As usual, the remake version is much better.
1. Ashley's ballistics are still in the game and the physics too, but though the line is reworked, I like it best because it gives off a subtle vibe that Luis is a ladies man but without the uncalled mention of the first thing he notices and totally disrespects Ashley as a human being and thus treats her as to be objectified and fetishized. Though that's just that one scene and since Luis does appear to stick around much later into the game than before, it may be possible for him to see Ashley without her jacket on and make his statement about her ballistics. Since just like Leon, his jacket does eventually come off, so too does Ashley's at some point though I'm not sure if she actually finds or retrieves her jacket again unlike Leon. Dag Leon, that was a cool jacket too, lol.
2. Ashley still very much defends herself upon meeting Luis for the first time as his first impression isn't a, "Hello, my name is Luis Sera, and your name is?" Instead he just calls her a senorita which isn't necessarily the worst greeting but definitely wasn't a proper greeting. Which Ashley does correct him in saying she has a name and it's Ashley. In the original scene Luis is much more rude and then gaslights her into giving her name to him first, lol. Also in the original scene he knows Leon's name but in this remake it appears they briefly met before but didn't tell their backstories to each other yet. In fact, Leon questions who Luis even is and what's he doing there; which in the original he does also question what is Luis is doing there but knows his name and who he is at that point. So it's good to see that Leon and Luis will have time to get to know each other over the course of the game (hopefully most of the game) than the original.
3. Why are there complaints about Ashley wearing a skort? (There was more I had written but decided against it but I already know the answer to this rhetorical question.)
The gameplay shown so far looks really good, the graphics are amazing and what has been shown of some changes to the storyline and how it happens differently is thus far well done. I also like how Ashley can climb down the ladder herself instead of always jumping into Leon's arms like she's incapable of handling a ladder. Though I wouldn't mind if they add that in the game in a moment where time is of the essence, then it would be used where it makes sense. Just jump. I notice they show very little of Ada which isn't too surprising as she is all secretive and behind-the-scenes anyway but I wonder what changes have they done with Leon x Ada run ins. I remember this is also the first time Leon has seen Ada since the RC incident and she was presumed dead but after researching apparently he found out she somehow was alive. I wonder if that too will make it into the storyline or happen differently? I can't wait for RE4 to release, I'm absolutely loving these well made with attention to detail and with love REmakes.
