Are the Cleveland Browns the worst franchise in all of sports?

Yeah, Wrigley is the best.

I bet those obstructed view season tickets are still thousands of dollars

People posting about the 76ers and cubs need to step off

Cleveland sports are heartbreaking at every level and the people of Cleveland will probably never see success despite being die hard fans

Philadelphia 76ers are intentionally losing games every year to get the highest draft pick.

But since the NBA uses a lottery system, they haven't won the #1 overall pick yet.

Every time the Sixers have a player step up and look good, they trade him.

So, for right now, the 76ers are the worst franchise in the world.

So far as the Big-4 non-soccer sports go.

Most ignorant comment I've seen on the Sixers in a while. Have you seen any of the games they've played? A lot of them have actually been pretty close. They just lack talent and experience. No team loses on purpose.

76ers have been bad for a long time, but as a Nets fan I think the Nets are worse historically. At least the 76ers have won the Finals before. Nets may be worse than the Browns. Never won anything since moving to the NBA. Perpetually inept front office. Gave away Julius Erving for cash. Traded multiple lottery picks for 1 season of a washed up Kevin Garnett and Pierce. Signed Deron Williams to a max contract at the exact moment he fell off from being an elite player. Their best player since they came to the NBA became the coach, then demanded to be let go a year late. It's a total shitshow going back decades.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what the Sabres were doing last year and then kicked and screamed when they didn't get the first pick. Teams like that should have sanctions put on them. Trading away a goalie that's keeping them in games. It was a joke.

Ehhhh. I would think it's a team you hardly ever even think about. Have the Bucks,

Have a championship and multiple playoff appearances, some even being this decade. Currently have a strong core of young talent being built

Timberwolves

Made the playoffs seven straight years, including a trip to the conference finals. They are mediocre, but not the worst run.

Multiple playoff appearances, some this decade. Has a nice core right now.

ever done anything at all? I certainly can't think of anything. Vince Carrer I guess.

They may be the flashiest, most famous bad franchise though.

See above. The Browns have been consistently futile for damn near 30 years. The clippers until recently have been the same way. But unlike the Clippers and the Lions, the Browns can't seem to build any kind of consistency i.e. Playoff appearances. The closest team to them right now are the Raiders, and even they have multiple championships and Super Bowls in their history. The Browns fucking blow.

Well the players and coaches aren't losing on purpose, but the management is.

Wait a minute.. I recently saw a documentary (had fantastic production by the way) about a great draft the Browns had recently.. they somehow turned 1 pick into like 12 and were well on their way to a superbowl.

So what happened?

They're the Browns.

I know these new Browns get to keep their records from the previous team that was the Browns and is now the Ravens. But as an organization, this is still the youngest team in the NFL franchise-wise, and they've been shit the entire time. The Ravens are the true continuation of what the Browns started decades ago.

The Houston Texans are younger, but I agree that new Cleveland has been shit since they reformed.

Since Cleveland's season is over in terms of playoff contention, I don't know why they don't throw in drunk Johnny Manziel at QB. Go ahead and let him chug a few beers before each quarter, and watch him entertain the fans. Solidify that #1 pick in the draft, then let go of Manziel at the end of the season.

The Seattle Mariners squandered the talent of Ichiro for his whole career, that has to be an infamy of some kind.

Heck, why stop there. They also squandered the entire career of Edgar Martinez and are now doing the same to Felix Hernandez. Also Griffey Jr (before he left), A-Rod (before he left), and Randy Johnson (before he left).

In the NFL it's a toss up between the Jags, Lions and Browns.

In the NBA the Timberwolves and the BobCats are headed that way.

Jacksonville Jaguars.

I was waiting for this reply.

Hopefully the new regime can turn things around (I have doubts that Bradley is the answer though)

Also, they went 14-2 in '99 and won a playoff game in '07 - far from the worst in the NFL, let alone all sports

We couldn't even manage to do anything with Griffery, Arod, Edgar and Randy Johnson either.

We had the one 116 win season and then choke that shit too. And now we have Felix wasting his good years.

Anyways back to scooter's question. It's a tie between the Browns and Lions.

76ers made the finals within the last 20 years. Those two teams can't do shit. Lions recently made the playoffs so i give them some credit but still 0-16 and 0 playoff wins since 1991.

Super Bowl! Super Bowl! Super Bowl!

You don't ask for J.C., You ask for K.C.

It's just amazing how terribly the Browns fuck up their team-building at QB.

Surprised that jersey hasn't been posted yet.

Out of curiosity, why the Bengals? Aside from the lost decade from the 90's to the early 2000's which I'll be the first to admit was a shit show, they've been nowhere near the worst franchise.

All I really know them from is early 90s through mid 2000s. I see they've had good seasons since 2009 but they're still consistently going out in the wildcard round of the playoffs. That I can relate to since that was the M.O. of the Dolphins during Marino's last 4 or 5 seasons. :|

at least Cleveland fans can leech off Ohio state

It's what makes football season tolerable for us.

That distinction goes to my beloved Lakers. The next 30 years of futility will be unmatched in the annals of time.

Not sure if serious.. If you are even and if that were true.. (Which it isn't) look at your success. I would argue that the Lakers are the most spoiled franchise in American sports.. Hands down.

I would say yes. Maybe the Lions too.

Right now in the last decade.. Yes.

Overall.. Nope. Eagles and lions still have us beat in terms of atrociousness.

Currently.. We are the worst franchise in America. Hands down.

Guess she hasn't gotten around to scratching JFF and whoever else has played this year at QB.

It's usually updated at the start of every season for obvious reasons.

The Browns aren't the worst. They just frequently fail in the most unexpected and entertaining of ways. They're also saddled with what is usually a really tough division.
