Bale was such a miscast for John Connor.

I know people hate thebeef, but he would have been a better fit for how I imagined John Connor: an underdog.

edit: what the fuck is up with his hair lol

I thought Salvation was an OK action flick. I am a huge huge huge terminator nerd and if they can do something to bring Arnold back and in decent shape, you never know. Could be an amazing way to end his career. It will be interesting to see what they do with the story.

My Take is that in Terminator 5 Arnold will be the bad guy again dueling it out with future John. He will be captured by John Conner at the end of the 5th film. You will see Kyle Reese and the T-800 from the first film go back through time to the events in T1. In 6, the "good" T-800 has been reprogrammed and fights side by side with future John before being sent back in time to the events in T2.

Who knows but that would be kinda cool.

I thought Norman Reedus could make a good john conner, He looks like Furlong (or at least as the kid from T2, grown up), and seems to be a good commando type (walking dead)

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
Hopefully they take the bare minimum from Salvation other than the Reese/Connor characters.

I thought Salvation had decent action. Definitely wasn't a good movie, definitely wasn't a horrible one either.

The trailer for Salvation was indeed awesome-but the movie? Eh. It wasn't horrible-but it was really unmemorable.

Also-looks like they started filming already-here's the T-800 in action:

That was before Rise of the Machines. He was ripped as hell in that film.

I have no interest in seeing an old man running around pretending to be a terminator. It's not like Arnie was ever a good actor. The appeal of Arnie was always about how he looked. He had the right physique for the action movies he was cast in.

Laugh all you want, but I think he would had been a perfect fit still, if he lost the extra weight. In my mind, John Connor is not a super clean cut guy; in T2 when he was young, John was a little tough kid who hacked atms, stole money, rode around with his friend and always got into trouble. He was taught all sorts of stuff from the mexican cartel guys his mom dated; he learned from them all the technical stuff (lets assume he also had affinity for technical things, but the cartel/guerilla guys taught him how to fraud, how to clone card, hacking), as well as all the weapon handling, explosive, and so on. I assume that by the end of T2, they both went back to Mexico so that he could learn more.

Thats why T:Salvation didnt work. John Connor was suddenly super in shape, doing all sorts of military special op stuff, was super clean up.. I dont expect a resistance guy to look like that, but then again T:Salvation had tons of problems.. the resistance had submarines, etc etc.. Future John Connor should look like a thug, thinned out from YEARS of surviving the apocalypse and combat, tons of scars; he would almost look like a junkie because he ate crap. Just look at how Kyle looked in T1.

The fact that he looked like a Gi Joe action figure in T:Salvation was a huge turn off for me.. It's not the john connor I imagined. John Connor became a leader because he was the first to know all the secrets about the terminator, how to disable them, how to eventually hack them; he taught that shit to everyone, and so on.. In T:S, he was a total peon for the big army guys, and was a total emo bitch with self doubts.

Without having read the rest. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

There is no Terminator, but Terminator 1 and 2!

Also, Terminator 2 Ahnuld was teh best. Not too old, not too young. Just perfect. Fuck I love Terminator 2.

i find it really hard to care at all about what Arnold does anymore. Should have aged gracefully and drifted off into history. Now hes embarassing himself with direct to video Expendables and generic action flicks that might have been cool if he were 20 years younger.

So they're making two unnecessary sequels based on a movie that was fucking awful, made no sense and had absolutely no redeeming qualities?

That makes sense.

I honestly think he just looks too old now to play a Terminator anymore...Not saying too old to star in action movies, but just too old to play a machine which doesn't age.

This is the first time I've seen someone with the opinion I have on this. John Conner should have been more rough and tumble from basically growing up in a cartel.
