I don't have the weight support for quad legs. Bafflingly awful encounter design.
Then try putting lighter frame, I was able to put Quadlegs and still light enough to carry grenade launcher. I also disagree about being "awful" encounter, I actually like that mission, it made me think how to customize my mech to over come the challenge which what AC is all about.

Currently I'm loving testing out different builds and tweaking them in the PvP mode.

Please explain how it's bad design.
Gluing invisible enemies to walls in a boxy arena is non-design. I love FS, I like ACVI - but this encounter is village-idiot dumb.

A range of different height platforms or cover options to move between or leverage, a particular weakness or response pattern to the enemies that form the basis of some kind of strategic puzzle, environmental hazards like explosive boxes or water sprinklers that compromise the stealth tech. A variety of enemy types rather than three identical snipers, vaulting platforms to rapidly ascend, particle trails to trace your enemies movements... I could go on.

'Quit out, grind some cash and fit hover legs' is a meta-game solution that undermines the narrative tension.

Even without Quadlegs you easily get to them, they are not that high up and I carried two grenade launcher and two hits and they were dead......why people love hyperbole about everything!

I explained why I thought it was a weak encounter and all you've got is 'I can reach them!' Spoiler: I could reach them too! I completed the level of my fourth or fifth attempt. It was still tedious, lazy and shit, for all the reasons I gave, but sure 'I can reach them, lol, hyperbole much' is definitely a well-considered riposte.

Wanna bat for Capra Demon or Bed of Chaos next? 'I could beat them!' should suffice.

I didn't swap out for a quadleg or anything special for that mission. All I did was keep moving and used my scanners. Took them on with a beam rifle and missiles

I’m still I don’t understand what makes it lazy!? AC is all about building mech so you can do mission more efficiently, thats what these games all about. Heck I finished the mission my first attempt and then made it better mech to get S rank.

Because the difficulty comes from making them invisible, multiplying them and then sticking them on random walls.

Again you use scan to find their location and they have very little health, two hit from Grenade launcher and they are dead. In fact hardest part of that mission is the mech on ground with the shield.

man aint nobody as tough as balteus yet, just reached the first branching quests and cleared all of the arena through rank C

are they the chumps, or did balteus make me that strong?

The fact that I feel I have to use tank legs makes me completely understand people who write death threats to developers. I don't condone it, but I get it.

NG++ down. That was quite the bombastic finale. EASILY the best action game of the year.

Not sure what to do next, I only have a few S ranks done, and hitting another 50+ feels like a monumental, impossible task as some of the missions were hard AF on their own. I'm pretty ok at the game right now but if I move to something else I'll get rusty real quick and it will be so much harder.

I also don't quite get S rank requirements. Different sites say different things. Especially ammo cost management. It's obviously too easy with the timer, no death and minimum damage taken, so I also have to use "cheap" weapons doing it? And it seems like I also can't skip optional enemies that used to carry combat logs. Really?

If you showed me this game in 1997 when I played Heavy Gear ?! I would not believe you lol

Weird that I have never heard of this game before considering I have Mech fetish. It looks really cool and something I would consider playing even today.

Heavy Gear was fantastic. There is also a very good sequel!
Not sure how it holds up but it was this heavy, realistic mech game.

You guys already done and I just started... Died like 5 times to the helicopter boss until I said fuck it and decided to go at him with the sword lol. Did the traning mission and got a machine gun, much prefer that over the rifle.

4k max settings getting 110-120 fps with VRR, no stutters or anything, looks and plays awesome.

God fucking damn at the true final boss

Did ANYONE expect that an asshole NPC ally in Chapter 1, hates you so much that he merges with ALLMIND and takes over the AI that wants to assimilate everyone and overcomes and overpower it out of sheer spite and hate towards you? Also good lord that massive AC that he pilots, is terrifying.

What are the steps to get to the real ending? how many playthroughs?
3 playthroughs. 1rst playthrough
always side with Ayre and betray Walter. 2nd playthrough side with Walter and Carla and betray Ayre. 3rd playthough just do the missions that weren't there before to fight Iguazu/ALLMIND and get the alien goo waifu in heaven ending.

Most S ranks are about time only. The only time i remember damage/ammo costs being an issue for rank is where you can kill stuff for credits that offsets it (I think the wall mission is one). Sometimes you have to do something special, like if you are escorting/protecting something, don't let it take a lot of damage. I think there might only be like 2-3 missions where you have to kill a combat log mech along with time to get s, but you can usually tell if you do it real fast and don't get an s rank. It's not too bad, but definitely time consuming.

Ive had so little time over the past week to play, about 8 hours in now and Im obsessed with it. For some reason its just what I need right now, a departure from the very popular open world and FPS games. Just sort of appreciating again a return to a structured approach while having the freedom to try different things.

And yeah this game just plays great. Soundtrack is amazing. Scale is incredible. Its hitting all the right notes for me.

My only complaint so far... there is no fucking Dualsense trigger support? Wasted opportunity.

I don't think my carpal tunnel ass wrists could handle that unfortunately lol.

Beat the chapter 2 boss. Wasn't too bad. Two songbirds + gatting guns. Staggered hos ass real quick. Then kept really close while moving around him. Took me probably 7 tries or so but it was a much more relaxed fight than Balteus.

Getting to him was a bitch though. Fucking satellite lasers. Ended up just going super light weight with like a Pistol and running through everything.

The helicopter is a test. How many deaths do you need to suffer before you pull out the sword and go FUCK IT WE BOOST

Impressive to see according to the Steam statistics that fully 23% of the owners of AC6 never figured that out 🥴

Yeah I only get a little bit of time here and there. It sucks seeing people finish it so quickly :(

It’s an incredibly easy game but it can be incredibly hard as well. Your build will literally determine how long you’ll take to complete it which is fortunately easily customizable.

I’ve seen people get stuck on the tutorial mission for hours while I’ve also seen someone beat the final boss without moving a single step like a baby could beat it.

interesting. For now, it feels like if I focus only on time as the only factor it becomes so tight it wouldn't hurt to have some real data about those offsets.

I'll give you an example, Destroy Transport Helicopters in Chapter 1. Many places say that if the mission lists "killing as many enemies for points" as a bonus requirement, this is what you should do for S. There is also a combat log tetrapod there that Walter tells you not to fight. I've seen videos on youtube of people getting S ranks playing this mission relatively slow but killing a bunch of enemies along the way. Some, not all. Tried that for an hour, getting only As.

Then I saw another video S video - the guy just speed-boosting from chopper to chopper. So I started practicing that and was also getting As... sometimes with all end-level scores better than the S rank youtube video.

Eventually, at one point I got an S, by optimizing my boosts down to a second, making sure I one-shot every chopper to save ammo and ALMOST no damage. I find it hard to believe you have to play this perfectly, since I got some other S ranks first try on later missions with heavy expensive loadout and using medkits without much trouble?

Congrats on the plat, very impressive. Feels to me now like truly a hard one to get.
