Now EA has dropped the ball with all its racing titles and probably no more 'Dirt/WRC' games, seems Kunos has picked up the mantle.

Early access from 13th November on Steam.

About This Game

Assetto Corsa Rally delivers an uncompromising rally simulation that captures the raw intensity and precision of the sport. Developed by Supernova in technical partnership with Kunos Simulazioni, AC Rally was developed on the base of Assetto Corsa's acclaimed physics engine, specifically refined for the needs of this motorsports discipline, and a customized build of Unreal Engine 5.

AC Rally introduces a rally-specific chapter to the Assetto Corsa franchise, designed to deliver a demanding and immersive experience where weather, road, and car setups all matter and dedicated driver training and skills are a key element to succeed in driving.
From the gravel stages of Wales to the tarmac stages of Alsace, AC Rally introduces 3D laser-scanned stages & meticulously modelled vehicles, professional co-driver support, and realistic dynamics for FWD, RWD, and AWD vehicles. Every second on the road is a high-stakes challenge, where surface grip, weather, and time of day constantly impact your every decision.

Launching into Early Access with an initial set of 10 licensed cars, 4 rally stages, from the real world of rallies, plus offline and online game modes, AC Rally invites players to master the precision of rally racing while shaping the future of the game with their feedback.

Official Licensed Cars:

• Alfa Romeo GTA 1300 Junior Gr.2 – 1972

With full support for triple screens, direct input racing wheels, and peripherals, AC Rally also includes a powerful physics-based damage system and multiple audio effects for authentic car feedback.

Post-launch, the game will evolve with 30+ cars, more rally stages in new locations, expanded game modes, full support for VR, and a dedicated rally school.

Assetto Corsa Rally is a focused evolution for those who Rally, not just play. This is where skill meets speed, and every moment behind the wheel is a high-stakes challenge. It's a simulation where control, courage, and calculation define success. Assetto Corsa Rally is the best rally simulation that Supernova and KUNOS Simulazioni can offer, a new chapter is started in the Assetto Corsa franchise.

While I FUCKING LOVE Delta Integrale HF, maybe Kunos will at least somewhat finish EVO first? Especially considering that the main selling point (openworld map) was delayed without any further release window.

Christ, management is all over the place with this italian team.

No way! A rally game with AC's physics should be awesome.

There's lots of info here

"Based on AC's physics engine and Unreal Engine 5, Assetto Corsa Rally is intended as a hardcore rally simulator, with a laser focus on driver and car versus conditions and stopwatch."

YES!! We need a good hardcore Rally sim. There hasn't been really anything since Richard Burns Rally.

While I really like RBR, actual rally drivers, at least some, think that both WRC and Dirt Rally2 do a better job at simulating the real thing.
The hardcoreness is a bit overdone in RBR, it basically went too far and shot over the goal of sim, sitting on the opposite to arcadesim.

Personally I like all, RBR, DR and also WRC from Kylotonn. None of them are perfect and do different things better and worse. All fused together would be interesting. Definitely interesting to get another team trying it. Even though I can't say that AC impressed me much on Ps4/5. Much of it felt half cooked.

I'm so fucking happy by this announcement. This is the game where I'll buy a full racing setup

It's ok. Rally isn't for everyone. Completely different developer btw, has been in development for 4 years.
Proper game support is though.

Evo is a huge red flag, and while Kunos here is more of a support team, I don't think they need to spread already thin resources even thinner.

Kunos is providing their tech and some help but the game is being developed by a different studio

That said yeah I am also disappointed by evo so far. VR performance in particular is just dismal

Is still draws some time and manpower from the main studio, it's not like Kunos provided the keys to their tech and that's it. Also in Steam both teams are labeled as equal dev partners with 505 publishing it.

We will see, as an Evo EA backer, I find the timing of this reveal a bit tone-deaf.

As an owner of AC Evo, I'm fine with taking their resources away and creating the best rally game ever made. Couldn't give a shit if they stopped development and went full time for Rally. Obviously speaking for myself.

They should help the lackkng team behind Evo. What a shit offering. We went with the early access because they have a good track record. But at this point they are just trying to get us to fund them their game.
