lot hangs in the balance tonight. It's either going to be amazing or terrible.

It does. And WWE unfortunately falls on its face more often than not after following a hot PPV like ER. But hey, there's always that chance it'll be amazing...but I doubt it since the words "Triple H" appeared.

I'm OK with Brock losing. What matters now is what they do with him next. If he loses to his next opponent then yea they fucked this up. As of right now, if doesn't hurt him much since he was so dominant in the match and only lost because he played around with Cena.

The most surprising thing from last night was that Cena received zero boos and all cheers during his post-match speech, and to be fair it seemed totally improvised. I dunno if he was supposed to mention he was taking a break but I could be wrong. I guess we'll find out tonight.

Layla really is the finest Diva ever, but Eve looked amazing last night.

Reason why there weren't any boos was because:
1. It was a good match, even thought it wasn't really all that impressive. It was entertaining.
2. Cena took legit elbows as a way to sell the match. And brock took a legit punch. As much as we smarks (and those in the crowd in Chicago) hate the way Cena's booked, you can't hate on a match like that, where two guys decide to work stiff and mess each other up legit for the sake of entertainment.

I know why we didn't, but it definitely felt lacking, not having Otunga and his mug there.

So do you all still hate Sheamus? I thought he did great last night.

I didn't, but he really elevated his game and proved to a crowd of smarks that he can wrestle his ass off, and that helped so much in that entire match. Match of the PPV, no doubt about it!

How awesome would it have been if you had Brock destroy Cena last night, Cena disappears, and then comes back in a few months for the rematch against a newly crowned world champion Brock Lesnar who has been destroying everyone in his path. Lesnar refuses to give him a rematch and says he hasn't earned it. Cena has to fight his way back to the top. Cena beats a few guys on ppv, then wins at the Rumble earning the title shot at Mania. They bring in a guy from UFC who beat Brock to help train Cena for his rematch at Mania like Overeem or Cain Velasquez. You get training videos for a couple of months of Cena training with them, learning bjj, learning different submissions, etc.

A modern day Rocky III without Mr. T.

EDIT: The problem is, where do you go from there? Does Cena destroy everyone until his career is over, since he now fights 'legit'?

Stop doing this to yourself!

To be honest I thought the Rock was coming back to get Cena out of his slump. Rock/Cena training vids with the Rocky theme music and everything. Ahh, fantasy booking.

You know what's better? Cena wins, Brock is just another guy, and Vince gets to bury UFC because they can't hang with WWE!

But Bobo, that would involve WWE knowing how to write long-term.

I'm just amazed at how simple it is to book engaging storylines, yet they fuck it up every damn time. That literally took me 1 minute to think of.

Unlike last nights main event result... this makes sense to me. Sadly... I can't deny that I'm a fan regardless of what happens and will tune in tonight be disgusted when Mr. H's comes out.

Even though I'm unhappy with some of the results from last night.. the ppv was amazing to me and I had a great time watching it. Last nights main event helped me realize how much of a fan I truly am because I went off the handle in a fit of rage when Cener won.

It's not healthy. Hell I remember how disappointed people were with the Invasion angel.. and even before that. Why didn't Hogan face Flair at Wrestlemania 8? Wouldn't that have made sense? Sure...but it didn't happen. You have to let it go.

I like the fact that so many of us are talking about the ppv, even those that are mad. When was the lats time you were happy or upset about anything TNA did?

i don't know. how awesome would it be seeing Brock destroy CM Punk? not very i don't think, and way to bury all the people who are going to be sticking around after Brock's one year is done.

i get the argument of 'Cena can take the loss' because he can, but who else do you have Brock demolish while Cena is on the shelf? this isn't a 'one and done' fight like with Rock. and it's not like your usual monster heel because you're hoping those stick around. monster heels start losing occasionally once they reach the main event right?

if Cena is going to be out for a while (a big if) I think this finish is more defensible. if he isn't going to be out for more than a couple of weeks, it's really stupid. Brock winning was more logical, but this wasn't a derailment, just an unexpected speed bump.

as is Brock is beatable at a huge cost. that makes me more excited for his next match than if he just continually squashes the top level talent. squash matches are what you use to build a monster heel and they end once you get to the top of the card. Brock came fully formed.

Sheamus and D.Brine were both awesome last night.
It was the match they should have been allowed to have at WrestleMania when 5 or 6 times as many people were watching.

I think we all have to be used to dissapointment from WWE

Plus with all this that happened, I don't want any of you to badmouth TNA Ever EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER AGAINE

It's disingenuous to say they turned Brock into "just another guy" with his loss. While I disagree with Brock losing and think a win would have helped booking, the rest of the match was practically a live snuff film and that made Brock look genuinely scary.

Anyway, last night was quite a good PPV but each match could have been better. Very interested to see where Brock, Bryan, and Punk all go from here.

As bad as some of the writing at Extreme Rules was, it's leagues better than your average TNA episode/PPV.

Yep. My roommate basically turned into a Cena mark last night, as she thought most of it was Brock being an asshole and not being able to control himself - which is EXACTLY what the WWE wanted people to feel. And she's reasonably educated about wrasslin too. She's not some "peasant" child with a Cena shirt by any means, but man, she was heated with how "unprofessional" Lesnar was and it really pissed her off.

Best thing you can hope for at this point for Daniel Bryan is a feud with Orton or a 3 way match at the next ppv with Del Rio and Sheamus. If I'm thinking how WWE thinks either Big Show or Great Khali beat him on Smackdown and he resumes his losing streak. Punk and Jericho are going to continue feuding even though Punk has beat him twice in a row now. Talk about backwards booking. HHH will come out to the ring with Laurinitis and say the board of directors aren't giving into Lesnar's demands. Lesnar walks out and starts bitching about how he's going to quit or walk and HHH will pedigree him or Lesnar will F5 HHH.
