The gameplay and production values where great.
The story was meh and the pacing was terrible though

That's the problem with "woke" as a term. It doesn't really have a set definition that everyone agrees on, so it's pretty meaningless.
Some people call everything "woke" as soon as the main character is not a white male or a hot female, or there are gay characters. Others see it more as diversity being added in a way that feels forced and unnatural and is only there trying to please a certain loud online demographic. For others it's more about the tone being preachy or more concerned about delivering some "progressive" social messaging than telling a compelling story.
Like in one of my favourite games, The Outer Wilds, all the characters are gender neutral aliens that use "they/them" pronouns, and while yeah it's a bit jarring to read, I wouldn't call the game "woke" because of it

Recently Spider-man 2 without a doubt. Ghostrunner 2 and ofc Elden Ring, especially the DLC but hardly anyone cares since its Japanese made so they are instantly pardoned because double standards right?

Yeah, that's my opinion. It's not like the game's rubbing on your face how gay Miquella is at all times nor trying to push an agenda about it. It just so happens to be a character that really loves his brother (might not be even in a sexual way).
Plus, that twink's the antagonist, one that rejects all his humanity to achieve his objective and that works by brainwashing people. It's not a perfect Marie-sue in any kind of way, so I don't see how that character can be considered woke in any way.
The ones that I consider to be woke? Yeah, for sure. Either the devs want to push an agenda or they were paid to do so.
But then again, the definition of woke might change depending on the person you ask about it. For me, games like TLOU2, Spider-Man 2 or that Dustborn game sure are woke as hell. They rub their message on your face at all times, with 0 subtlety, and even put that crap above the actual gameplay at times.

U can present/talk/have gay or other things in ur game and it doesnt need to be woke, same way this movie, even tho it had many diverse characters had nothing woke in it

Ppl give example of spiderman2, where maryjane 1- got uglyfied to look like she is in her 50s, yet can not only have sex but keep longterm relationship with superhero young stud like peter parker with stable job and decent sized house in new york- normally woman looking like that wouldnt qualify for one night stand for a guy like peter(looks/intelingence/wealth/status), since he has plethora bad bitches around him.
2- she fights off trained soldiers as a woman who avg gaffer would literally 1 or max 2shot (yes even 150lbs guys who never experienced fistfight would have 0 problem with mj irl

I see what you mean, but "pushing woke agenda" means a portrayal of certain themes with the ulterior motve of advancing a particular set of ideas, goals, or policies, such as normalizing transsexuality, and yes the industry is sure full of it, with prime examples like the Dustborn where the devs point blank brag about it. But I'm sure a lot of games from that list is just people with certain outlook on reality trying to make games with characters they want to see and stories they just want to write. That's just California. Shift Up made Stellar Blade and I somehow don't think they did it with an agenda to push of re-normallizing hot chicks in gaming. If I were to make games with bro-dudes and bikini armor ladies (need more of those in my life goddamit) that's not because I want to advance the image of classic partiarchal dominance, I just think that's a cool theme.

I didn't play Spiderman 2 and I totally hear you about the STONG EMPOWERED WAMEN trope but I find it more hilarious than outrageous. I like female protagonists tho and I don't usually pay as much attention to measuring their chin size as I see on twitter.

While I agree with all of this, I'd like to add that imo Elden Ring didn't include a gay character to push any kind of message. And if that was their goal, making that character be an evil brainwashing antagonist isn't the best way to do so imo.

I didnt play it either, and i like female protagonists too, played for example nier automata, drakengard games, and ofc many tomb raider games like probably most of gaf oldtimers, both the 90s games with og super sexy lara croft and the rebooted games which were solid too
There are many more amazing games with female protagonists, which absolutelly arent woke, bayonetta series or even from sony itself

I couldn’t care less if a game is cobsidered woke or not, to be honest. However it seems to me that the games engsging in political comment usually fare less well due to putting the actual gaming experience in the back seat.

Probably my favorite Japanese youtuber for gaming. At 3:15 is when you see it. He even gets confused, like uhh.. what is type A or type B? Then he quickly figured out, "oh it means guy or girl."

I bought Spiderman 2 though (since Spiderman PS4 is one of my favourite superhero games)...bought it on launch thinking it can't be that bad.
In the begining it went pretty fine,It didn't feel condescending or trying to send "the message" through the writting,seeing Mary Jawline Watson made me want to put a hammer through my tv but I grinded my teeth and continued since I enjoyed everything not relating to her...I worked on 100%ing the game like I do with most games generally.Then around the half point,or maybe earlier,it started...

Echoing many other people in this topic, yes, Spider Man 2 and TLOU2. The gameplay in both was good enough to where I could mostly ignore that heavy handed pandering. Mostly.
Spider Man 2 was so strange to me. It was clearly a Peter-focused story and the inclusion of Miles was just not done well. It felt like the devs wrote a story for Peter and then were mandated to include a playable Miles, but they couldn't come up with any real logical reason to include him. So instead they just gave him random token liberal side quests that were unrelated to anything else going on in with the core conflict. And here's the thing, I think Miles' game was actually just as good, if not a little bit better, than Spider Man 1. They should have made SM2 a Pete solo game and then did a Miles 2 where he could actually get a decent story for himself instead of feeling like he was forced into SM2 to meet a quota.
As to TLOU2, there's nothing redeeming about that game's story. Literally nothing. Retcons. Plot holes. Characters doing stupid, illogical things to make the plot happen. I have no problem with killing Joel. It was a bold move. It just wasn't done well.
