Aragami - Cel shaded indie Tenchu, control the shadows on PC/PS4, releasing Oct 4th

Will you be having interior locales? I love the look of the game, but it would help if you could show off a wider variety of environments. The sceens all look a bit repetitive.
I believe they've all been from the same area so far.

We've planned for 13 scenarios. 3 in an open Graveyard; 3 in a Forest, Lake and Mountain; 3 in the Sacred City of Kyuryu and 3 in the Temple Gardens and Temple Interior and an Epilogue also in the Inner Temple.

Here's some concept art for some scenarios (it's the first time I post the forest concepts!):

I feel like this looks way better than the last time I saw it (unless there's another not-Tenchu made by indie devs).
Holy crap, this looks insanely good. Definitely keeping an eye on it.

The scenarios are quite open, so you usually play in exteriors, but there's also plenty of buildings and interiors. The 1st and 2nd act mostly exterior.. but the 3rd act (a city) and the 4th act (a fortress / temple) have a lot of interiors and enclosed spaces.

Holy hell, how have I not seen this before?

This is one of the prettiest games I've ever seen. The art style just completely works for me.

As a huge fan of Tenchu and a person who has been lamenting its loss, I can't wait for this. Hope it does great to get squeals and inspires more Tenchu like games.

If the soundtrack can hold a candle to the original Tenchu games, i'm in. As in, dont just go classic Japanese instruments, but a fusion of modern and classic.

Looks great but I have one problem with the way it looks:
The executions. They don't seem... powerful or would I dare to say... satisfying ? Well maybe it's not the right word. But when you play games such as Tenchu or Shinobido, you can feel how strong the stealth executions are. Usually they have a cinematic angle/presentation and really feel like you did an amazing move.

I'm aware it's a work in progress but I hope this aspect will be worked out.

Holy shit this looks very nice. I absolutely loved Tenchu 1 and 2 and 3 as well to a certain extend. So what's the latest on this? Is this coming this year?

If there's no problem it should be out in 6-7 months.

The original prototype had cinematic/tenchu static camera for kills. We got rid of them because they 'broke' the gameplay pacing, taking away the control from the player and potentially putting him in danger. While playing you want to maintain control of the camera at all times, that way you can see what's around you and quickly run away or hide if there's any trouble.

Eh, it's sad, really. even if not cinematic, I think you should find a way to make it more.. intense. like screen effect, or sound. Here, they just sounds like dull.

Congratulations on the good work so far guys, this looks well up my street. I adore and still play Tenchu: Stealth Assassins. Of course there are elements where one could wish a modern hand could come in and clean up a bit. But I still think the basic game is pretty flawless, and it sounds like you have a great handle on what made it successful.

Please try your hardest!

Personally, I think it was the right thing to do. Cinematic angles spoiled my enjoyment of Deux Ex last gen. It just completely killed the immersion IMO. It should have been like Dishonored.

Not that I don't agree with the fact that there is a lack of "something" here though.
I think it lies 90% in the animations (both the attacker and the victim should slow down down a bit before they stop moving for half a second when there's a hit) and maybe 10% in the post effects (see God of War's screen shake).

Haven't been following this, but it appears to be shaping up very well. Nice to see that they were able to make it this far even though their kickstarter failed.
