Seemingly determined not to let his forehead dry between projects, Arnold Schwarzenegger has committed to filming a new “Terminator” movie once he completes “Unknown Soldier” (the science fiction film in which he plays a sandy-haired killer), which begins shooting in August, and “Ten”, the corrupt cops flick he’s doing with David Ayer in the winter.
Action Effects quote the unstoppable Austrian as saying he will peel the leathers back on next year for filming on “T5″.
“I can’t say to much they want it held in secret if you know what I mean, but I will say that next year I will start filming it and it’s going to be one of the hardest films I have ever done I can tell you that already for sure”, Schwarzenegger said “… they have six months set aside just for filming, so I will be training and getting into the best physical shape I possibly can before filming starts. It does follow Salvation although some of the producers and franchise owner were not to happy about the job McG did with it but they felt it was good enough to continue on and they want the fifth and sixth installments to be the closing of the franchise.”
So that’s Schwarzenegger announcing his commitment to two more “Terminator” movies? Geez, those biceps are going to need some deep heat.
Justin Lin had long been attached to direct the next “Terminator” movie but his commitment to the “Fast & Furious” films keeps delaying the get-going date. No word on whether Lin is still involved.

Summary:

Terminator 5 and 6 are definitely happening with Arnold set to be in both
Both films will be based off Salvation which Arnold admits sucked but it will be a trilogy with Salvation being the first film of the trilogy
Tentative Date of 2013 for filming
McG will not be part of franchise.

Great way for Arnold to end his action career. I think its pretty much a given after Terminator 6 he will hang up his boots with action movies

Awesome news, I wonder what role he will play? Maybe some old military guy who was captured and who the T-800's were based on because he was the ultimate thorn in their side before Connor? Maybe he will just go and be a Terminator and blow shit up again?

Either way, I'm hyped.

That means more Christian Bale as John Connor?

But...terminators don't age!
Actually, since they are living tissue that can sweat, bleed and heal, and since in T2 Arnold said that his batteries could last him up to 120 years; it can be assumed that they age.

Which made me realise.. HOW THE HELL SKYNET GENERATEd LIVING HUMAN TISSUES? They would recycle the flesh of human prisoners?

but, but... Terminator 3 and Salvation never existed.

PS: I hope someday he signs for Conan: The King, (cause last Conan never existed, either)

Nope. Not buying it. There is no possible role for him that cannot be done better by a stand in who isn't 60 years old and cgi.

This is good news. Personally, I enjoyed Terminator Salvation, but I realize that's an unpopular opinion. I thought Terminator 3 was a poor man's Terminator 2.

Isn't that what do they were doing to the prisoners in Salvation? Y'know, before Conner storms Skynet HQ and finds Reese.

Herding them into the facility to 'harvest' them?

Maybe we'll find out who those people in the window were in this one, I'm guessing one was Arnie, who were the others? Human collaborators Skynet uses to base the Terminator models from?
