Maybe it's because I don't really talk to a lot of people or have many friends, but what's wrong with the default texting abilities of the phone?

Never used WhatsApp but I know theirs big groups at work. Never understood though.

Maybe it's because I don't really talk to a lot of people or have many friends, but what's wrong with the default texting abilities of the phone?

I have friends in different countries, if i use regular sms its very expensive, with messaging apps its free.
Plus i can share images, videos and gifs, which is not possible with regular sms.
